Amazon’s best-selling coronavirus face masks and hand sanitizers are back in stock
- After months of limited inventory that kept selling out, Amazon’s best-selling face masks and hand sanitizers are all back in stock at the same time right now.
- The Jointown 3-ply face masks that have been flying off the shelves are back at 78¢ apiece, and similar top-selling 3-layer face masks from XHW are back in stock as well.
- Hand sanitizers are back in stock as well, including the best-selling Zatural 62% alcohol hand sanitizer as well as 5-packs of Eco Finest 75% alcohol hand sanitizer.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
This is something that pretty much never happens these days thanks to the novel coronavirus pandemic, so we hope you’re sitting down right now: Amazon’s best selling-face masks and the retailer’s best-selling hand sanitizers are all back in stock right now. This is literally the first time this has happened in nearly two months, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on all the masks and sanitizer you need.
Where masks are concerned, the CDC makes it crystal clear on its website that EVERYONE should be wearing a mask right now anytime they have to leave their homes. you don’t need NIOSH-approved N95 respirators to walk around your local supermarket, so don’t run over to Craigslist and cough up $30 per mask for scammers who are shamelessly price gouging while taking away from N95 inventory that should be made available to hospitals. Instead, all you need is a decent multi-layer face mask like the best-selling Jointown 3-layer face masks that are back in stock at Amazon right now for just 78¢ each. Combined with social distancing and good hygiene, these masks will do a fantastic job of protecting you. That’s why they’re Amazon’s best-sellers, and that’s why tens of thousands of our readers have bought them over the past couple of weeks.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $38.99 ($0.78 / Mask)
In addition to those masks, Amazon’s other best-sellers are also back in stock today. They’re 3-layer face masks by XHW and they cost $39.99 per 50-count box. That’s just $1 more than Jointown masks and only 2¢ more per mask. They have a similar design and utilize similar materials to protect you, so they’re very effective when combined with social distancing and good hygiene.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $39.99 ($0.80 / Mask)
Everyone knows about social distancing these days, but what exactly constitutes good hygiene in the age of the novel coronavirus? Long story short, you need to wash your hands every time you touch any surface while in public. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a doctor’s office, a supermarket, or anywhere else.
Using soap and water isn’t exactly practical, of course, so you’re going to need hand sanitizer and it’s still impossible to find in supermarkets and drug stores. Lucky for you, Amazon’s two best-sellers are both back in stock. First, you can get a 2-pack of Zatural 62% ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer gel for $22.99 right now, which works out to $11.50 per 8-ounce bottle or $1.44 per ounce. In this day and age, that’s really not bad at all.
Hand Sanitizer – Rinse Free Waterless Hand Cleaner – 62% Alcohol – 4 Thieves Essential Oil Syne…: $22.99 ($11.50 per 8 oz. bottle)
If you want smaller 2-ounce bottles to carry around with you, there’s another best-seller that’s back at Amazon. BushKlawz Eco Finest 75% ethyl alcohol instant hand sanitizer is available in 5-packs for $23.99, which works out to $4.80 per bottle.
BushKlawz Eco Finest 5 Pack of 2 oz Rinse Free 75% Alcohol Instant Hand Sanitizer (5x Pack of 2…: $22.99 ($4.60 per 2 oz. bottle)

Google Maps just overhauled one of its most useful features
- A Google Maps update brings over a brand new user interface for the real-time location sharing feature of the app.
- The UI is cleaner and more intuitive than before but provides the same functionality.
- Location sharing should be even more comfortable, even to more inexperienced smartphone users.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
You may have been driving less than before in the past few months, because of the novel coronavirus social distancing measures that have been implemented in most countries, but navigation apps are still very useful. Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze all came out with new features to help users deal with the health crisis. Some of them included COVID-19 resources, like testing centers and warnings for users. Others made changes to business listings, like highlighting restaurants that deliver during the lockdowns. But the new features coming to navigations apps aren’t all related to the coronavirus. Google Maps made notable changes to the real-time location sharing user interface so that it’s even easier to use.

14-inch MacBook Pro to launch next year
- Apple is rumored to launch a 14-inch MacBook Pro laptop next year, which could replace the 13.3-inch model.
- The 13.3-inch MacBook Pro just got a significant upgrade, but the screen size wasn’t changed, as some fans had expected.
- Rumors also say that the 14-inch MacBook Pro could sport a mini-LED screen, a display technology that allows for thinner and lighter product designs.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Apple last fall increased the screen size of its biggest MacBook Pro from 15.6-inch to 16-inch without modifying its overall size. The bezels were reduced to accommodate the slightly bigger screen, and the 16-inch got plenty of other significant upgrades, including the new Magic Keyboard, better sound, and beefed up specs. We expected to see the same type of upgrade reach the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, and Apple almost delivered it a few days ago. The 2020 product refresh replicates most of the 16-inch model’s upgrades, aside from the screen size increase. The notebook still features a 13.3-inch LCD instead of a 14-inch panel. But the display upgrade is still in the works, new rumors say, and it might bring over another notable change.

