How crazy is it that this $24 home camera is better than a $200 Nest Cam?
We don’t want to make you feel bad if you already have a bunch of Nest Cams that you’re using in your home. At the same time, we also want to make absolutely certain that no one buys a Nest Cam if they’re in the market for new home security cameras. We don’t have anything against Nest, in fact we love Nest thermostats (which are on sale at 2020 lows right now, by the way) and there are other great Nest products as well. But $200 is insane for a single home camera when you can get a new and improved Wyze Cam WYZEC2 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with all the same features at a fraction of the price. What’s more, the Wyze Cam comes with 14 days of cloud storage for free, which you’ll never get with a Nest Cam. Amazon has Wyze Cams on sale right now for just $24.12 each, so you can literally buy eight of them for less than what you’d pay for one Nest Cam. It’s a no-brainer.
Wyze Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with Night Vision, 2-Way Audio, Works with…: $24.12
Here’s more info from the product page:
- Live Stream from Anywhere in 1080p -1080p Full HD live streaming lets you see inside your home from anywhere in real time using your mobile device. While live streaming, use two-way audio to speak with your friends and family through the Wyze app.
- Motion/Sound Recording with Free Cloud Storage – Wyze Cam can automatically record a 12-second video clip when motion or sound is detected and saves that video to the cloud for 14-days, for free. Mobile push notifications can be enabled so you’re only alerted when something is detected letting you stay on top of things without having to constantly monitor the app. Or, record continuously to a MicroSD card (sold separately) regardless of motion and sound. Compatible with 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB FAT32 MicroSD cards.
- See in the dark – Night vision lets you see up to 30′ in absolute darkness using 4 infrared (IR) LEDs. Note: IR does not work through glass windows.
- Voice Controlled? You got it! – Works with Alexa and Google Assistant (US only) so you can use your voice to see who’s at your front door, how your baby’s doing, or if your 3D printer has finished printing. Wyze Cam is only compatible with the 2. 4GHz WiFi network (does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi) and Apple (iOS) and Android mobile devices.
- Share with those who care – One Wyze Cam can be shared with multiple family members so everyone can have access to its live stream and video recordings. Just have your family members download the Wyze app and invite them to your account. Camera sharing can also be easily removed.

AirPods Pro are back down to Amazon’s lowest price and we seriously can’t believe it
Is it a Valentine’s Day miracle? We’re not sure, but there is one thing we’re absolutely sure of: this deal is crazy and it’s definitely not going to last very long. Apple’s wildly popular AirPods Pro wireless noise cancelling earbuds recently dropped back down to the lowest price ever on Amazon, and they sold out almost instantly. Well, they’re actually still sold out on Amazon, but the price drop has somehow returned!
AirPods Pro are currently listed as out of stock on Amazon, but you can still order them now to lock in this rare discount. This is the best price you’ll find anywhere right now, so why not wait a little while to get it? As for how long you’ll have to wait before they ship, it’s difficult to say. What we can say, however, is that they’re definitely going to ship sooner than you think. We ordered AirPods Pro back when Amazon’s shipping estimate said 1-2 months, and they arrived in less than a week. We can see new shipments every day in our system, so you’ll probably get yours within a week or two.
Are AirPods Pro worth the wait? Well, one reviewer on Amazon said they’re so good that they actually saved his marriage. Seriously, go read it for yourself! Other AirPods models are on sale as well right now, including AirPods with the wireless charging case at an even bigger discount than we saw earlier this week. If you don’t want to wait for the Pro model, you can also just snag those with free Prime shipping.

New Android flagship supports faster wireless charging speed than Galaxy S20’s fast wired charging
The coronavirus outbreak has forced the GSMA to cancel the biggest mobile show of the year. MWC 2020 is officially dead, but that’s not entirely bad news. As we’ve already explained, we’ll be in for few interesting weeks when it comes to new mobile products. Everything that was supposed to be unveiled at MWC will be announced separately, with smartphone vendors already planning their own press events. The first announcement already happened online in China, where Xiaomi unveiled the Galaxy S20 rival we all expected to see at MWC. And the phone’s most surprising feature is wireless charging that so fast it actually beats the Galaxy S20’s fast wired charging.

