Reminder: You’re crazy if you have Verizon and you don’t get your free year of Disney+
Happy anniversary, Disney+! Everyone’s favorite new streaming service is finally here, and it launched exactly one week ago today. Are we going to celebrate the arrival of Disney+ again every single week, month, and year? No, but we thought the service’s one-week anniversary would be the perfect time to remind our readers that there’s a wonderfully easy way to get a full year of Disney+ for free. That’s right… despite the facts that Disney+ is brand new and that it’s the hottest streaming service in America right now, there’s already a way to get the service for a full year without paying a single cent.
As popular as Disney+ already is, and as much fantastic content as it has in its catalog on day one, Disney could probably get away with charging at least as much as Netflix for the service. Right out of the gate on launch day, there were already an astounding 639 different movies and shows available to stream on Disney+. But instead of trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of subscribers, Disney decided to make its new streaming service shockingly affordable. Somehow, Disney+ costs $6.99 each month if you pay monthly, or just $5.83 per month if you pay annually. That price point makes the service a must-have — but even at that price, there’s no reason to pay for it if you can get it for free.

Galaxy S11 might have a boring design, but it’s getting a hot display feature
Samsung built its mobile success on copying the iPhone in the early years, and whatever Apple does still influences Samsung’s decisions. But if there’s one iPhone trick that Samsung couldn’t replicate successfully so far, that’s recycling last year’s phone design. Apple used to launch a new iPhone design every couple of years, but that trend stopped with the iPhone 6, a design that Apple kept in place for three more years, for the iPhone 6s, 7, and 8 series. The iPhone X design was then used for all 2018 and 2019 devices, and the company is expected to drop a new iPhone design next year. Samsung’s Galaxy S9, meanwhile, was almost a Galaxy S8 replica that sported better specs and camera features. But the phone didn’t sell as well as expected. The Galaxy S10’s hole-punch display turned things around for Samsung. An insider claimed recently that Samsung won’t make any huge changes to the Galaxy S11 next year. However, the phone is still expected to deliver a display feature not available on any other Galaxy model to date.

NASA has a rock radio station, and the promo video is hilariously cringey
What are you listening to today? Spotify? Apple Music? iHeartRadio? Whatever it is, it can’t possibly compete with Third Rock Radio. You’ve never heard of Third Rock Radio, and I don’t blame you. It’s a radio station that is run with the help of NASA, and in years of being a total science nerd I never even knew it existed.
It does, however, exist, and it’s been running for over eight years. NASA recently decided to remind everyone of this fact by republishing a short promo for the station. I have no idea why this is a thing.

Don’t be surprised if this Galaxy Fold 2 concept looks better than the real thing
The second generation of Samsung’s foldable smartphone has been all-but-confirmed for a 2020 release, with evidence of an imminent launch for the Galaxy Fold 2 having shown up on official channels in recent days.
We got this official sneak peek of the Fold 2 last month at the Samsung Developers Conference. We still have a lot of questions about the device, starting with the name (we’re calling it the Galaxy Fold 2 for now, until Samsung decides on the official branding it will go with). The early hints suggest the design will be similar to that of the new Motorola Razr and be a bit of a departure from the initial version of the Fold that launched in September.
Meanwhile, one Instagram account has gone ahead and released a concept image that tries to visualize what the next version of Samsung’s experimental foldable phone might look like, which you can check out below.

Archaeologists found ancient babies wearing skulls like helmets
Archaeologists in Ecuador have uncovered the remains of babies buried over 2,000 years ago. It would be an interesting find no matter the context, but these infants are leaving researchers scratching their heads for a very specific reason: The children were buried in “helmets” made from the skulls of other, older children.
The discovery is the subject of a new paper published in Latin American Antiquity. The team studying the site, led by Dr. Sara Juengst, was left struggling to explain the symbolism behind the apparently rare custom, as it’s the first time archaeologists have found anything like it.

Samsung is working on a phone design unlike anything ever seen on a Galaxy device
Samsung is expected to launch at least three flagship smartphones next year, including the Galaxy S11, Fold 2, and Note 10. But when it comes to design changes, only the Fold 2 is expected to get a significant makeover, according to recent reports.
The Galaxy S11 and Note 11 may look a lot like their predecessors, although Samsung will probably add discrete changes in order to help consumers tell all of their phones apart. However, Samsung is also working on smartphone designs unlike anything seen on the Galaxy S or Note series so far.
