Size is always relative, and that’s especially true when it comes to outer space. We’re tiny creatures, so we think of the Earth as this incredibly large thing, with our solar system being almost impossibly large. The size of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, is hard to wrap our heads around, so when we peer into space and spot a pair of galaxies cuddling up close to each other it’s a difficult thing to grasp.

In this image captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, the cosmic feature known as Arp 293 is presented in gorgeous detail. Arp 293 is actually two separate galaxies that have drifted so close to one another that they’ve begun to share some of their material.

Samsung is widely expected to launch several Galaxy S11 models in mid-February, and leaks have already spoiled many of the surprises. We know that Samsung is preparing a massive camera upgrade for the next-gen flagship, and we’ve seen the designs of the Galaxy S11e, S11, and S11+.

The S11 is essentially a Galaxy Note 10 with an even bigger and more complex camera system. But an odd report notes that Samsung might do something totally unexpected with the Galaxy S11 and drop a key feature from its predecessor. As a result, the company might copy the iPhone’s most important change in recent years.

Coral reefs around the globe are dying off at a breakneck pace. Warming ocean waters have led to “bleaching,” which is just another way of saying that the organisms that live in and around the reefs have left or died. It’s a major problem, and even if we can get climate change under control, getting life to return to abandoned reefs has proven difficult for scientists.

The challenge is immense, but a new research effort suggests that a rather unconventional technique might do the trick. Researchers report in Nature Communications that using underwater speakers has proven effective in luring some crucial organisms back to abandoned reefs.

T-Mobile kicked off the week with a milestone achievement, becoming the first US carrier to claim to have launched a nationwide 5G network that T-Mobile says covers an estimated 200 million people. According to a coverage map T-Mobile shared Monday as part of its announcement, the new network utilizing 600 MHz spectrum from T-Mobile encompasses more than 60% of the US population across more than 1 million square miles, much of which would cover rural America.

What T-Mobile’s announcement leaves out — the carrier won’t begin selling phones that support that network until Friday, when the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition ($899.99) and the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G ($1,299.99) will both go on sale for T-Mobile customers.

When Samsung started rolling out its Android 10 beta for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 earlier than expected, everyone speculated that the final Android 10 upgrade might come sooner than ever before — maybe even before the end of 2019. Dissecting a frog was once a rite of passage for high school students (and sometimes junior high students) across the country. Coming up through the grades you’d hear fellow students talking about it, and whether you loved the idea or hated it, you were going to have your date with an unfortunate frog sooner or later.
