Amazon’s 5 best-selling protein bars are finally all back in stock
- Given that getting some types of food is going to be challenging in the coming weeks and months, it’s a good time to stock up on protein bars in order to ensure that you’re getting enough protein.
- We regularly recommend Quest Hero bars because they’re the most delicious bars you’ll ever try, but they’re certainly not the only good options out there.
- We dug through Amazon’s most popular options to find the five best-selling protein bars on Amazon’s entire site, and you should definitely order some now before shipping times start to slip.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Those of you who regularly follow BGR Deals know that there is one type of protein bar we recommend above all others. That’s right, we’re talking about Quest Hero bars, which are sweetened with allulose. It tastes exactly like sugar but the body doesn’t metabolize it, so you don’t get all the calories and other downsides associated with sugar. They’re amazing and there are two flavors in particular that we love: Quest Hero Chocolate Bars and Quest Hero Blueberry Cobbler Bars. Just thinking about them is making us hungry… that’s how delicious they are.
As good as they are, Hero bars actually aren’t among the best-selling protein bars on Amazon. Anyone who has ever tried one will be shocked to find that out, but perhaps it’s only because not enough people know about them. In any case, the novel coronavirus pandemic means we’re all cooped up in our homes for a long time to come, and we might not be getting as much nutrition as we should. Or, if you plan to work out at home — and you definitely should — you’re obviously not going to be able to grab a protein bar or a shake on your way out of the gym. With that in mind, we dug through Amazon to find the five best-selling protein bars on the entire site, and you’ll find them all listed in order down below.

Netflix movies list: All 57 new movies coming to Netflix in May
- Netflix has announced its full slate of new releases for the month of May 2020, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest months of the year so far for the popular streaming content provider.
- We already gave you the complete rundown of Netflix original movies and TV shows set to premiere over the course of the month in May.
- Now, it’s time to take a look at all the new original movies and third-party licensed movies that will be coming to Netflix’s content catalog beginning next week.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Earlier this week, Netflix announced all of its new releases for the month of May and we went right to work. Our readers are always most interested in original Netflix content, so we stripped out all the fluff and gave you the complete schedule of Netflix original movie and series releases for May 2020. And when it comes to Netflix original shows, movies, and specials, May 2020 is packed full of hotly anticipated releases from start to finish.
Highlights include the interactive special Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy Vs. the Reverend, Magic For Humans season 3, a new stand-up special from Patton Oswalt and another stand-up special from none other than Jerry Seinfeld, and of course the premiere of Space Force season 1 at the end of the month. Created by Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) the show is inspired by Trump’s ridiculous space warfare branch of the military and it stars Steve Carell.
Now that we know about all the new Netflix original content set to debut next month, it’s time to shift focus to movies. Throughout the month of May, a whopping 57 different original and third-party movies will be added to Netflix’s ever-expanding catalog. There are definitely plenty of popular titles coming next month including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, the first two Back to the Future movies, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fun with Dick & Jane, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Patriot, District 9, The Lincoln Lawyer, and more. Then, toward the end of the month on May 25th, we’ll get what is likely the most eagerly awaited movie of the month that’s coming to Netflix: Uncut Gems, which many people believe was robbed at this year’s Oscars.
Wondering what else is in store for Netflix subscribers next month? You’ll find the full schedule of May 2020 movie releases down below.

