  • Microsoft will showcase the first next-gen gameplay on Xbox Series X during the latest episode of Inside Xbox on Thursday, May 7th at 11 AM ET.
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be featured along with other major third-party games.
  • Every game shown off will be “Optimized for Series X,” which means they will support the new hardware that Microsoft has packed into the Xbox Series X.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Microsoft has already told us nearly everything there is to know about the Xbox Series X. We know what it looks like, we know what the upgraded controller looks like, we’ve seen it deconstructed, we’ve learned about its specifications, and we know about its defining features. The one thing we haven’t seen is what next-generation games will look like running on the console, but on Thursday morning, that’s going to change.

Last week, Microsoft announced that the next episode of Inside Xbox would feature the first look at gameplay on the Xbox Series X. Microsoft did showcase some of the visual improvements of Gears 5 running on the next-gen console, but this is the first time we will see games developed specifically for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in action. If you want to watch it live, Xbox Inside begins at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on May 7th.

Unless you know where to look, it’s harder than ever to find good deals right now on Amazon because the retailer’s top deals page is now hidden. Things are finally starting to rebalance following Amazon’s recent move to devote a huge chunk of resources to delivering medical supplies for hospitals and government customers. That means lead times for many nonessential order deliveries are finally starting to come back down to a week or two instead of a month or even longer.

If you’re looking for great deals on popular products that are available to ship out soon, we’ve got a bunch of good news for you today. Amazon’s best-selling face masks are back in stock, for example, and Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro are discounted and ready to ship. But there’s another big sale right now on Amazon that you need to check out, and it covers some of the hottest personal audio products ever made.

Amazon is offering a bunch of great deals on popular Bose speakers and wireless headphones, and we dug through them all to pick out the five best bargains. Some of them are familiar deals that have returned somewhat unexpectedly considering Amazon’s current shift in focus away from nonessential products. Other deals are a bit more surprising, however, such as a deal no one saw coming that offers an extremely rare discount on the hot new Bose 700 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones.

Bose Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth Headphones 700, with Alexa Voice Control, Black: $349.00

Those are Bose’s latest and greatest ANC headphones and they’re by far the best model that Bose has ever made. That said, they’re still a bit pricey even with a discount that matches the all-time low, so there are two other Bose headphones deals you should definitely consider. The wildly popular Bose QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones get a $50 discount to $299, and Bose’s first and only true wireless earbuds, the Bose SoundSport Free, get an even bigger discount to an all-time low of $139 in one color while the other three colorways are down to $149.

Bose QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, Noise-Cancelling, with Alexa voice contr…: $299.00

Bose SoundSport Free, True Wireless Earbuds, (Sweatproof Bluetooth Headphones for Workouts and…: $139.00

If you’re looking for speakers instead, there are two Amazon deals in particular that you’ll likely be interested in. The Bose Solo 5 TV Soundbar Sound System everyone loves so much is down to $199 from $250, and the Bose Home Speaker 500 with killer sound quality and hands-free Alexa voice control gets a big $100 discount to $299.

  • Google Lens is an image recognition app that provides users with real-time information about whatever object or text they happen to point their camera at.
  • A new Google Lens update now lets users point their smartphone at a block of text, copy it, and magically paste it into a document on their computer.
  • The copy and paste feature even works on handwritten notes.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

One of the interesting things about Google is that the search giant has a lot of legitimately cool software that most people simply aren’t aware of. A prime example of this is Google Lens, an image recognition app for iOS and Android with a number of interesting and downright awesome features.

If you’re not familiar with Google Lens, it’s as fascinating as it is useful. One of the app’s cooler features allows you to point your smartphone camera at nearly any product — from a can of lemonade to a book to an Xbox controller — and the app will tell you what it is and where you can buy it online. Even better, you can point your camera at text in a foreign language and the app will translate it for you in real-time. The app supports more than 100 languages and is truly a godsend for folks traveling internationally.

5 things that’ll keep you from going crazy in coronavirus quarantine

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The coronavirus outbreak is ravaging various regions of the United States and things could get even worse now that some states are beginning to reopen nonessential businesses too soon.
  • As a result, citizens are presented with a challenge: can we continue to be responsible and stay in quarantine for at least another month to minimize the inevitable second wave of infections despite the reopenings?
  • People who care about their friends and neighbors will answer “yes” to the question above, and they’ll need some nifty new gear to keep themselves occupied in isolation.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

We have some good news: some experts believe that the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States will finally start getting better in the weeks to come. That’s the first ray of sunshine we’ve seen in a very long time, but it’s important that we don’t get ahead of ourselves. Before you get too excited about the possibility that things are starting to improve, it’s important to keep reminding yourself that it doesn’t mean things will soon go back to normal. They won’t. Unless we all continue to quarantine ourselves and only go out when we absolutely need to, there will be a horrific second wave of infections that will be devastating to our healthcare system and to our morale.

