Bose true wireless earbuds cost less than AirPods today
- There have been Bose deals abound for the past few weeks at Amazon, but many of them are now gone.
- Bose SoundSport Free True Wireless Earbuds are still on sale though, and they cost less right now than Apple’s AirPods despite offering much better sound quality.
- They’re the first and only cord-free earphones Bose has made, and they’re priced starting at $139 right now instead of the typical $199 price tag.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Everyone is well aware that Apple’s AirPods are the best-selling true wireless earphones on Amazon right now, which makes sense since regular AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro are both on sale with deep discounts. In fact, they’re the best-selling Bluetooth earbuds out there even when they’re listed at full price. They’re certainly not the only option though, and there’s a killer deal right now at Amazon for anyone who values sound quality more than popularity or style.
The Bose SoundSport Free True Wireless Earbuds have more than 11,000 5-star ratings on Amazon and for good reason. They offer a compact design, solid battery life, and the fantastic sound quality you’ve come to expect from any Bose audio product. Needless to say, you’ve also come to expect hefty price tags from Bose products, and the SoundSport Free buds are definitely pricey at $199.
Thanks to some deep discounts right now at Amazon though, you can snag a pair for either $139 or $149 depending on which color you choose. At either price, you’re paying less than the $169 they cost on Black Friday so you can rest assured that you’re getting a great deal. You’re also paying less than you would for any AirPods if you buy them right now from Apple.

Here’s some key info from Amazon’s product page:
No wires mean no limits. And Bose sound sport free headphones are completely wireless, so you can enjoy total freedom of movement with nothing not even a single cord in your way. The acoustic package is designed to deliver sound so clear and powerful it will motivate you to go faster, lift heavier and train longer. Bluetooth technology transmits music from your phone to the headphones, so music plays reliably and consistently whether your phone is in your nearby gym bag, pocket, or strapped to your arm.
Worried your earbuds will fall out during your workout? Don’t be. “Stay hear” sport tips are built to stay comfortably in place, even when you’re training hard. And if you can’t find an earbud, all hope is not lost. You can track down lost earbuds using the Bose connect app’s “find my buds” feature. It shows when and where the earbuds were last connected to your phone. Still having trouble finding your earbuds? Don’t worry, an audio signal from the headphones can Alert you to their location.
Don’t sweat your sweat (or the weather) either, because water repellent materials Inside the earbuds help keep moisture out. Off a single charge, the earbuds play for up to five hours, and the fully charged case gives you an additional 10 hours of music, ready to play when you are. When not in use, the charging case is designed with built-in magnets to keep the earbuds securely in place. Play or pause tracks and access your phone’s Siri or your Google assistant right from the earbud. You can even take phone calls, through the right earbud only.

Chinese doctors say they may be able to cure coronavirus without a vaccine
- A new type of coronavirus treatment could give COVID-19 patients relief.
- Scientists in China injected antibodies isolated from recovered coronavirus patients and injected them into mice that still had an infection.
- The researchers say the treatment reduced the viral load by a factor of 2,500, which is incredibly dramatic.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Ever since the novel coronavirus pandemic began in earnest, spreading across China and then jumping borders to just about every country on Earth, we’ve wanted one thing: a vaccine. Researchers around the planet are working on various vaccine candidates right at this very moment, but vaccine development is often a slow and complicated process.
Now, a Chinese laboratory says it has developed a drug that may stop the virus in its tracks without the need for a vaccine. It’s currently being tested at Peking University, and if it proves to be safe and effective we may not have to wait for a vaccine in order to feel a bit safer in the midst of the pandemic.

You can now call the IRS with questions about your stimulus check
- Up this point, there were few options available to taxpayers who have a question about their coronavirus stimulus payment, beyond visiting IRS.gov and checking the “Get My Payment” section.
- Now, however, the IRS has started adding 3,500 people who can answer questions from taxpayers by phone, and the number to call is 1-800-919-9835.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Instead of constantly visiting the IRS “Get My Payment” page when you’re trying to determine the status of your coronavirus stimulus check, the tax agency is now offering another solution for anyone who has questions about their direct payment from the federal government.
If you don’t mind waiting, the IRS now has dedicated staff — some 3,500 people to be exact — to man phone lines and take your questions live, as the distribution of payments rolls along following the initial rollout that began more than a month ago now. The number to call is 1-800-919-9835, but it seems that service, at least initially, will be limited. That number, for example, connects users to an automated recording that reminds callers most people will receive one of these payments automatically.

