This is Apple’s finalized iPhone 12 Pro design
- Apple’s iPhone 12 release date is almost certainly delayed at this point if a recent report from The Wall Street Journal is to be believed.
- Production has supposedly been pushed back by a month and while a firm release date is still unknown, Apple’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro designs have reportedly been finalized.
- Recent renders of the iPhone 12 Pro showed us a stunning new look, and now it seems certain that it is indeed Apple’s final iPhone 12 Pro design.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Reports have been going back for months regarding the timing of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 release. Several reports from reliable sources said that Apple’s release timing has been pushed back from its normal mid-September timeframe. At the same time, conflicting reports from sources that are typically just as reliable have said Apple’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro phones would be released on time, though supply could be constrained at launch. The most recent news on the subject comes from The Wall Street Journal, and it’s not good. According to the paper’s sources, Apple has pushed back mass production of its upcoming new iPhone 12 models by one month. It’s unclear exactly how that might impact Apple’s iPhone 12 release date, but it’s certainly not what Apple fans wanted to hear. In light of everything that’s happening right now with the novel coronavirus pandemic, however, it certainly shouldn’t come as a surprise.
If you’re an Apple had who has been keeping your fingers crossed that the first redesigned iPhone lineup since 2017 would hit store shelves on time, this new report is likely to ruin your day. If it’s any consolation, however, we have plenty of reason to believe that the recent peek we took at Apple’s leaked iPhone 12 Pro design is indeed the real deal and Apple’s new iPhones will be just as stunning as the leaks have suggested.

Everyone’s swarming Amazon for these coronavirus face masks
- The CDC recommends that we all wear face masks anytime we have to go outside, and Amazon’s best-selling 3-layer face masks are back in stock right now.
- When combined with strict social distancing and good hygiene, these masks do a terrific job of protecting you.
- With several states now beginning to ease shelter-in-place policies and reopen nonessential businesses far too soon, it’s more important than ever that you protect yourself from the inevitable second wave of infections.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Despite all the craziness you’re seeing right now, there is something important that you absolutely must keep in mind: unless you’re a doctor, a nurse, or a first responder on the front lines of the war against the novel coronavirus pandemic, you don’t need an N95 respirator face mask. Even if you somehow come across some N95 masks that are available to purchase, you absolutely shouldn’t buy them under any circumstances, and there are two main reasons. First and foremost, there’s still a horrible shortage of N95 face masks and people selling them on the black market are further reducing the number of masks that are available to the healthcare industry. Second, any N95 masks you come across right now will undoubtedly be severely overpriced, and they’re a waste of money if you don’t have a real need.
Should you ensure that you wear a face mask each and every time you leave your house right now? Yes, you absolutely should. Even the CDC says so. People with nonessential jobs are being advised to continue to shelter in place right now. Even if businesses start to open up in early May like the White House wants despite the advice of pretty much every expert out there, you should still continue to quarantine yourself and only go out when you absolutely must. When you do have to go out to pick up groceries or do something else that is absolutely necessary, the CDC advises us all to use some type of protective face covering in order to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus. That DOES NOT mean you should wear an N95 mask or even the KN95 masks that are now flooding the market from China. As long as you practice social distancing and good hygiene, a standard face mask will do just fine.
There are a bunch of different options out there that won’t block healthcare professionals from getting the medical-grade face masks they all need so desperately. We recently told you how to quickly and easily make your own DIY face masks using supplies that you likely already have lying around your home, and they’re far more effective than other cloth DIY face mask instructions you’ll find online. If you want to step things up a bit, someone reverse-engineered an N95 face mask and posted instructions to make your own, complete with a virus neutralizer.
If you’re not the DIY type though, don’t worry because we have some excellent news for you.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $38.99 ($0.78 / Mask)
Last week, we told you that Amazon’s best-selling face masks by Jointown were back in stock and available to ship out right away. The wildly popular Jointown masks are linked above, and now there’s another best-seller that just came back in stock: XHW 3-ply face masks. This second option is sold by Amazon so orders might arrive even faster. Just note that the one-star review on there is from some moron who doesn’t understand that all of these masks are made in China and obviously cannot have live coronavirus on them by the time they arrive in the United States.
Both of these options are 3-layer masks that do a great job of blocking things from your airways and preventing the virus from spreading if you already have it — provided you also take the necessary precautions and practice strict social distancing. These are not N95 masks or medical-grade surgical masks, and that’s important to note. That said, the CDC recommends that we wear cloth face coverings like these masks anytime we leave the house. They’re also much better than most of the cloth DIY face masks that people are sharing plans for online right now.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $39.99 ($0.80 / Mask)
When we told you about these face masks arriving back in stock on Amazon, tens of thousands of our readers rushed over to the site to buy them. Incredibly, however, these best-selling masks are still in stock and still available to ship right away. There are other face masks available right now on Amazon as well, so if shipping times start to slip back you can always use that page to find comparable masks. Another popular option among our readers lately is the even thicker Anntuk 4-ply face mask. It’s a bit pricier than the other ones we’ve mentioned, but plenty of people out there are willing to pay for the extra sense of security. If you ask us, the 3-ply masks are more than good enough.
Thick 4-Ply Face Shield with Elastic Ear Loop Cover Full Face Anti-Dust(1PCS): $14.99
The aforementioned face masks from Amazon and the two DIY masks we linked earlier in this article are all great options, and they’ll definitely do the job if you also remain vigilant. Stay at home unless you absolutely must go out. Practice social distancing and stay as far away from other people when you do have to leave the house. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer as frequently as possible, especially after touching surfaces outside of your home.

