Xbox boss explains his controversial comments about bringing VR to Xbox Series X
Now that its life cycle is ending, it’s difficult to look at the trajectory of the Xbox One and not draw parallels between it and the Wii U. Both were the subject of controversy long before they even launched, both lacked consistent first-party releases, and both forced their respective companies to rethink their strategies moving forward. Microsoft is certainly hoping the Xbox Series X will be as big of a success as the Switch, but avoiding pointless controversies is key, and that’s why Xbox boss Phil Spencer is walking back some of his comments about VR last year.
When Spencer was asked by Stevivor in an interview last fall about the potential for VR on Project Scarlett (this was before the Xbox Series X name was announced), he said that “nobody’s asking for VR,” and that while virtual reality may eventually come to Xbox in some form, it isn’t the team’s focus right now.

Samsung just dropped the prices of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10+
At Samsung’s annual Unpacked event today, the company introduced its next-gen lineup of smartphones. Per usual, much of what Samsung announced wasn’t all that surprising given that most of the event’s biggest announcements leaked out weeks, if not months in advance. Aside from an intriguing foldable phone dubbed the Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung also introduced its Galaxy S20 lineup. If that sounds a bit unusual at first glance, it’s because Samsung decided to jump from the Galaxy S10 to the Galaxy S20, all in the name of clever marketing, of course.
Truth be told, Samsung’s 2020 smartphone lineup looks impressive. All the same, getting your hands on Samsung’s latest and greatest devices won’t come cheap. The Galaxy Z Flip, for instance, will set you back a cool $1380. Meanwhile, and as we detailed in our Galaxy S20 roundup, the entry-level S20 will be priced at $999 while the entry-level Galaxy S20 Ultra will be priced at $1,399. And if you really want to max out the S20 Ultra, you’ll be spending $1,599.

Whatever you do, don’t buy a Galaxy S20 right now
It’s the Tuesday when Samsung launches the newest Galaxy S handset, the one you’ve been hearing so much about. You know it’ll have a great, familiar design along with top of the line specs that border the insane if you’re eying that high-end S20 Ultra with 16GB of RAM and a brand new camera — again, it’s the S20 Ultra that gets the amazing 108-megapixel camera with 100x zoom telephoto periscope lens. Add to that 5G connectivity for whenever your neighborhood finally gets 5G coverage and a great preorder deal that gets you free Galaxy Buds+, and I can understand why you might want to buy this baby as soon as possible. Well, preorder, that is, because you won’t be able to buy one in stores for another few weeks. But instead of doing that, you should absolutely give yourself some time to think about the purchase, and maybe skip buying the Galaxy S20 next week when preorders open. I’m not saying you should ignore the Galaxy S20 forever, but picking one up on launch day is a huge mistake.

I tried to virtually ride up Pike’s Peak on the Wattbike Atom… and I failed miserably
A couple of weeks ago I reviewed the Wattbike Atom, a smart trainer that I found to be more flexible in its approach to home cycling than many others I’ve tried. It works with Zwift and Sufferfest and all the most popular training apps, but it also has an app of its own, packed with pre-programmed workouts and virtual rides.
The selection at the time I tested it was modest but certainly enough to keep a person busy. Now, Wattbike has boosted its built-in offerings with eight new rides that mimic some of the most challenging routes in America. I am literally not ready for these.

Galaxy Z Flip price, specs, and release date announced at Unpacked 2020
When Samsung released the Galaxy Fold last fall, it felt more like a trial run than the beginning of a trend. There was no doubt that more foldable phones would follow — including from Samsung itself — but no one looking to buy a new daily driver was going to take a risk on a phone that reviewers slammed months earlier over a standard flagship they knew would work. But now that Samsung has proven it can make foldable phones, and competitors have begun to release their own foldables, the company is back with a device that might actually have legs.

Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series is finally official – here’s everything you need to know
Google last fall thought it would be able to control Pixel 4 leaks by revealing some of the phone’s signatures features a few months before the actual announcement, but the whole thing backfired. Google’s mini announcements only helped us better assess the validity of the various Pixel 4 rumors that kept piling up as we got closer to October. Fast-forward to February, and almost the same thing happened with the Galaxy S20. Samsung didn’t host any S20 events before the February 11th Unpacked press conference, but the company made several mistakes that helped us confirmed all the Galaxy S20 rumors out there, including the big name change and the phone’s impressive new camera.
Thankfully, Samsung just put an end to all the rumors by announcing the Galaxy S20 in San Francisco — well, technically, it jumped the gun and announced the phone several hours before the event. Should you get excited? You absolutely should. The Galaxy S20 will be one of the best Android phones money can buy in the first half of the year. That said, the S20 series is very expensive, and only the Ultra model packs that exciting camera that nobody else has along with an industry-first 16GB of RAM.