Huge leak reveals the release date and price of Apple’s AR glasses
- Apple’s AR glasses are supposedly called Apple Glass, a leaker revealed, and the product is set to be unveiled during the iPhone 12 launch event.
- The coronavirus health crisis might force Apple to postpone the reveal to the first quarter of next year.
- Apple Glass will cost $499 without a prescription for the lenses, and could be available by Q4 2021.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Apple has been working on its augmented reality (AR) glasses for a few years, which we know thanks to a slew of rumors that were indirectly confirmed by patent documentation describing technologies that could be used in such a product. AR has been been a core feature of iOS for years, one that Apple is looking to further improve in the very near future. The newest iPad Pro comes with a LiDAR camera that can be used for AR applications, and the iPhone 12 Pro models are also expected to feature the same functionality.
AR glasses could one day replace the iPhone or, at least, reduce the user’s interaction with the device in their pocket. To get there, however, we’ll need AR glasses that use the iPhone to display information. And that future might be closer than we thought, according to a reliable Apple leaker. What’s more, Apple Glass will reportedly cost $499, not including prescription lenses, which is much cheaper than we would have imagined.

Microsoft Build 2020: How to watch Microsoft’s developer conference
- Microsoft Build 2020 was canceled in March, but the company decided to forge ahead with an online-only event instead, similar to what Apple is planning to do with WWDC 2020.
- Build 2020 begins on Tuesday, May 19th at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, and anyone can watch the online sessions for free as long as they register on the Build website.
- There are over 600 sessions slated to take place from May 19th – May 21st, but you can build your own schedule to make sure that you attend all of the sessions that interest you most.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Microsoft’s annual Build developer conference was one of countless events scheduled to take place this spring and summer that had to be canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, but unlike some other events, Build wasn’t scrapped altogether. In mid-March, Microsoft announced that it would no longer be going forward with an in-person event, but would instead host a digital event that developers would be invited to attend.
Typically, Microsoft charges developers thousands of dollars to attend the event in Seattle, but this year, anyone can sign up online and watch everything for free. Microsoft Build 2020 starts on May 19th at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET and lasts until May 21st at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. Throughout those 48 hours, virtual attendees will be able to stream hundreds of sessions on a wide variety of topics, and you see the entire schedule on the Build website.

AirPods Pro fall to new Amazon-low price – and last chance to get AirPods rivals for $19.59
- Amazon’s best AirPods Pro deal ever popped up last week thanks to a special discount that’s applied at checkout in addition to the $14 discount shown on the product page.
- That makes the final price of Apple’s wildly popular noise cancelling earbuds just $227.99, which is even less than they cost last year on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
- If you don’t want to spend that much and you don’t need active noise cancellation, today is also your last day to pick up a best-selling entry-level AirPods alternative for just $19.59 thanks to a limited-time deal.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
You know what’s even crazier than Apple’s insanely popular AirPods Pro true wireless noise cancelling earbuds having fallen to a new all-time low price last week on Amazon? The fact that they’re still available at that new all-time low price right now!
We’re not sure how or even why since they already sell so well at full price, but Apple’s popular AirPods Pro true wireless noise cancelling earphones dropped to a new all-time low price at Amazon last week. What’s even more bizarre is that the new deeper discount is somehow still available this week! Despite the fact that they outsell any other headphones at their full price of $249, they’re on sale right now at a new Amazon-low price of just $227.99. That’s less than they were selling for on Black Friday and on Cyber Monday last year, and this deal is definitely not going to last long.
As you can see in the screenshot above, Amazon is offering Apple’s popular ANC buds with a 6% discount, as it has been for several weeks now. But there’s also an extra $7 discount that’s applied at checkout. What’s more, you can also see that they’re available with free one-day Prime shipping in some areas! There’s no telling how long the additional discount will be available, but our guess that it’ll disappear within hours considering how many of our readers are about to flood Amazon’s site to take advantage of this awesome sale. Don’t miss out!
Apple AirPods Pro: $227.99
Now, there’s no question that this is a fantastic deal on Apple’s AirPods Pro. That said, there’s also no question whatsoever that $227.99 is still a whole lot of money to spend on earphones. If you don’t have a real need for active noise cancellation and you’re not terribly concerned with the image associated with Apple products, there’s another deal available right now that you definitely need to check out.
SoundPEATS TrueCapsule true wireless earbuds have been best sellers with our readers for quite some time, and there are a few obvious reasons for that. They offer good sound quality and solid battery life along with a comfortable design and silicone ear tips that prevent sound from leaking. On top of all that, they’re also wonderfully affordable at $31. They also go on sale fairly often, which is when our readers typically take advantage.
We do indeed see sales all the time on these true wireless earbuds, but we’ve never seen them priced as low as they are today. Clip the 10% coupon on the product page and use the coupon code LKXEGOJO at checkout, and you’ll only pay $19.59! This deal expires tomorrow so it’s your last chance to grab a pair at this new all-time low price.

Apple TV+ is buying older shows and movies to challenge Netflix
- Apple is reportedly buying the rights to older shows and movies to add to Apple TV+.
- When Apple TV+ launched last fall, Apple said that it wasn’t looking to compete with Netflix or Hulu, but it appears that the strategy has changed in the intervening months.
- Apple has already bought several shows and movies, but its focus will remain on originals.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
When Apple TV+ launched late last year, Apple made it clear that its goal was not to replace or directly compete with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or any of the other top streaming services, but rather to complement them with a lineup of star-studded original shows and movies like The Morning Show and The Banker. At just $4.99 a month, the price of a subscription was much lower than any of its would-be rivals, and anyone who bought a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple TV could get a free year of the streaming service.
Apple’s approach was certainly unique, but less than a year later, it appears that the company might be ready to level the playing field by expanding its library to include third-party content. According to Bloomberg, Apple is acquiring old movies and TV shows to give the likes of Netflix and Disney+ a run for their money.

