WHO says coronavirus ‘may never go away’
- The World Health Organization (WHO) said the novel coronavirus “may never go away,” echoing remarks from other experts on the matter.
- A few days ago Dr. Anthony Fauci said there’s little chance that the virus will ever be eradicated.
- While COVID-19 may become endemic like the flu, there are plenty of promising treatments in development that will speed up recovery and reduce complications, making the disease a lot more manageable than it is right now.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
The novel coronavirus threat remains even if your community may have loosened lockdown restrictions in the past few days, attempting to return to some sense of normalcy. The curve may have been flattened in some countries and regions, but the virus isn’t going anywhere. As long as there are people carrying the virus, COVID-19 will not just disappear. The only way it can be eradicated would be with the help of a global mandatory vaccination campaign, but that would be a logistical nightmare. And that that assumes vaccines will actually work, because we have no guarantees for the time being. Also, it’s unclear how long COVID-19 immunity will last and how likely it is for patients who survived the disease or were inoculated with a viable vaccine to be reinfected in the future. In other words, COVID-19 is here to stay, and that’s exactly what the WHO had to say about the new disease.

Scary study shows you can spread coronavirus just by talking
- A new study shows that a person talking loudly can emit tiny droplets that carry the novel coronavirus, which can then float for several minutes in the air.
- The research offers proof that social distancing and the use of face masks can protect people from infection.
- The findings can also explain how asymptomatic patients might transmit the virus without sneezing or coughing.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Microscopic droplets containing the novel coronavirus help the virus spread to others with ease. We’ve known this for months, and that’s why hand-washing, social distancing, and the use of protective gear such as face masks are all required. If those droplets reach your eyes, mouth, or nose, you can get infected. And you don’t even have to inhale droplet-filled air for it to happen. Those droplets can land on surfaces after a sneeze or a cough and that’s how the virus can infect you. But there’s increasing evidence that suggests just speaking is enough to spread the virus, and a new study provides more proof.

Wondering where all the webcams went? There are finally some at Amazon that aren’t price-gouged
- Over at Amazon, nothing is more popular right now than face masks and the site’s best-selling 3-layer face masks are back in stock and shipping quickly.
- Aside from masks though, webcams are in very high demand and most popular models have been sold out for months.
- Some webcam models are finally starting to come back in stock, though price-gouging remains a huge issue on Amazon since webcams are still in stuck high demand.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Among our readers, there is absolutely no question that face masks make up the top-selling category of product right now — and it just so happens that Amazon’s best-selling face masks are back in stock today, in case you’ve been waiting. It’s pretty easy to understand why they’re so popular since the CDC recommends that people wear this type of face mask for protection anytime they leave their homes. They’re not as effective as medical-grade face masks, of course, but they’re more than good enough to protect you and those around you if you also practice social distancing and good hygiene.
Apart from face masks, the second-most popular type of product people want right now is a webcam. Most nonessential businesses are still closed at this point, and if they’re smart they’ll probably be closed until at least sometime in June. That means you’re in store for a whole lot of video conferencing in the weeks and potentially months to come. Even if you don’t use video for work or school, there’s a good chance you use them to chat with family and friends. Tired of holding up your phone the whole time? Don’t worry, because webcams are finally starting to arrive back in stock at Amazon.
Head over to Amazon’s webcam page to scroll around and check them out, but there are a few in particular that are shipping out soon at prices that are actually quite reasonable. If you’ve shopped for a webcam anytime recently, then you know that prices have been gouged for months now. A simple webcam that might have sold for $30 or $40 earlier this year can now easily cost $150, $175, or even more. Amazon isn’t doing anything to stop it, but luckily we’ve found a few options that are in stock right now at reasonable prices.
The Logitech C270 Webcam is one of the most popular models out there, which makes sense considering how big Logitech is in this space. This model is ready to ship right now, and while prices were over $200 at one point, it’s back down in the $80-range for the time being.
C270 HD Webcam: $103.99
If you want a solid upgrade to a 1080p model and you don’t care about the Logitech brand since they’re pretty much all on par anyway these days, the Weicha 1080P HD Webcam with Microphone is in stock for $54.99 and new orders will be delivered this week. You can also get Web Camera Full HD Webcam for $48.99 right now and it’ll ship out almost as quickly.
1080P HD Webcam with Microphone, Webcam for Gaming Conferencing, Laptop or Desktop Webcam, USB…: $54.99
Full HD Web Camera 1080p USB Streaming Manual Focus Camera with Microphone for Laptop and Deskt…: $48.99
Last but not least, if you want to spend as little as possible you can pick up a Joupugi 720p HD USB Webcam right now for just $32.99. It’ll take a little bit longer to ship, but it still should arrive next week if you order soon.
joupugi HD USB Webcam, Plug & Play 720P Web Camera,Build in Microphone for Live Class Conferenc…: $32.99

