What Marvel has achieved with its Infinity Saga is unparalleled in the history of cinema. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame brought us an amazing, emotional conclusion to the first decade of MCU films, with the latter shattering records and expectations. It’s no wonder, therefore, to have seen Disney push the movie for a Best Picture Oscar nomination, as well as several other awards.

What was surprising at the time, however, was the absence of actor endorsements, especially that of Robert Downey Jr. But now Disney has updated its For Your Consideration list to include not only the Iron Man actor, but also plenty of other Avengers.

If you’re trying to build something that won’t sink, making it out of metal seems like a terrible idea. We make boats and ships out of metal because it’s sturdy and lasts a long time, but it weighs a lot and, if something goes wrong, there’s nothing stopping it from sinking to the bottom.

Researchers from the University of Rochester have come up with a potential solution. It’s a metal that absolutely hates water, strongly repelling it and creating pockets of air that allow the metal to float under just about any circumstance. Its inventors believe it could revolutionize ship design and create truly unsinkable boats.

A bizarre glitch finally sends out tons of delayed text messages from February

Tons of smartphone owners, no matter if they use Android or iOS devices, got a strange surprise overnight. Reports have trickled in all day on Thursday of long-delayed text messages (from around February, specifically Valentine’s Day, this year) finally arriving. Weirder still, they appear to be messages that were never sent in the first place and are only just now showing up on the phones of their intended recipients.

As if that wasn’t weird enough, the problem seems to span every major carrier. Social media is replete with mentions about the issue from customers of T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon — in addition to Canadian carriers as well as Google Voice users, to name just a few. And that doesn’t even cover them all.

‘Pokemon Go’ adds Team GO Rocket boss fights

A few months ago, Pokemon Go received a massive update that saw the introduction of Team GO Rocket. These nefarious villains were taking over PokeStops and corrupting Pokemon all over the world, and now, as of this week, their leaders have made their way into the game as well to cause even more havoc.

As developer Niantic revealed in a blog post on Thursday, Team GO Rocket Leaders Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo can now be encountered in Pokemon Go. Locating them is a challenge within itself, and once you finally find them, you’ll be presented with some of the more difficult battles the mobile game has to offer.

Thanks to a bit of sleuthing, some code has been uncovered that seems to point to one of the neatest features of the Pixel 4 making its way into an upcoming Samsung Chromebook codenamed “Kohaku.”

The feature in question is Ambient EQ, which allows the Pixel 4’s display to adopt the color and brightness level of the ambient lighting around the phone in the room that it’s in. It seems the feature is also destined for Chrome OS — and is specifically headed for the aforementioned yet-to-be-released Samsung Chromebook.

NASA is bound and determined to send humans back to the Moon by 2024. The space agency was headed back there anyway, but a mandate from the Trump administration is pushing them to complete its Moon return much sooner than originally planned, and NASA has been scrambling to get things in order.

One of its biggest needs is a lunar lander. A vehicle that can land on the Moon and then send astronauts back into space so they can return to Earth is, as you might imagine, extremely important. Luckily for NASA, Boeing is here to help, and this definitely won’t end terribly.

Ahead of the release of the PlayStation 5 next year, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced some moves that are meant to put the company in the best position possible to ensure the PS5 has a strong launch.

The changes unveiled Thursday include former Guerrilla Games studio head Hermen Hulst being tapped to head Worldwide Studios, where one of his job responsibilities will be to keep the pipeline of first-party hit games for the PS5 constantly humming. Meanwhile, current Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida is leaving that role to head up a newly formed initiative focused on “nurturing external independent creators.”
