Every few years, Apple makes a few massive changes to the iPhone that consumers don’t necessarily appreciate. The Lightning port replaced the 30-pin connector on the iPhone 5, and a few years later the iPhone 7 killed the 3.5mm headphone jack. The iPhone X’s arrival the following year marked the end of fingerprint sensors on iPhones, which were replaced with more sophisticated technology, the 3D face recognition system known as Face ID. Now, following earlier rumors that said Apple has been considering removing the Lightning connector from the iPhone, a new report from a trusted insider says that the first iPhone without the port might hit stores even sooner than we expected.

The seemingly endless string of leaks in recent weeks have all pointed to the launch of the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite being right around the corner, but according to a new report, the two phones actually won’t see the light of day until 2020. On Thursday, 91mobiles (which also provided us with these Note 10 Lite renders) cited an industry source who claims that the two Lite models will now launch in mid-January 2020 in India.

Previous reports had suggested that the Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, and Galaxy A51 would all be unveiled before the end of the year, but it’s now beginning to look like the Galaxy A51 will be the only phone ready in time for a late 2019 reveal. All three phones should eventually make their way to the US as well.

Both Microsoft and Sony are working on their next-gen consoles, including Project Scarlett and PS5, which will launch in late 2020. In other words, both the new Xbox and PlayStation consoles will be worthy additions to your home entertainment setups, and it might come down to platform preference when choosing one or the other next November. But, with all that in mind, Microsoft is already losing a significant battle against the PS5, one that might cost down the road.