Don’t miss these 10 hidden Amazon device deals
- Head over to Amazon right now and you’ll find that the retailer’s daily deals page has been completely hidden, so you’re probably not even aware of all the Amazon devices that are on sale right now.
- Deals you won’t find advertised anywhere on the site include everything from the Fire TV Stick 4K at its lowest price ever to great deals on the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5, and so much more.

Amazon’s deals on Apple’s true wireless noise cancelling earbuds have been best-sellers all month long with our readers, which totally makes sense considering AirPods Pro are on sale at Amazon’s lowest price from Black Friday last year. Even more people have been rushing to get their hands on Jointown 3-Ply Face Masks, which are in stock right now at just $0.78 each. Those are fantastic deals and there are plenty more where that came from, but they’re not easy to find for most people because Amazon’s daily deals page is now hidden.
Amazon may have shifted much of its focus away from shipping nonessential products so that it can ship more medical supplies to hospitals and state governments. It may have also hidden its deals page temporarily, though we already told you the trick to finding it. None of that can stop Amazon from offering fantastic deals on its own Amazon devices though, and there are a whopping 10 different device deals that we need to tell you about right now.
First up, Amazon’s wildly popular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale at its lowest price ever with coupon code 4KFIRETV, but there’s a catch: this deal is only available to select customers. You can learn more here, but the gist of it is you’ll only find out if the coupon works for you by trying it.
Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Dolby Vision, includes Alexa Voice Remot…: $24.99 (use code 4KFIRETV)
Sticking with the Fire TV theme for a bit longer, you’ll find the best-selling Toshiba 32-inch Fire TV Edition Smart TV on sale for $159.99, but there are only a few left in stock so we expect this model to sell out shortly.
Toshiba 32LF221U19 32-inch Smart HD TV – Fire TV Edition: $179.99
If you’re looking for a new Alexa smart speaker, today is definitely the day to pull the trigger. Echo Dots are on sale for just $39.99 each and the Echo Dot with Clock is $15 off right now if you buy one this week.
Amazon’s awesome $130 Echo Show 8 is $40 off and the Echo Show 5 is $30 off. Finally, the $100 3rd-Gen Echo speakers are down to $79.99 apiece when you buy two with the coupon code ECHO2PK.

Echo (3rd Gen)- Smart speaker with Alexa- Charcoal: $159.98 (use code ECHO2PK)
Also in the Echo family, the Echo Spot alarm clock is on sale for $89.99 instead of $130, which is great because this popular new device almost never goes on sale. You can also buy two with the coupon code ECHOSPOT2PK and get them for $74.99 each thanks to a huge $110 discount.
Echo Spot – Smart Alarm Clock with Alexa – Black: $74.99 – $89.99 (use code ECHOSPOT2PK)
Last but certainly not least, there are two great deals right now on Kindle eBook readers. Pick up a $130 waterproof Kindle Paperwhite for $94.99, no coupon needed, or you can snag a $90 Kindle for $64.99.