With all that in mind, there’s one thing you need to keep reminding yourself… this won’t last forever. It’s difficult since staying in isolation is in such stark contrast with the way we normally live our lives, but you have to focus on the big picture. Staying in quarantine will save lives. It will also help slow and ultimately stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, which is crucial since we all know that there’s no vaccine coming for at least 12 to 18 months. Even then, there’s no telling how much the virus will have mutated by that time, so we don’t know how effective a vaccine will be.

Now that you know you need to continue to stay home as much as possible for at least the next month or two, here are some key items that will help pass the time in self-quarantine.

A tablet

After weeks of spending tons of time together, you’re not always going to want to watch TV with the rest of your family. Also, you’re going to get tired of gaming and trying to read the news on your tiny smartphone screen. You’ll definitely want a great tablet, and the best option out there right now is Apple’s newest 10.2-inch iPad, which starts at just $279.99 instead of $329 right now at Amazon. If you’re looking to spend even less, Amazon’s Fire 7 Tablet, Fire HD 8 Tablet, and high-end Fire HD 10 are all on sale right now starting at just $39.99.

New Apple iPad (10.2-Inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) – Gold (Latest Model): $279.99

Fire 7 Tablet (7″ display, 16 GB) – Black: $39.99

Fire HD 8 Tablet (8″ HD Display, 16 GB) – Black: Price too low to display

Fire HD 10 Tablet (10.1″ 1080p full HD display, 32 GB) – Black: $109.99

Headphones

Spending quality time with your family is obviously important, but so is spending some time alone. A good pair of headphones is a must-have to help drown out the world around you, and Amazon has some great options that are still shipping despite the company’s new policy on delaying deliveries of nonessential items. AirPods Pro are in stock and shipping immediately, and they also happen to be on sale at the lowest price ever. You can also save a bunch of money on Apple’s AirPods 2 both with and without the wireless charging case.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.95

Apple AirPods with Charging Case: $139.00

Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case: $169.00

If you want a more affordable option, the TOZO T10 true wireless earbuds have literally tens of thousands of 5-star ratings on Amazon and they’re on sale right now for just $35.99.

TOZO T10 Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Earbuds with Wireless Charging Case IPX8 Waterproof TWS Stereo…: $35.99

As for a great pair of over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation, we’ve got two terrific options for you. The class-leading Bose 700 wireless noise cancelling headphones that blow everyone’s minds are discounted right now, and that’s pretty shocking since they almost never go on sale. If you want more affordable cans that still sound great, the TaoTronics SoundSurge 60 ANC headphones have fantastic reviews and they’re on sale for $49.99.

Bose Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth Headphones 700, with Alexa Voice Control, Black: $349.00

TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones [Upgraded] Bluetooth Headphones SoundSurge 60 Ove…: $49.99

An eBook reader

Tablets are great for reading the news and for reading books, but if you’re a big-time reader you’re definitely going to want a dedicated device that’s easier on the eyes. Needless to say, it doesn’t get any better than Amazon’s all-new Kindle and waterproof Kindle Paperwhite and you can save 20% if you buy two of either model or one of each.

Kindle Paperwhite – Now Waterproof with 2x the Storage – Includes Special Offers: $94.99

Board games

Even about stuff that lets you have fun on your own… what about spending some quality time with members of your family? You should definitely pick up some fun new board games — and Amazon knows how popular and important board games are, so they’re shipping out right away.

Best-Selling Board Games On Amazon: $7.88+

A streaming media player

The Roku Express HD and Roku Streaming Stick+ are both on sale right now with massive discounts, and they’re two of the most popular streamers ever. You can also pick up a Fire TV Stick 4K and have it delivered next week, or if you want to save a few bucks, Fire TV Stick 4K refurbs happen to be in stock right now.