Grab Amazon’s 5 best-selling protein bars before they sell out
- The best-selling protein bars for men and women alike are all back in stock right now on Amazon, giving you a rare chance to pick up your favorite bars that have likely been sold out for quite some time.
- Getting some types of food like protein bars will continue to be challenging in the coming weeks and months, so it’s a good time to stock up.
- We regularly recommend Quest Hero bars because they’re the most delicious bars you’ll ever try, but they’re certainly not the only good options out there.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Anyone who follows the BGR Deals team’s coverage knows that there is one protein bar in particular that we recommend above all others. It’s the Quest Hero bar, which is sweetened with allulose instead of regular sugar. It tastes exactly like sugar but the body doesn’t metabolize it the same way, so you don’t have to worry about all the calories and other problems associated with sugar. These protein bars are amazing and there are two flavors in particular that we love: Quest Hero Chocolate Bars and Quest Hero Blueberry Cobbler Bars.
As good as they are, Hero bars actually aren’t among the best-selling protein bars on Amazon. Anyone who has ever tried one will be shocked to find that out, but perhaps it’s only because not enough people know about them. In any case, the novel coronavirus pandemic means we’re all cooped up in our homes for a long time to come, and we might not be getting as much nutrition as we should. Or, if you plan to work out at home — and you definitely should — you’re obviously not going to be able to grab a protein bar or a shake on your way out of the gym. With that in mind, we dug through Amazon to find the five best-selling protein bars on the entire site, and you’ll find them all listed in order down below.

How to make your own N95 face masks with materials from Amazon
- Best-selling 3-layer face masks like the ones the CDC recommends we all wear are back in stock on Amazon at all-time low prices, but there’s another option you should explore.
- Someone reverse-engineered N95 masks and shared instructions online that will show you how to make your own DIY face masks.
- If done properly, these DIY face masks could provide even better protection than the 3-layer masks that are so popular on Amazon, though either option is more than good enough to protect you as long as you also practice social distancing and good hygiene.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Head on over to Amazon and you’ll find that the retailer’s best-selling 3-layer face masks are back in stock and ready to ship. What’s more, they’re down to an all-time low price of just $0.70 per mask. As long as you practice strict social distancing and good hygiene by constantly washing your hands or using hand sanitizer (which is also in stock right now at Amazon) whenever you touch a surface in a public place, these masks are very effective. And if you want to step things up a notch, you’ll find that even thicker 4-layer KN95 face masks are back in stock as well right now. They’re definitely going to sell out soon though, so you’ll need to hurry if you want any.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $34.99 ($0.70 / mask)
Magicare 4-Ply Material Protection High Efficiency of Filtration, 3D Design for Better Fit the…: $89.98 ($4.50 / mask)
Of course, you can get protection that’s as good or perhaps even better if you decide to make your own face masks.
Last week, we gave our readers an awesome guide that explained how to make coronavirus face masks at home quickly and easily. In fact, those DIY face masks are so easy to make that you don’t even have to sew. Most of the materials you need to make those particular masks are simple things that you already have lying around your house. There are really only two things you need that might not already be readily available, and they’re both in stock and shipping now from Amazon. Definitely check out our guide for more details.
As we said, those masks are great because they’re very easy to make and they’re far more effective than just a t-shirt or a scarf. That said, they’re nowhere near as effective as medical-grade face masks that some people wear. The CDC is quite clear that “any face covering is better than nothing,” but you still shouldn’t buy N95 face masks even if you do manage to find them online or in a nearby store. Doctors, nurses, first responders, and others on the front lines of the war against the novel coronavirus have a far greater need than you do, and there is still a terrible shortage of masks and other PPE.
While it’s true that something is better than nothing, there are certainly degrees of effectiveness based on the materials and design you use. The masks in the guide linked above are more effective than any basic cloth masks, for example, but now we’ve found a guide for DIY coronavirus face masks that are even more effective than those. The guide comes from the same YouTube channel, and the vlogger basically tried to reverse-engineer an N95 mask. The end result is NOT as effective as a medical-grade respirator, of course, but it’s easily one of the best face mask designs we’ve come across. In fact, it even has its own integrated virus neutralizer.
That said, this mask is a bit more complicated than the one above and there are definitely more materials that you’ll need to make it. Here’s the full materials list:
- Virus Neutralizer
- Outer Layer: Option 1, option 2, option 3
- Middle Layer
- Inside Layer
- Oil Absorbing Pads
- Silicone
- Silicone gun
- White Tape
- Black Tape
- Elastic
Once you’ve got all that ready to go, you’ll find all the instructions you need in the video embedded below.
