Pixel 4 has a huge flaw that no software update is going to fix
Google has started fixing the Pixel 4 with the help of software updates, which has become sort of an annoying tradition for the phone series. For the time being, Google solved the Smooth Display issue, and it still has to fix the 3D face unlock security lapse that lets you unlock the phone even when your eyes are closed. But it turns out the Pixel 4 has a massive flaw that no amount of software updates can fix. It bends.

Boeing’s Starliner falls short of perfection in launch abort test
Boeing’s Starliner has seen many, many delays, cost overruns, and setbacks during its lengthy development. NASA is paying Boeing a fortune for its work on the crew-capable spacecraft, and it’s yet to see a return on that significant investment. On Monday, Boeing had a chance to show that the Starliner project was nearing the finish line with a launch abort test to demonstrate the capsule’s ability to keep the crew safe in the event of a serious failure during launch.
The spacecraft proved to be “acceptable,” according to NASA, but it wasn’t perfect. It managed to safely push itself away from the pad, which is exactly what it is designed to do, but one of its three parachutes failed to open during its descent.

Critics panned the shows, but at least Apple TV+ is getting praised for one thing
Apple’s new streaming TV service Apple TV+ has been live since Friday, and it’s certainly garnered widespread headlines since launch. Not all of it has been to Apple’s liking, as early reviews from critics widely panned Apple’s marquee original series like The Morning Show and For All Mankind. The reaction from viewers has been another story entirely, as it’s not hard at all to find viewers on social media raving about both of those as well as some of Apple’s other early offerings that comprise the Apple TV+ launch slate.
The difference between the critics’ score and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes for both of the two shows we mentioned above is also interesting — lopsided, to be more specific, with audiences rating the shows much higher than critics. That dynamic is most pronounced with The Morning Show, which at the time of this writing has a 59% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 95% rating from viewers.
Separate from the shows, meanwhile, there is actually one aspect of Apple’s new streamer which has actually come in for strong praise: The video quality of the shows themselves.

‘Pokemon Sword and Shield’: Complete Pokedex leaks days ahead of launch
It’s hard to believe that we’re just a week out from the first mainstream Pokemon titles to ever hit a home console, but on November 15th, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will launch around the world. It has been three years since Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon hit the 3DS, which explains why anticipation for the new titles is through the roof, and also why leaks have been springing at an accelerated pace over the past few weeks.

The 30 most-watched shows on Netflix and other major streamers in October
The month of October was a jam-packed four weeks on the streaming content front, offering viewers everything from new episodes of Peaky Blinders on Netflix to HBO’s juicy family drama Succession which has proven to be catnip for media- and Hollywood-obsessed audiences. Meantime, audiences also had plenty of new-ish material that was still popular during the month which they spent plenty of their streaming hours on — series like Amazon’s fantasy drama Carnival Row, as well as Netflix staples like Breaking Bad and Stranger Things.
As we’ve reported in various ways for weeks now, November will totally up-end the streaming game on a permanent basis going forward with the launch on November 1 of Apple TV+ and the November 12 debut of Disney+ — two new streamers that bring a variety of strengths to the battle for eyeballs. Meantime, though, as we bring you on a weekly and monthly basis, it’s always interesting to see what viewers are spending most of their time on to binge-watch, and figures are now in showing what series were the most popular during October.

Voyager 2 escaped the Solar System, and it’s telling NASA the secrets of interstellar space
NASA launched the Voyager 2 space probe in August of 1977. It’s since spent nearly four decades making its way out of the massive bubble called the heliosphere which is generated by the Sun and contains our entire Solar System. It accomplished that feat roughly a year ago, traveling into interstellar space and leaving our system for good.
This week, several new research papers were been published using data sent back by Voyager 2, and they reveal some interesting things about the border between our solar neighborhood and the vast expanse of interstellar space.

The iPhone SE 2 could be a massive hit for Apple
A new investor note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo relays that Apple’s rumored iPhone SE 2 could prove to be far more popular than initially anticipated. In a note originally brought to light by MacRumors, Kuo claims that Apple’s iPhone SE successor could sell anywhere between 20 million and 30 million units this year. As far as a release date is concerned, it’s widely believed that we’ll see the iPhone SE 2 hit store shelves sometime in March of 2020. This launch window would make sense given that the original iPhone SE was released in March of 2016.
While the iPhone SE 2 could very well be immensely popular, it won’t necessarily be a device current iPhone SE owners are interested in. According to Kuo — who has a solid track record with respect to Apple rumors — the iPhone SE 2 will incorporate a 4.7-inch display along with Touch ID. By way of contrast, the original iPhone SE boasted a 4-inch display. In other words, the iPhone SE 2 will bear a form factor closer to the iPhone 8 than to the compact form factor that defined the original iPhone SE.

The Galaxy S11’s camera might be the phone’s most exciting new feature
Samsung has reportedly finalized the Galaxy S11, and leaks aren’t far behind. While we’ve yet to see any Galaxy S11 schematics or renders hit the web, we keep hearing things about the phone’s camera. And from the looks of it, the camera might turn out to be the phone’s biggest selling point.
That’s hardly a surprise, as the leading smartphone vendors are fighting a fierce battle when it comes to camera quality. Apple, Google, and Huawei are just some of Samsung’s rivals engaged in these new camera wars. And Samsung’s Galaxy S11 might pack a few features that were not available on any of its predecessors, or on competing devices. A new rumor further emphasizes how valuable the camera experience is for Samsung, spoiling one major detail.

AT&T will pay a $60 million fine for throttling its ‘unlimited data’ plans
From now on, AT&T is going to be prohibited from making any official representations about its mobile data speeds and amounts “without disclosing any material restrictions on the speed or amount of data.”
That’s according to a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission announced on Tuesday, which also includes AT&T paying $60 million to resolve allegations that it misled millions of smartphone users. How? By charging them for supposedly unlimited data plans while also reducing their data speeds.