I can’t stop staring at this stunning futuristic iPhone 12 design
- Apple may be forced to delay its iPhone 12 release date, but we already know plenty about the phone now that Apple’s iPhone 12 series design has been finalized.
- The new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models will feature an overhauled design and plenty of new functionality, but we’re not expecting very much in terms of hardware innovations.
- A graphic designer has envisioned what the iPhone might look like with some exciting new hardware features that include a capacitive volume button and a secondary OLED display on the back of the phone.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
We still have no idea whether or not Apple’s iPhone 12 release date will be delayed. If countries like the United States and China keep their shelter in place orders for a while longer, they should do a decent job of reducing the impact of the novel coronavirus’s inevitable second wave. If the start reopening businesses too early like Trump wants and like some states already are, experts have warned that the second wave of COVID-19 infections could be as bad or even worse than the first one.
These are obviously huge issues for obvious reasons pertaining to health and safety, but they also impact product launches like Apple’s new iPhone 12 series. If a massive second wave of coronavirus infections sweeps certain regions, manufacturing could be delayed. On the other hand, if the economies in Apple’s biggest markets like the US remain closed for several more months, tens of millions of people will remain unemployed. Needless to say, buying a new iPhone will be the last thing on their minds and sales could take a huge hit as a result.

These are the 70¢ coronavirus face masks everyone’s swarming Amazon to get
- Amazon’s best-selling 3-layer face masks are back in stock and just dropped to a new all-time low price of just 70¢ per mask.
- The CDC states that everyone needs to wear a face mask anytime they go outside, whether it’s to a high-risk location like a grocery store or even just to go out and take a walk
- Strict face mask policies along with social distancing and good hygiene are the only way to start getting back to normal in other areas of our lives and prevent the inevitable second wave of novel coronavirus infections from being as bad as the first.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
There will be a second wave of novel coronavirus infections. It’s inevitable and it’s completely impossible to avoid. Dr. Fauci has said it on multiple occasions and so have countless other experts who put reality ahead of politics. Until there’s an effective vaccine that’s is widely available, there is simply nothing we can do to eradicate COVID-19.
Now, just because there’s a second wave coming doesn’t mean we have to stop reopening the economy. Quite the contrary, in fact. But there are three things we all need to do now that businesses are reopening across the country if we want to ensure that the second wave of novel coronavirus infections is nowhere near as bad as the current one. First, we need to practice strict social distancing. Second, we need to practice good hygiene and use hand sanitizer (which is in stock right now at Amazon) anytime we touch any surface while in public. And third, we need to wear face masks anytime we leave the house for any reason whatsoever.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $34.99 ($0.70 / Mask)
You need to wear a face mask when you go out. Period. Even the CDC says so. People with nonessential jobs are being advised to continue to shelter in place right now but even as businesses start to open up, you should still continue to quarantine yourself and only go out when you absolutely must. When you do have to go out to pick up groceries or do something else that is absolutely necessary, the CDC advises us all to use some type of protective face covering in order to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus. That DOES NOT mean you should wear an N95 mask or even the KN95 masks that are now flooding the market from China. As long as you practice social distancing and good hygiene, a standard face mask will do just fine.
There are a bunch of different options out there that won’t block healthcare professionals from getting the medical-grade face masks they all need so desperately. We recently told you how to quickly and easily make your own DIY face masks using supplies that you likely already have lying around your home, and they’re far more effective than other cloth DIY face mask instructions you’ll find online. If you want to step things up a bit, someone reverse-engineered an N95 face mask and posted instructions to make your own, complete with a virus neutralizer.
If you’re not the DIY type though, don’t worry because we have some excellent news for you.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $34.99 ($0.70 / Mask)
Last week, we told you that Amazon’s best-selling face masks by Jointown were back in stock and available to ship out right away. The wildly popular Jointown masks are linked above, and now there’s another best-seller that just came back in stock: XHW 3-ply face masks. This second option is sold by Amazon so orders might arrive even faster, and they’re only $0.80 per mask compared to a new all-time low of $0.70 for Jointown masks. Just note that the one-star review on there is from some moron who doesn’t understand that all of these masks are made in China and obviously cannot have live coronavirus on them by the time they arrive in the United States.
Both of these options are 3-layer masks that do a great job of blocking things from your airways and preventing the virus from spreading if you already have it — provided you also take the necessary precautions and practice strict social distancing. These are not N95 masks or medical-grade surgical masks, and that’s important to note. That said, the CDC recommends that we wear cloth face coverings like these masks anytime we leave the house. They’re also much better than most of the cloth DIY face masks that people are sharing plans for online right now.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $39.99 ($0.80 / mask)
When we told you about these face masks arriving back in stock on Amazon, tens of thousands of our readers rushed over to the site to buy them. Incredibly, however, these best-selling masks are still in stock and still available to ship right away. There are other face masks available right now on Amazon as well, so if shipping times start to slip back you can always use that page to find comparable masks. Another popular option among our readers lately is the even thicker Anntuk 4-ply face mask. It’s a bit pricier than the other ones we’ve mentioned, but plenty of people out there are willing to pay for the extra sense of security. If you ask us, the 3-ply masks are more than good enough.
Thick 4-Ply Face Shield with Elastic Ear Loop Cover Full Face Anti-Dust(1PCS): $14.99
The aforementioned face masks from Amazon and the two DIY masks we linked earlier in this article are all great options, and they’ll definitely do the job if you also remain vigilant. Stay at home unless you absolutely must go out. Practice social distancing and stay as far away from other people when you do have to leave the house. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer as frequently as possible, especially after touching surfaces outside of your home.