Mobile World Congress 2020 might be canceled, but we’re still in for a few huge product launches
Reports said on Tuesday that the GSMA will decide on Friday whether or not to cancel this year’s Mobile World Congress show. MWC is the biggest mobile trade show of the year, a place where the top names in tech unveil new devices and mobile innovations every year. But the coronavirus outbreak in China prompted many of the big companies that attend the show to withdraw, with more than a week left to go. Others followed on Wednesday, including Germany’s Deutsche Telekom and HMD Global, the company that makes and sells phones under the Nokia brand. Then, new reports emerged saying that the GSMA has already decided ahead of the Friday deadline. The organization supposedly wanted to cancel the whole thing, but it’s waiting on Barcelona to declare a health emergency first. Ultimately, the GSMA canceled the entire thing.

A pretty epic marriage proposal is visible right now on Google Maps
Steffen Schwarz is a 32-year-old part-time farmer in Germany who’s preparing to marry his fiancee in June. The pair’s impending nuptials come as a result of a pretty epic marriage proposal Schwarz extended last May — a proposal that’s garnering headlines today for a pretty incredible reason.
That’s because Schwarz used a corn-planting machine in a way that left gaps in his field in the central-Germany community of Huettenberg. Those gaps spelled out the proposal, in German: “Will you marry me?” He prodded his girlfriend to fly a drone over the field, and then voila. The question thus popped, she enthusiastically told him yes. But what makes the proposal so memorable is that it actually doesn’t stop there.

Disney+ Cassian Andor will start shooting this year
When Disney first announced that it would bring Star Wars back to life with a new sequel trilogy and a range of side stories that introduced us to characters who might not have fit in the Skywalker saga, fans were cautiously optimistic. After all, Disney managed to turn decades of confusing comic book lore into the biggest movie franchise of all time – who’s to say the same company couldn’t revive Star Wars after a few awful prequels?
Unfortunately, the reaction to Disney’s Star Wars output since 2015 has been decidedly mixed. The Force Awakens did little more than copy the formula of A New Hope, Solo: A Star Wars Story failed to say anything interesting about one of the most interesting characters in the series, and let’s not even get into The Last Jedi. The one film that didn’t seem to anger anyone was Rogue One, so of course it’s getting a prequel series on Disney+.

You’ll only be able to find the 4G version of the Galaxy S20 in select markets
Many of the Galaxy S20 rumors we saw before Tuesday’s Unpacked press conference claimed that Samsung would launch three distinct versions of the phone, two of which would come in 4G-only and 5G flavors. The Galaxy S20 and S20+ would have these two variants, while the Ultra would be a 5G-only device.
But as we got closer to the keynote, we learned that Samsung was going to do something unexpected in the US. First of all, it wouldn’t launch 4G versions at all, and all the 5G models would be more expensive than we’d expected. It turned out that’s exactly what Samsung planned for the S20 launch, and only certain markets around the world will get 4G-only versions of the Galaxy S20.

Apple just revolutionized another massive industry, and no one’s even talking about it
I don’t really know when this started, but every time I make a run to Target these days I instinctively reach for my phone and complete my purchase at the register via Apple Pay. No fumbling for a wallet, no need to exchange dollar bills and get loose change back, no need to hand over a credit card so that Target can get hacked again and my data end up god knows where. It’s fast, there’s a satisfying “ding,” and I’m out the door. I think this started to become a habit for me after returning from a trip to Europe, where contactless payments are more of an ingrained thing, and rather than deal with a currency there that I didn’t understand, it just made sense to use Apple Pay and move on.
Apple is increasingly relying on revenue from its growing Services business, which includes offerings like Apple Music and revenue from its App Store — and on a standalone basis, that Services business would be about the size of a Fortune 100 company. Some of its offerings within that Services bucket are seeing more success than others at the moment, such as Apple Pay. The iPhone maker’s digital wallet, which users can link to their credit cards and the relatively new Apple Card, is now accounting for some 5% of all credit card transactions around the world.

The Pixel 4a hasn’t even been announced yet, but the first Pixel 5 leak will be here soon
There’s no question that the Galaxy S20 was one of the most leaked smartphones of all time, but that’s become the new normal for Samsung. The company hasn’t even tried to contain the leaks, confirming several Galaxy S20 and Z Flip details well ahead of the Unpacked 2020 event. But the Pixel 4 takes the cake when it comes to mobile leaks, and rather than fight back, Google decided to join in.
Google tried to stay ahead of leaks after a disastrous Pixel 3 launch and revealed some of the Pixel 4’s signature features several months before the October “Made by Google” event. All that did was confirm all of the Pixel 4 leaks even faster than when we were reviewing purported Pixel 3 prototypes from Asia months before Google’s announcement event in 2018.
This brings us to the present-day and the next Pixel. It’s mid-February, which means we’re some eight months away from Google’s Pixel 5 launch event. But the first Pixel 5 leak is about to drop.