New Lenovo gaming phone will feature monster specs and a unique selfie camera
- An unannounced Android gaming phone from Lenovo teases monster specs, as well as a few features that aren’t available on other devices.
- The Lenovo Legion phone will come with a 144Hz display, 90W fast wired charging, and a side-mounted selfie camera.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Android gaming phones are practically high-end Android devices that come with improved screens, better cooling, and flashier designs that point out the fact that they’re gaming devices. Android vendors have been using these types of devices to push specs to the limit, packing these devices with more RAM and storage than regular flagships. However, the handsets don’t get access to better processors that the ones that power the latest flagships from Samsung, OnePlus, or Google. In fact, the new Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 series, as well as several other 2020 flagships, already feature monster specs themselves, so you wouldn’t need to worry about getting a gaming phone this year. Even so, smartphone makers are making gaming handsets, and Lenovo is about to release its first such device. The Lenovo Legion handset was featured in a bunch of leaks so far, and the newest one reveals a unique feature: A selfie camera that’s mounted on the side of the device, popping up when you need it.

Twitter is about to fix one of the worst things about Twitter conversations
- Twitter announced a major change to the user interface of its app that should make it easier to follow conversations and replies.
- The new feature will be rolling out to iPhone and the web first, Twitter revealed.
- The company is also considering changes to the Like, Retweet, and Reply icons, with a limited test already running on iOS devices.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Twitter may be great for firing off whatever is going through your mind at any given moment, but having a cogent conversation might not always be possible. That’s not because of the things people say, it’s because of how Twitter works. Chats can easily be derailed, and controversial topics might get out of hand, making it nearly impossible to keep track of who is saying what. But Twitter is about to fix conversations for good by implementing a threaded conversation mode that will not only feel familiar, but it’ll also help users talk to each other.

Life could exist on worlds we find hostile, scientists say
- Hydrogen-rich worlds may host life, according to a new research paper that shows microorganisms not accustomed to an atmosphere of hydrogen can survive and reproduce in it.
- The study proved that E. coli and yeast both continue to live despite the dramatic shift to a 100% hydrogen atmosphere.
- Going forward, the researchers say we should consider hydrogen-rich worlds as potential sources of alien life.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
When high-powered telescopes gaze deep into space in search of exoplanets, the worlds they discover are always interesting for one reason or another. The ones that are closest to Earth in size and composition are the most exciting, since we imagine rocky planets like our own offer the best chance at finding life.
Planets residing in the habitable zone around their star are even more exciting because they offer the slim possibility that liquid water exists on their surface. We imagine water as crucial to life, and oxygen is obviously a big plus, too. But what if we’re not giving Mother Nature nearly enough credit? What if worlds that are soaked in hydrogen and would be hostile to earthly life are actually suitable hosts for life in different forms?