PS5 DualSense controller price was just leaked
- A person who has been providing regular PlayStation 5 rumors claims to know the actual price of the PS5’s new DualSense controller.
- One free wireless device will be bundled with each PS5 purchase, while standalone DualSense purchases will supposedly cost $59.99.
- The controller will hit stores on November 20th, which is the rumored release date of the PS5.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Sony said in its most recent earnings report that the PlayStation 5 will launch on time this holiday season, as originally planned. The company has acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted PS5 development, but the console should still arrive on time. Sony is far from announcing availability or pricing information for the console and hasn’t said anything about PS5 supply. People with inside information about Sony’s plans said in the past few weeks that a PS5 launch event is just around the corner. The console’s design could be unveiled officially as early as June 2nd, according to a leaker. The same person said a few times in the past few months that the console will launch on November 20th, with preorders set to start once Sony unveils the console. Now, the leaker claims to know the price of the brand new DualSense controller as well.

Insider says the Galaxy Note 20 model you want will never exist
- The Galaxy Note 20 series will not have an Ultra model, as it’s the case for the Galaxy S20 phones.
- An insider revealed specs details for both the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20+, which are in line with the Galaxy S20 series.
- The new Note will have a larger fingerprint sensor than other Samsung handsets, featuring Qualcomm’s new 3D Sonic Max tech.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
The Galaxy S20 series is one of the highlights of the first half of the year in terms of smartphone flagships, but the phone wasn’t quite the success Samsung wanted it to be. The device hit stores just as the world braced for the worldwide coronavirus health crisis, and most markets entered lockdowns soon after that. Smartphone sales were hurt in the process, as the world’s population was started prioritizing other purchases. Even without COVID-19, Galaxy S20 would have suffered thanks to Samsung’s surprising pricing policy for the series. The cheapest S20 you can buy starts at $999, which is $300 more than the cheapest iPhone 11. Since mid-February, Samsung started running all sorts of promos to sell more S20 stock, just as more Android vendors launched more affordable flagship featuring Galaxy S20-like specs. Samsung isn’t done launching phones with crazy specs, and the Galaxy Note 20 is the next in line. The phone is expected to launch in early August and will feature high-end hardware like the S20 series. Unlike the S20, however, the Galaxy Note 20 won’t have an Ultra version.

‘Matrix 4’ filming might re-start this summer, after a coronavirus delay
- The Matrix 4 release date of May 2021 still looks to be on track, at least for now. That’s thanks to the fact that filming on this fourth installment in the franchise, which was interrupted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic back in March once production moved to Europe, may get to pick back up again as soon as this summer.
- The Matrix 4 cast has signed extensions that keep them available through at least July 6.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Two months after production was halted thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, filming for the long-awaited fourth installment of the Matrix franchise may resume by this summer.
The film’s cast, which has been on hiatus since the production shutdown back in mid-March, has signed eight-week extensions that will keep them available and not free to pursue any other work through at least July 6. Variety reported the extensions on Wednesday, and the assumption is that it means production could resume in July or even earlier. Also important to know: As of now, the movie (unofficially dubbed Matrix 4) is still on track for its May 2021 release, as Warner Bros. has not yet said whether the temporary halt to production will knock the film’s schedule off-course.