Amazon’s best-selling face masks are definitely going to sell out soon
- Amazon’s best-selling face masks arrived back in stock last week and tens of thousands of our readers rushed to the site to place orders.
- We still don’t know how much inventory Amazon has right now, but the masks somehow didn’t sell out following the massive influx of orders.
- The best-selling masks, which are made by Jointown, feature the common 3-ply design that many people are seeking out and they’re believed to be quite effective when used in combination with strict social distancing and good hygiene.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Despite all the craziness you’re seeing right now, there is something important that you absolutely must keep in mind: unless you’re a doctor, a nurse, or a first responder on the front lines of the war against the novel coronavirus pandemic, you don’t need an N95 respirator face mask. Even if you somehow come across some N95 masks that are available to purchase, you absolutely shouldn’t buy them under any circumstances, and there are two main reasons. First and foremost, there’s still a horrible shortage of N95 face masks and people selling them on the black market are further reducing the number of masks that are available to the healthcare industry. Second, any N95 masks you come across right now will undoubtedly be severely overpriced, and they’re a waste of money if you don’t have a real need.
Should you ensure that you wear a face mask each and every time you leave your house right now? Yes, you absolutely should. People with nonessential jobs are being advised to continue to shelter in place right now. Even if businesses start to open up in early May like the White House wants despite the advice of pretty much every expert out there, you should still continue to quarantine yourself and only go out when you absolutely must. When you do have to go out to pick up groceries or do something else that is absolutely necessary, the CDC advises us all to use some type of protective face covering in order to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus. That DOES NOT mean you should wear an N95 mask or even the KN95 masks that are now flooding the market from China. As long as you practice social distancing and good hygiene, a standard face mask will do just fine.
There are a bunch of different options out there that won’t block healthcare professionals from getting the medical-grade face masks they all need so desperately. We recently told you how to quickly and easily make your own DIY face masks using supplies that you likely already have lying around your home, and they’re far more effective than other cloth DIY face mask instructions you’ll find online. If you want to step things up a bit, someone reverse-engineered an N95 face mask and posted instructions to make your own, complete with a virus neutralizer. If you’re not the DIY type though, don’t worry because we have some excellent news for you.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $38.99 ($0.78 / Mask)
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $39.99 ($0.80 / Mask)
Last week, we told you that Amazon’s best-selling face masks by Jointown and similar face masks from LeadPro were back in stock and available to ship out right away. These are 3-layer masks that do a great job of blocking things from your airways — as long as you take the necessary precautions and practice strict social distancing. These are not N95 masks or medical-grade surgical masks, and that’s important to note. That said, the CDC recommends that we wear cloth face coverings like these masks anytime we leave the house. They’re also much better than most of the cloth DIY face masks that people are sharing plans for online right now.
When we told you about these face masks arriving back in stock on Amazon, tens of thousands of our readers rushed over to the site to buy them. Incredibly, however, these best-selling masks are still in stock and still available to ship right away. There are other face masks available right now on Amazon as well, so if shipping times start to slip back you can always use that page to find comparable masks.
The aforementioned face masks from Amazon and the two DIY masks we linked earlier in this article are all great options, and they’ll definitely do the job if you also remain vigilant. Stay at home unless you absolutely must go out. Practice social distancing and stay as far away from other people when you do have to leave the house. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer as frequently as possible, especially after touching surfaces outside of your home.

WhatsApp video chat supports groups of up to 8 people ahead of Rooms integration
- WhatsApp video chat now supports up to eight people thanks to a new update that’s currently rolling out to users.
- WhatsApp video calls are end-to-end encrypted, unlike the newly released Messenger Rooms video conferencing app.
- WhatsApp will also receive Rooms support soon, a new leak reveals.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
The novel coronavirus pandemic altered the way we live our lives, forcing us to spend more time indoors than we’d have wanted. But as annoying as these social measures might seem, they’re a necessity. Staying away from other people might save your life and theirs, as it’ll help curb the transmission of COVID-19. Thankfully, technology is here to help at every step of the way. Thanks to the internet, any smart device can be turned into an entertainment platform. YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, and any other streaming platform is ready to deliver instant access to movies, TV shows, and music. Games are also one tap away. And for those who have to study or work from home, there’s plenty of software to get the job done.
It’s actually the COVID-19 pandemic that made video chat apps even more popular, with Zoom being the clear winner. Zoom may have been riddled with privacy and security issues, but the video conferencing software is incredibly easy to use, whether it’s for school/work or for talking to your friends and family. Google updated its Meets platform to replicate some of Zoom’s features. Facebook just launched Messenger Rooms, a Zoom-like video chat app that works on any devices, regardless of whether you have a Facebook account. The app will also soon work with Instagram Direct, Portal, and WhatsApp. While you wait, you can at least take advantage of WhatsApp’s newest video calling feature, support for up to eight people.