This special Amazon page is full of coronavirus face masks in stock now

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • According to the CDC, everyone needs to wear face masks anytime they have to leave their homes.
  • Any face covering is believed to help when combined with social distancing and good hygiene, but specially made multi-layer face masks with several layers of material do a better job than simple face coverings like bandanas and cloth masks.
  • Amazon has created a special page on its site that is dedicated solely to face masks and other coverings, offering people a number of options to protect themselves when they have to leave the house.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Head over to the coronavirus page on the CDC’s website right now, and you’ll see the following recommendation: “cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others.” That means anytime you need to leave your house to do anything, be it shop for groceries, put gas in your car, or visit a doctor’s office, you need to wear something over your face. And here’s one more like from the CDC site that everyone should take note of: “Do NOT use a face mask meant for a healthcare worker.”

Any cloth face covering will play a big role in protecting you from the novel coronavirus as long as you also practice strict social distancing and good hygiene. Beyond that, it will protect other people around you in case you’re infected with COVID-19. This is crucial, but it doesn’t mean you should go buying up N95 face masks meant for healthcare workers and first responders. There’s a huge shortage of medical-grade masks right now, and using masks that are meant for people who are constantly at risk is shameful and selfish. That’s especially true since there are so many different options right now on Amazon that are in stock and ready to ship soon.

Face Masks and Protective Face Covers On Amazon: $8.99+

Amazon now has a special face mask page on its site that is dedicated solely to face masks and other protective covers. You’ll find plenty of different options there that range from surgical-style masks to various cloth covers. If you’d rather not browse through them all, we totally understand and we’re here to help. That’s why we’ve rounded up the three best-selling face masks on Amazon right now.

First, best-selling Jointown 3-Ply Face Masks are the single best selling masks on Amazon right now. These are great three-layer masks that do a much better job of protecting you and those around you than a bandana or most homemade masks. They’re currently on sale for $38.99 per box of 50, which works out to $0.78 per mask.

Face Mask, Pack of 50: $38.99 ($0.78 / Mask)

Next up, we have similar 3-Layer Face Masks From LeadPro. These are also top-sellers on Amazon right now and they do just as good a job as LeadPro’s masks. 50-packs are available right now for $39.99, which works out to just $0.80 per mask. That makes them just a touch more expensive than the top-seller linked above.

Face Mask, Pack of 50: $39.99 ($0.80 / Mask)

Last but certainly not least, we have the Annuk Thick 4-Ply Face Shield. These masks are much thicker and more rigid than the first two options and they filter smaller particles as well. They’re also more expensive, but it’s not a bad idea to keep a few around for special circumstances like if you have to go to the hospital or a doctor’s office.

  • A Marvel insider who shared accurate Endgame plot details before the movie launched is back with new information about the future of the MCU.
  • The leaker said on Twitter that Fantastic Four and X-Men will not be based on the central universe in the MCU.
  • Furthermore, the insider said that actors John Krasinski and Giancarlo Esposito are in talks with Marvel for leading roles.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is going to get even more exciting in Phase 4, as Marvel will likely place all sorts of events, characters, and Easter eggs in these movies and TV series that will pave the way for the arrival of the heroes you were dying to see in Avengers movies. The X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool will all make their MCU debut in the coming years, thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Fox. Only the Deadpool franchise will remain as it is, while both X-Men and Fantastic Four will be rebooted in the years to come. The latter is one of the highly anticipated Marvel movies, one that Marvel already confirmed it’s in the making. Kevin Feige name-dropped the project during the initial MCU Phase 4 reveal last July, without providing any details about it. Since then, we’ve witnessed an increased interest in the film as more and more rumors kept saying that John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will play two of the leading roles in the movie. Krasinski said he’d want to do it and teased the project as recently as a few weeks ago, but Marvel is yet to announce anything. However, an insider who provided plenty of details about Marvel’s plans in the past, including Endgame plot elements that proved to be correct, is back with an exciting revelation about Fantastic Four.

LG Velvet is a mid-range phone you should already forget

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • LG just launched a brand new phone in Korea after weeks of teasing it online, the LG Velvet.
  • The Velvet is a mid-range phone that has no exciting quality to warrant the $735 price, especially in a year when the coronavirus pandemic will have a massive influence on smartphone purchases.
  • The handset is more expensive than the newly launched iPhone SE and not as powerful as the Galaxy S20 or OnePlus 8 phones.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

LG started an ample teasing campaign for a new phone that we expected to replace the LG G series. The Velvet, LG called it, stressing on its novel camera design, as if camera design is a problem that needs fixing on current phones.
