I can’t remember the last time a major studio released a summer blockbuster that wasn’t a sequel, prequel, reboot or adaptation of a comic book. This is particularly true of Sony Pictures, which in recent years has signed off on a string of horrendous duds, highlighted in 2015 by Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Pixels. Over the weekend, Eddie Murphy was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. After accepting the award on stage, Murphy, seemingly out of nowhere, busted out his Bill Cosby impression. It was an interesting turn of events given that Murphy, just a few months back, flat-out refused to perform his Cosby impression during Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special.

Though the device represents the first laptop ever developed by Microsoft, the company left nothing to chance and came out of the gate firing.
