National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey
National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey is a biennial outreach and education event dedicated to promoting the use of AFVs and advanced technology vehicles. It is coordinated by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) headquartered at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Odyssey is comprised of numerous green transportation related events coordinated and hosted by NAFTC members, Clean Cities Coalitions, and others who believe in cleaner, more energy efficient forms of transportation. These local events take place on a designated date every other year throughout the U.S. and in Canada.
Each local event site offers unique activities designed to educate attendees about cleaner transportation technologies and is tailored to the specific needs of the site’s given audience. Examples of such activities include: ride-and-drives, vehicle displays, workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, trivia contests, automotive lab tours, and EcoCar garage tours.
Additionally, industry experts are often on hand at Odyssey events to answer questions, and educational seminars are frequently featured to provide detailed information about viable alternative fuel options and how they apply to the audiences’ local communities.
Since the inaugural National AFV Day Odyssey in 2002, the number of Odyssey site locations and attendance has grown from approximately 17,000 attendees at 51 events to more than 250,000 individuals attending one of 151 events in 2012. The worldwide recognition of National AFV Day Odyssey has enabled millions of individuals to become aware of the difference alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles can make in our nation’s energy security and our quest for cleaner air.

iPhone 6 phablet may be tough to find when it finally launches
After a recent rumor suggested that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may be delayed because Apple is facing supply issues related to the phone’s battery, a new report now says that Apple will only manufacture a limited run of the bigger model. G 4 Games has picked up reports from Chinese media via Weibo that say that Apple will only make 10 million iPhone 6 phablets at launch. These iPhones will have a 5.44-inch display covered by Sapphire glass, which may be the reason only a limited number of handsets will be mass-produced.

Here’s a painfully ironic twist of fate if you happen to work for a particular Cupertino, California-based consumer tech giant: Google, maker of iOS’s top mobile platform rival, is the top publisher in the iOS App Store by download volume, when excluding games. The news comes from App Annie, which recently released its March data.

This brilliant app will send you a photo of the person who stole your smarpthone
Trying to chase down and accost the person who stole your smartphone might not be the best plan, which is why you might want to take a less risky approach of remotely snapping a picture of the thief with your phone’s front-facing camera. BBC News brings us word that a security feature on a stolen HTC smartphone has snapped a picture of its alleged thief and sent it to its owner’s primary email address. The security feature is designed to snap a picture with the device’s front-facing camera after the person using the device enters in too many incorrect passwords or PINs into the phone’s lock screen.
