‘The Witcher’ on Netflix already has stories for 7 seasons mapped out

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The team behind the upcoming Netflix fantasy series The Witcher has repeatedly brushed off comparisons to HBO’s Game of Thrones, which is understandable, considering both the unrealistic expectations that they might give rise to, as well as the unwanted connection to the critically reviled final season of the HBO series.

Nevertheless, if The Witcher turns out to be a hit for the streaming service, it could end up lasting just as long as the one series that it doesn’t want to be compared to. In SFX magazine issue 320 (via PCGamesN), showrunner Lauren Hissrich revealed that she has already mapped out “seven seasons” of the show, despite the fact that Netflix has yet to even renew The Witcher for a second season (at least, this was true at the time of writing).

The only source of Krispy Kreme donuts in all of Minnesota was just shut down

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

An enterprising college student has been forced to shut down his donut-reselling scheme after Krispy Kreme learned that he was buying hundreds of boxes of donuts and then reselling them on his Minnesota campus at double the price. Jayson Gonzalez’s money-making venture came to light after a local newspaper ran a story on his truly genius business plan.

You see, there are no Krispy Kreme locations in all of Minnesota, making it virtually impossible to live in the land of the 10,000 lakes and also regularly enjoy the mouth-watering treats. Gonzalez recognized the opportunity and stepped in to supply his fellow Minnesota natives with as many Krispy Kreme donuts as his car could carry.

Adobe finally released the first version of Photoshop for the iPad

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After more than a year of anticipation, Adobe today finally introduced a version of its iconic Photoshop app for the iPad. The app was built using the same codebase as the desktop version, which is to say that iPad users will not have to worry about file conversions, funky import/export issues, or degradation in photo quality when working on projects.

All the same, some of the UI had to naturally be tweaked to account for a touch-based interface. What’s more, users shouldn’t expect to see a feature set on par with the desktop version — this is a 1.0 release, after all — but Adobe notes that it’s planning to continuously add features on a steady basis over the coming months.

Insider discusses new gaming experiences that’ll be enabled by the PlayStation 5

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Come next fall, players will be treated to new experiences made possible by next-gen consoles’ more powerful hardware. Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Scarlett will feature custom CPUs and GPUs made by AMD, and both of them are expected to pack speedy SSDs rather than spinning HDDs, as is the case for the current generation of consoles. Both Sony and Microsoft detailed the specs of their upcoming consoles, although we’ve heard more things about the PS5 when it comes to performance, especially on the SSD side. The new solid-state drive should make loading times a thing of the past on new consoles, with a developer already envisioning how games might take advantage of the faster speeds to eliminate loading screens and replace them with better cinematics. The more powerful hardware, meanwhile, is expected to support the creation of more realistic worlds for games.