iPhone SE can’t expand lock screen notifications – and it’s not a bug
- iPhone SE users have noticed that Haptic Touch doesn’t work on lock screen notifications or inside Notification Center.
- It appears that Haptic Touch behaves as it should, so this isn’t an iPhone SE software bug.
- There is a way to bypass the limitation, and that’s to use a different gesture on the incoming notifications that you want to interact with.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
The iPhone SE is a budget phone that has no rival right now. It’s the cheapest “new iPhone” you can buy, featuring the same powerful A13 chip that you get with any of the three iPhone 11 models. The A13 is so powerful that other 2020 flagship handsets will have a tough time keeping up. The $399 will receive new software updates for several years, well beyond what Android phones can’t offer, and that’s why the inclusion of the A13 chip in the package is so important. But no matter how amazing the iPhone SE might sound like it does feature a few compromises and limitations. For $399, you get a 2014 iPhone design, complete with large top and bottom bezels, and the rear camera is still a single-lens shooter — but at least it’s better than the iPhone XR’s camera thanks to the same A13 chip. Also, the phone lacks the 3D Touch screen layer that was a staple of iPhones since the iPhone 6s. Haptic Touch replaced 3D Touch on all phones, even the ones that still have 3D Touch hardware components, and the iPhone SE got it as well. But Haptic Touch does have an issue on iPhone SE: it doesn’t let you expand lock screen notifications. And it’s not a bug.

The Pentagon just released three UFO videos, as if 2020 wasn’t already weird enough
- As if 2020 wasn’t a bizarre enough of a year already, the Pentagon sparked a flurry of news headlines Monday thanks to a turn of events that sounds like the stuff of science fiction movies.
- UFO videos declassified by the Pentagon were released on Monday, following the confirmation of their existence back in the fall by the US Navy — which initially refused to release them on national security grounds.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
At the beginning of this year, we were among a slew of media outlets who reported that the Navy was sitting on a small handful of videos purporting to show UFOs flying rapidly and in a weird fashion over the Pacific Ocean. At the time, the official line from the Office of Naval Intelligence was that, to borrow that famous line from the X-Files, the truth is definitely out there, but releasing the videos that the Navy was sitting on would supposedly cause “exceptionally grave damage” to the country’s national security.
On Monday, the Pentagon went ahead and released the footage. Which makes this something like the millionth piece of evidence so far that proves 2020 will go down as the most bizarre year in generations.

Brain implant breakthrough may reverse paralysis
- Researchers developed a system that uses a brain implant and brain-computer interface to translate signals between the brain and limbs of a paralyzed person.
- Early testing shows that the system can restore the sense of touch and even allow a paralyzed patient to play Guitar Hero.
- Eventually, as the technology is further improved, a wearable version of this system could provide paralyzed patients with far more freedom than they currently have.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
When a person becomes paralyzed, whether by traumatic injury or as the result of a disease, there’s usually precious little hope for reversing it. Ian Burkhart became almost entirely paralyzed after an injury in 2010, and now he’s one of the first patients to show promise using a new system that combines a brain implant with signal-reading software to restore motion and, incredibly, the sense of touch.
As Syfy Wire reports, Burkhart’s progress is the subject of a new paper published in Cell, and it could change how doctors approach the difficult process of treating paralyzed patients.

This credit card from Chase would be perfect to add to your wallet right now
- With most people stuck at home right now, this might be a time when many of you are open to new credit card offers, since living our lives mostly online right now and ordering things for delivery tends to entail the use of cards instead of cash.
- Chase has the perfect credit card to consider adding to your wallet if you don’t already have it, especially if you’re looking for the best credit cards for rewards. This is our look at the Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits, plus all the other reasons this is the perfect card to sign up for at the moment.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
BGR has partnered with The Points Guy for our coverage of credit card products. BGR and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers.
Even before the coronavirus pandemic upended everyone’s daily life and routines — such that we’re now, among other things, relying on credit cards more than ever as we all socially distance at home, which means ordering more things online — the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card was already regarded as one of the best mid-tier credit cards on the market. The best card, period, among some people, even, thanks to the way it’s gotten so many people started in the points-and-miles game and how it’s served as the first rewards credit card for many consumers who want to earn something back from purchases they make with plastic.
With so many great credit cards out there, why is this card still so highly regarded today? In this post, we’ll walk through our reasoning.

It seemed unfathomable a few months ago when the first reports from China detailed pneumonia of unknown origin, but the novel coronavirus turned into a full-blown pandemic that shut down life as we knew it. The entire world went into hiding, trying to stay away from an invisible, highly infectious microorganism. And every activity that involved gatherings of people came to a halt. Schools closed. Sporting events were delayed around the world, and theaters and cinemas shut their doors. Millions of people lost their jobs, while others were instructed to work from home.
Of course, this also affected the entertainment industry, as studios were forced to close up shop on various productions. Studios postponed the releases of their most significant blockbusters of the year, movies that are expected to make hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. Black Widow, which was initially due on May 1st, was delayed by six months, and this forced Disney to push back every other MCU Phase 4 film, except for one: Spider-Man 3.