If not for the novel coronavirus outbreak, we’d all be sharing our opinions on Black Widow right about now. The long-awaited solo movie for Scarlett Johansson’s dearly departed Avenger was originally scheduled to release on May 1st, 2020, but when all of the theaters closed down due to the pandemic, Disney pushed everything back. Black Widow is now set to hit theaters on November 6th, but we won’t have to wait that long for Marvel content.
In a recent article on Marvel.com, the company confirmed that Fury Files will be added to the Disney+ library on May 15th. As the name suggests, Nick Fury (voiced by Chi McBride) is the narrator, and he gives viewers the lowdown on some of the most popular heroes and villains of the Marvel universe.

Airbus wants its planes to sniff for coronavirus, chemicals, and bombs
- Airbus is developing a new system that can sniff out threats, including biological hazards.
- The system uses genetically engineered living cells to detect traces of various molecular compounds in the air.
- The system will begin testing later this year, the company says.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Airlines are struggling right now. It’s easy to see why, of course, with the novel coronavirus pandemic making it virtually impossible to travel, and various restrictions preventing companies from packing their planes full of passengers. Nevertheless, Airbus is working on a project that could make its planes safer not just from risks like chemicals or even bad guys with bombs, but viruses like the coronavirus, too.
In a press release, Airbus explains that its partnership with a company called Koniku is beginning to bear fruit, and the duo is getting closer to completing a system that could be capable of sniffing out threats.

Another coronavirus vaccine is starting clinical trials in the US
- German biopharmaceutical company BioNTech partnered with Pfizer on the development of an mRNA vaccine for the novel coronavirus.
- Their product reached the clinical phase trial stage, with Phase 1/2 testing already underway in Germany and the US.
- The first American volunteers will soon enroll in the trial, and the two companies say they may be able to manufacture hundreds of millions of doses next year, assuming the drug works.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
115 teams were working on COVID-19 vaccine candidates as of mid-April, according to Bill Gates, and some of those drugs have already reached human trials. Just last week, we learned of a company from German that started trials on an mRNA vaccine. BioNTech’s BNT162 is the compound in question, and the company partnered with pharmaceutical Pfizer to expand testing and manufacturing.
The two parties on Tuesday announced that the Phase 1/2 trial of BNT162 will start in the US as well. Assuming the drug can generate the desired immune response preventing infection with the novel coronavirus, millions of doses of the vaccine might be ready for emergency use this year, and hundreds of millions of doses could be mass-produced in 2021.

‘Halo 2: Anniversary’ is coming to PC on May 12th
- On Tuesday, Microsoft announced that Halo 2: Anniversary is coming to PC as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on May 12th.
- Halo, Halo 2, and Halo: Reach have all been added to the PC version of the collection, but Microsoft says Halo 3, ODST, and Halo 4 will be ready by the end of 2020.
- You can buy Halo 2: Anniversary separately for $9.99, or The Master Chief Collection for $39.99.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
When Halo: The Master Chief Collection debuted on Xbox One in 2014, the reaction was decidedly mixed. On one hand, it successfully bundled one of the most beloved video game series of all time into a single package with better visuals, better sound, and brand new cutscenes. On the other hand, online multiplayer was a mess, and that was the main draw of the collection. Thankfully, most of the major issues were addressed with patches.
Five years after Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched, Microsoft revealed that it would be bringing all of the games to PC too. On December 3rd, 2019, the collection arrived on Steam, but Halo: Reach (which had just recently been added to the Xbox One version) was the only playable title. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary joined Reach in March, and on Tuesday, Microsoft announced that Halo 2: Anniversary will come to PC on May 12th.
