Dish Network is one of two leading satellite television providers in the United States, and it’s also an internet service provider ever since it first launched its DishNET offering. Starting today, however, Dish is thrusting itself into an entirely new category: smartphone repair. No, that’s no typo, Dish on Tuesday morning announced the immediate availability of “Smart Phone Repair,” an on-site handset repair service that will send a technician to your home to fix your broken smartphone.
It seems like an odd move at first, but it’s actually quite smart and I’ll explain why.

Even the most hardcore Apple haters out there would have a tough time believing the company would turn away Jesus from one of its stores. And yet, that’s sort of what happened at an Apple Store in Philadelphia when a man known locally as “Philly Jesus” was arrested for refusing to leave after being asked multiple times. WPVI-TV in Philadelphia reports that Philly Jesus, whose real name is Michael Grant, was also arrested back in 2014 for refusing to leave Dilworth Plaza, where he had decided to go ice skating in his full Jesus attire.

One of the phones Android fans are dying to see in stores this year is the OnePlus 3, the next-gen reasonably priced flagship handset. The phone is expected to pack high-end hardware putting it on par with current flagships from the competition. If rumors are correct, then one OnePlus 3 version might be better than this year’s Galaxy S7 and HTC One 10, at least when it comes to specs. But a new report reveals one more interesting detail about the handset, its price. Apparently, this year’s OnePlus flagship might be even cheaper than its predecessor.

Is the Tesla Model X’s “Bioweapon Defense Mode” just a cheesy gimmick feature that the company added to the car to make it sound more futuristic? Tesla swears it isn’t, and it’s got some new data to prove it. In a blog post on Monday, Tesla said that it had recently conducted some tests on the Model X’s air filtration system and said the results show that “you can literally survive a military grade bio attack by sitting in your car.”

Earlier this year, the FBI and Apple found themselves embroiled in a contentious legal dispute regarding the locked iPhone of Syed Farook, one of the San Bernardino terrorists. Unable to access the device, the FBI wanted Apple to create a tailor-made version of iOS that would circumvent built-in iOS security measures. Apple, meanwhile, vehemently refused, with Tim Cook even stating that the FBI wanted Apple to create the “software equivalent of cancer.”
Eventually, the FBI managed to access Farook’s locked iPhone after purchasing a hack from an anonymous third-party. And so while Apple’s specific dispute with the FBI seemingly resolved itself, the broader issues the case raised still persist and will undoubtedly assume the public spotlight again.

Apple’s earnings report last week saw the company report a year over year decline in profits for the first time since 2003. The biggest contributing factor to the decline, not surprisingly, is that year over year iPhone sales dropped by 16%. Notably, Apple’s most recent quarter marks the first time iPhone sales declined in company history.
Consequently, the usual contingent of pundits and analysts have come out of the woodwork, all exclaiming that we’ve reached ‘peak iPhone’ and that Apple at this point has nowhere to go but down. In an effort to inject a bit of good news and all-around optimism to a particularly negative Apple news cycle, Tim Cook earlier today appeared on CNBC with Jim Cramer where the Apple CEO teased that the company has some interesting and innovative items in the product pipeline.
“We’ve got great innovation in the pipeline,” Cook said to Cramer. “New iPhones that will incentivize you and other people that have iPhones today to upgrade to new iPhones. We are going to give you things you can’t live without that you just don’t know you need today. That has always been the objective at Apple, to do things that really enrich people’s lives. That you look back on and you wonder, how did I live without this.”

If there’s one thing to look forward to every year, regardless of whether you follow politics or favor the sitting president, that’s the Correspondents’ Dinner. That goes double for a president’s final event – and probably triple when Donald Trump as one of the main contenders to take over the oval office.
That said, President Barack Obama’s last Correspondents’ Dinner was a show to watch: We’ve got plenty of hilarious jokes and segments, we’ve got a good Trump roast, and there’s even a mic drop at the end.
