A vaccine is our best hope of reaching the level of immunity that can prevent severe outbreaks. It’ll take years to get there even if the first vaccines are ready to be deployed as soon as late 2020 or early next year. It’s not enough to make a vaccine that’s both effective and safe, we also have to find ways to manufacture billions of doses as fast as possible and ship them all over the world. Dr. Anthony Fauci and his colleagues already explained the challenges ahead in a paper on the matter, and Bill Gates provided even more details about how vaccine research and development will move forward.

The good news in all of this is that we have more than 100 vaccines in development, which means scientists have various ideas about how to prevent COVID-19. Some of them have already begun testing, and the preliminary results will be ready soon. Others are getting ready for human trials, including a company in Canada that has an unusual way to create the active substance in the vaccine: The company is growing it in a plant.

Fever, cough, and shortness of breath are thought of as the most common uncommon coronavirus symptoms, as we were told in the early days of the outbreak. Because of that, an actual test is needed to confirm infection with the novel coronavirus since fever, cough, and shortness of breath can also appear with other medical conditions, like the flu. As doctors obtained more data from COVID-19 patients, they started observing additional signs that can be associated with the infections. Muscle pain, chills, and sore throat can be indicative of COVID-19, but they’re still not unique enough to diagnose the illness. Then, we learned about some unusual symptoms. The sudden loss of smell and taste, neurological and cardiac manifestations, as well as skin lesions can all be caused by the novel coronavirus.

Researchers confirmed that the sudden loss of smell and taste is caused by the virus, and they have explained the phenomenon in great detail. But just as that happened, studies revealed that some of the symptoms we’ve been trained to look for might not be there. • AirPods Pro wireless earphones with active noise cancellation are down to the lowest price ever at Amazon, but this surprising deal will undoubtedly disappear soon.
• The new deeper discount drops AirPods Pro to just $227.99 at Amazon, beating the previous all-time low from Black Friday and Cyber Monday last year.
• Amazon’s new all-time low comes courtesy of an extra discount that gets applied at checkout, but the added discount will almost certainly go away at some point on Friday or over the weekend.

Truth be told, there was absolutely no reason for Amazon to offer an even bigger discount than normal on Apple’s wildly popular AirPods Pro true wireless noise cancelling earphones this week. At full price, they’re already the most popular earbuds out there. Then, with the normal discount Amazon has been offering over the past month or so, they fly off the shelves. But for whatever reason, Amazon is apparently feeling generous so it slashed the price even further to $227.99. That’s $7 less than the retailer’s previous all-time low price that first appeared during Black Friday and Cyber Monday last year, and it’s definitely not going to last long.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Amazon is offering Apple’s popular noise cancelling earphones with a regular $14 discount, as it has been for several weeks now. But there’s an extra $7 discount that’s applied at checkout. What’s more, you can also see that they’re available with free one-day Prime shipping in some areas! There’s no telling how long the additional discount will be available, but our guess that it’ll disappear at some point today or over the weekend at the very latest, so this could be your last chance to grab these awesome earbuds at Amazon’s lowest price ever.
