Conspiracy theorists keep finding proof of alien life on Earth, but if you’re going to be worried about deadly aliens causing a commotion on our planet then you’d have to look elsewhere – if only you could see that far. A huge alien force is believed to be so far out in our solar system that its presence can’t be confirmed yet. But a new theory suggests it regularly kills life on our beloved planet and the dinosaur extinction may have been its best work yet.

Every time you browse the web on a public Wi-Fi hotspot, you’re taking a risk that someone may be able to intercept your traffic and steal sensitive information such as passwords. There’s a pretty simple way to keep your devices secure and make sure your traffic is encrypted even when you’re using a public Wi-Fi hotspot, however: Use a VPN that’s hosted by your home router.

We haven’t heard a lot from the entity formerly known as Motorola ever since it got completely swallowed up by Lenovo. However, it looks like Lenovo still has the old Motorola team working on a new flagship device and a newly leaked picture might give us our first look at it. Droid Life points us to a new pic posted by HelloMotoHK that shows what appears to be a new Motorola device with a fingerprint scanner placed prominently at the bottom.

We can’t purchase our very own self-driving cars just yet. Regulatory hurdles are still in the way and car makers aren’t done testing autonomous vehicles to ensure that they’re safe enough to mingle with regular traffic. However, truck manufacturers seem to be farther along, at least in Europe, where fleets of trucks drove themselves across the continent.

Are things actually looking up for a major Android vendor? Samsung has seen its earnings deteriorate over the past couple of years but the company is expecting a significant boost in its Q1 2016 earnings thanks in part to sales of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Via Android Central, Samsung is projecting an operating profit of $5.7 billion for Q1 2016, which represents a 10% increase over its operating profit in Q1 2015. The company is also projecting solid revenues of $42.3 billion, an increase over the $40.7 billion in revenues it posted in the same quarter last year.

One of Samsung’s best 4K upscaling Blu-ray players is on sale on Amazon

When it comes to DVD players, it’s a pretty safe bet to presume that pretty much every model out there is comparable. Blu-ray players, however, are an entirely different beast. You have a shiny new 4K Ultra HD TV and you have a Blu-ray player with 4K resolution, but not all of the discs you own are 4K. That’s where upscaling comes in — it’s obviously not the same as native 4K, but anyone who’s seen the difference between 1080p and upscaled content knows that it’s a much better viewing experience. The problem, of course, is that it’s much pricier… unless you catch a sale.

From now until the end of the day on April 16, the Samsung BD-J7500 3D 4K Upscaling Blu-ray Player with Wi-Fi (2015 Model) is on sale for $197.99 with free shipping.

I try not to form stereotypes about other cultures but… well, there’s not denying Japan produces some really, really weird popular culture. Japan’s penchant for weirdness was out in full force this week when Japanese heavy metal girl group Babymetal went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week and ripped into their new single “Gimme Chocolate.” The result was as bizarre as you’d expect.