Lava tubes on Mars could act as prebuilt homes for astronauts
- Crewed missions to Mars may rely on extinct lava tubes to provide shelter from radiation.
- Researchers tested how well lava caves on Earth block radiation and suggest that the same structures on Mars would make suitable homes.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Humans are headed to Mars, and we might be going sooner than you think. Assuming NASA’s crewed Artemis missions to the Moon go well, we could see a push to explore the Red Planet in person within the decade, with missions getting off the ground as early as the 2030s.
Many problems will need to be solved between now and then, of course. Not least of which is the question of where astronauts would live after arriving. Now, a new study suggests that ready-built homes might already be waiting for astronauts when they get there, as long as they know where to look.

Guess what Bill Gates privately warned Trump about right before he took office
- Bill Gates was among the stream of celebrities, business figures, and potential cabinet members comprising a steady stream of visitors to Trump Tower at the end of 2016 — with Donald Trump preparing to take office just a few weeks later.
- According to a new report, Gates delivered a warning to the president-elect during that December 2016: viral pandemics posed a grave threat to national security.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
The gold elevator doors closed, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ascended up Trump Tower in December 2016 for what would no doubt be one of the stranger meetings of his career.
It was some private facetime with then-president-elect Donald Trump, who was making a show of receiving visitors — who included everyone from celebrities like Kanye West to cabinet hopefuls — at Trump’s namesake Midtown Manhattan skyscraper where the Trump Organization is headquartered. In a broad sense, Gates told people afterward, he wanted to talk to trump about “science and innovation.” However, Gates also delivered a stark warning to the president … and you can probably guess where this is going.

In June 2018, at the E3 trade expo, Bethesda gave fans their first sneak peek at The Elder Scrolls 6. Skyrim, the fifth entry in the iconic franchise, first arrived on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 11th, 2011, and fans had to wait for the better part of a decade to see even a glimpse of the long-awaited sequel. Bethesda higher-ups Todd Howard and Pete Hines made it clear in subsequent interviews that the new game was still in the earliest stages of development, but nearly two years later, it must be closing in on a release date? Right?

After nearly two months of severe social distancing measures, several countries are looking to loosen restrictions and return to some sense of normalcy. The novel coronavirus has hardly been defeated, and new outbreaks are still possible. Some people have been lucky enough to be able to work from home, while others can’t wait to return to work. The entertainment business was put on hold as well, and several movie and TV series productions have been halted. The list includes several films and TV shows that Marvel is developing for MCU Phase 4.
While shooting has stopped for all projects that were in development in the past few months, post-production work has continued from home for some of them. The highly anticipated WandaVision TV series is one such project, but a new leak might spoil what happens in the show’s first three episodes.

Finding silver linings in the middle of a global health crisis can be difficult. This is one of the most challenging periods that most of us will ever live through, but the good news is that you can keep yourself and the people around you safe simply by staying inside. Of course, even that is easier said than done, but streaming services have made isolation far less daunting than it might have been otherwise. And over the past few weeks, some of the stars of our favorite series to stream have been doing their best to make our quarantines even more entertaining.
At the end of last month, the cast of Parks and Recreation reunited for a reunion special to raise money for COVID-19 relief. The special aired on NBC on April 30th and featured many actors that played big roles in the series, from Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Chris Pratt to Ben Schwartz, Jon Glaser, and even Paul Rudd.
Unfortunately, the cast of The Office has yet to announce a reunion of their own, but they did team up for a very sweet surprise over the weekend in the latest edition of John Krasinski’s YouTube show Some Good News.

‘Animal Crossing’ is so popular it’s now got its own version of Amazon
- The Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizon has proven to be one of the dominant pop culture forces during the coronavirus pandemic, selling more than 11 million copies through the game’s first two weeks on sale.
- The game is so popular that there’s now an Amazon-like store called Nookazon that lets users buy, sell, and trade game items, in addition to leaving reviews, and it gets more than a quarter of a million active daily users.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
For a few weeks after the mid-March debut of Tiger King on Netflix, it seemed like that was the only pop culture story everybody was talking about. Now that the coronavirus pandemic has continued to grind on, though, there’s arguably an altogether different pop culture phenomenon now that everyone is fixated on — it’s a video game in which players decorate an island and develop it to suit their tastes over time. The game, of course, is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and for some indication of how extraordinarily popular it’s become, partly as an oasis of calm while everyone quarantines at home, consider:
New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been visiting the game islands of her social media followers. Top fashion designers like Marc Jacobs and Valentino have launched new fashions in-game. And now the game also has its own Amazon-like store, called Nookazon, that allows players to buy, sell, and trade game items. And to leave reviews, making it all the more comparable to the real thing.

NASA’s Perseverance rover is so, so close to being ready for Mars
- NASA’s Perseverance rover is now packed up and ready for its trip to Mars.
- The rover was attached to the descent stage of the spacecraft that will carry it through space to the Red Planet.
- The rover could launch as early as July 17th.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Well, that’s (almost) a wrap for NASA’s Perseverance rover preparation procedures! The rover was recently put into its “launch configuration,” which is just a fancy way of saying that engineers gently crammed it into its enclosure that will serve as its temporary home as it makes the long journey from Earth to Mars.
Unsurprisingly, preparing a high-tech machine like Perseverance for a trip to another planet is a complicated affair. In a new blog post, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory explains what will happen once the tightly-packed rover actually makes it to the Red Planet.
