Snapdragon 865 teases the next-gen smartphone features we’ll get from Galaxy S11 to Pixel 5
Qualcomm unveiled its next-gen mobile chips that will power several Android devices next year, including the Snapdragon 865 flagship, and the Snapdragon 765 mid-range processor. The Galaxy S11 will likely come in two chip versions, just like its predecessors, including Snapdragon and Exynos silicon. And the Snapdragon 865 will power many Android flagships, starting with the Galaxy S11, which should launch in February and all the way through October 2020, when the Pixel 5 will be unveiled. After announcing the new flagship, Qualcomm revealed more details about the Snapdragon 865, teasing the kind of new features we should expect from expensive Android phones next year.

‘Joker’ was the most discussed movie on Reddit in 2019 – here are the rest
DC actually beat out Marvel (and, specifically, Avengers: Endgame) on at least one 2019 year-end best-of list, a list that surprisingly wasn’t dominated by this year’s Avengers film which quickly became the biggest box office success of all time.
Reddit teamed up with analytics firm Brandwatch to reveal its rundown of the most talked-about movies and franchises of 2019 across the social media and discussion website. At the top of the list: The dark origin-story from Warner Bros. and DC of Batman’s arch-nemesis, Joker, with the movie’s titular antihero portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in a spellbinding performance that’s helped the film already top $1 billion worldwide.

Astronomers just spotted a black hole more massive than any in our cosmic neighborhood
Of all the objects astronomers have observed in space over centuries of scientific investigation, black holes are one of the most bizarre and mysterious. Objects so dense that not even light can escape their pull are hard for us to wrap our heads around, but they’re out there, and scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics along with researchers from the University Observatory Munich just spotted one that’s more massive than any previously discovered black holes in our neck of the cosmic woods.
It’s located at the heart of a galaxy cluster known as Abell 85. The cluster is made up of hundreds of individual galaxies, but they’re all centered around a black hole so incredibly large that it would take 40 billion stars the size of our Sun to match its mass.

In case you missed it, Henry Cavill stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night to talk up the new fantasy series he stars in that debuts on Netflix two weeks from this Friday. Henry portrays the stoic, white-haired monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, based on the popular series of books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski and anticipation for which has been rising to a fever pitch in recent weeks as it starts to seem more and more like this show will be a more-than-perfect replacement for the now-ended Game of Thrones.
During his conversation with Kimmel, meanwhile, Henry also brought an extra treat — new footage from the series, which shows Henry-as-Geralt in fierce, sword-wielding action and which you can check out above (start the video around the 6:20 mark).

Galaxy Note 10 Lite renders reveal headphone jack ahead of imminent launch
New renders of the forthcoming Galaxy Note 10 Lite, the more affordable variant of the Galaxy Note 10 that Samsung might launch as soon as this month, have leaked courtesy of @OnLeaks, revealing at least one interesting design detail that’s been making headlines today.
It appears that a headphone jack is back in the Note 10 Lite design, as opposed to that of its flagship counterpart. What you’ll also notice in the design (which you can check out via the leaked renderings below) is that the look includes a punch-hole camera on the front, as well as a noticeable camera bump in a square configuration on the back.

Not so fast, NASA! India says it knew where its Moon lander crashed months ago
India’s Vikram lunar lander didn’t land on the Moon. It crashed back in early September, destroying both the lander itself as well as the small rover it was carrying. This week, NASA released the first public images of the crash site, which were snapped by the agency’s own Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Somehow, this is causing drama between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organization.
Throughout this entire saga, ISRO has been strangely standoffish. The group initially refused to declare the lander and rover dead despite the fact that the machines slammed into the lunar surface. The group then went quiet, and updates on the status of the mission were few and far between.

Here’s what Apple says to do if your 2019 MacBook Pro is randomly shutting down
If you’re among the MacBook Pro users whose 13-inch variant of the laptop keeps shutting down all of a sudden for no reason — with a variety of reports noting that seems to happen when the laptop still has anywhere from 25% to 50% of its battery life left — it’s no doubt a frustrating experience.
Apple, for its part, has gone ahead and confirmed the shutdown problem and published a support document that details a step-by-step walkthrough of what you should do if this keeps happening to you.

‘The Mandalorian’ episode 7 will feature a sneak peek of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’
Star Wars is hot right now — not only because Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is almost here, but also because of The Mandalorian on Disney+. The show brought us the adorable Baby Yoda character, but that’s not the only reason it’s worthy of your attention. The Mandalorian actually tells a great story with awesome visuals, and, it’s about as close as we’ve ever gotten to Star Wars content that feels like the original trilogy.
Sadly, the two Disney properties aren’t likely to be linked in any meaningful way, although fans did find one clue that might point to a Mandalorian Easter egg in Rise of Skywalker. Even so, episode 7 of the series will air earlier than expected, and will deliver an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming saga-ending movie.

Nintendo Switch just had its biggest week ever, even with PS5 and Xbox Scarlett looming
Nintendo took a well-deserved victory lap on Tuesday, touting this week as the best yet in terms of sales of the Nintendo Switch since its launch in 2017. On a related note, the company also raved about sales of the Switch over the week that included Thanksgiving and Black Friday, with both the Switch and Switch Lite selling a combined total of more than 830,000 units in the US, bringing total sales of the Switch in the Americas up to 17.5 million units.
The brisk pace of sales last week also marks the week of November 24-30 as the best sales week in the US in the history of the Switch, a result helped in part thanks to the introduction of the Switch Lite, as well as myriad Black Friday offers, including the Switch bundle that included a free Mario Kate 8 Deluxe game download.
