SpaceX attempted to test its Crew Dragon parachute system but the test was cut short after the dummy object with the parachutes installed on it became unstable during ascent.
The helicopter crew hauling the object had to release it, destroying it in the process. The test was obviously not completed as intended.
NASA and SpaceX will now have to decide how to proceed and possibly reschedule the test for a later date.

An issue with a parachute during a test by SpaceX has thrown the timeline of the company’s first crewed mission into jeopardy. The test, which was designed to ensure the parachute system of the Crew Dragon spacecraft can bring the spacecraft to a safe, soft landing, ended earlier than expected when the helicopter crew conducting the test had to abort early.

The long race between SpaceX and Boeing to be the first company to deliver a crew-capable spacecraft to NASA appeared to be all but over after NASA announced a date for the first crewed mission for its Crew Dragon spacecraft. The mission, which will see a pair of NASA astronauts sent to the International Space Station, was originally slated for a launch as early as May.

The coronavirus may present flu-like symptoms, but it’s nothing like the flu when it comes to contagiousness and evolution.
Comparing the COVID-19 death toll with the flu’s fatality rate or the number of car accident victims, as President Trump did as he argued that the economy should restart as soon as possible, is misleading.
A continued exponential increase of COVID-19 cases could cripple any health care system and significantly raise the overall COVID-19 death toll.

Governments that have made the difficult decision to shut down their countries or parts of them also have to worry about the massive impact on the economy. The longer the health crisis lasts, the more dire the effects on the economy will be. Therefore, it’s no wonder that President Trump looking to open the economy as soon as possible, maybe by Easter, in defiance of warnings from public health officials.

In his remarks on Tuesday, he likened the novel coronavirus to the flu and car accidents as he argued the cure shouldn’t be worse than the disease. It’s important to note, however, that one is not like the others in terms of immediate danger. COVID-19 might mimic flu symptoms, but that’s where comparisons should end.

Android malware is arguably less prevalent than it was a few years ago, but it still remains a serious and all too common issue.
Recently, 56 Android apps with malware were discovered on Google Play. Together, these apps were downloaded more than one million times.
As Google slowly but surely looks to keep a closer eye on malicious apps, malware creators are becoming increasingly more sophisticated and creative when it comes to sneaking their apps onto the Play Store.

Google’s Play Store may not be the Wild West of malware it once was, but it sure does seem like we can’t go even a week or two without hearing about some dangerous piece of malware that managed to sneak in underneath Google’s radar. While Google has taken steps to make its Play Store a little bit more secure and reliable, many malicious apps, as a result, are becoming a lot more creative when it comes to avoiding detection.

Most recently, security researchers from Check Point Research discovered a new type of malware that was found to be lurking in 24 children’s games and 32 utility apps. Dubbed Tekya, the malware is essentially focused on committing mobile ad fraud and will generate fake clicks on a variety of seemingly genuine ads. And while malware infecting 56 apps may not seem like a lot at first glance, keep in mind that the 56 apps involved have already been downloaded more than one million times to date. Notably, some of the malicious apps managed to gain traction by simply copying the artwork from existing and already popular mobile apps.

An individual that attended a “coronavirus party” in Kentucky has now tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The party was held as a way to push back against directives from health officials to engage in social distancing and remain home.
It’s unclear how many people from the party may be infected.

At a time when millions of people across the United States are taking drastic measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, holding a large gathering specifically because health officials advised against it is, well, idiotic. That didn’t stop a group of revelers in Kentucky from doing just that, and their so-called “coronavirus party” might further the national health crisis now that one of the attendees has tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual, who is reportedly in their 20s, was one of many who attended the themed party. The purpose of the party was to give a big middle finger to health experts and government officials who are urging everyone to avoid gatherings and group events. Well, it looks like that backfired.

A new video shows how much damage the virus can cause to an infected person’s lungs.
According to Johns Hopkins University, there have been more than 62,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the US to-date. And almost 900 people have died.

New Dell laptops can mirror the iPhone’s screen with the help of the new Dell Mobile Connect app.
Announced at CES 2020, the app also lets you take calls and send texts from your laptop, as well as check notifications and transfer certain types of files.
Dell Mobile Connect also works with Android and requires a relatively new laptop to get started.

If you own both an iPhone and a Mac, then you’re probably taking advantage of a handy feature Apple launched a few years ago to make it easier to switch back and forth between the two devices. Called Continuity, the feature lets you resume the work you started in certain apps, including the browser and Mail, on the other device. The feature also lets you take calls and send texts directly on the Mac. Add to that quick wireless transfers, and you end up with the kind of cross-device interaction that’s not really available on Android.

Windows 10 does support Android mirroring, and Huawei implemented a similar feature on its devices last year. But Windows and Android come from two different companies and aren’t a natural pair. With that in mind, mirroring iPhone on a Dell laptop running Windows 10 might seem just as unnatural. But now it’s possible.

The coronavirus has much of the world on lockdown, and some celebrities simply have no idea what to do with themselves. Case in point: Madonna has been going wild on Twitter and has been posting videos that, at times, are downright nonsensical. Countless people have had to cancel their travel plans due to the novel coronavirus, but with Google’s latest changes, it should be easier to make the necessary changes.
Many airlines have made significant adjustments to their cancellation policies and change fees due to the coronavirus, and Google has put up a new Help Center page that will link you directly to the policy pages of dozens of airlines.

On Tuesday, Google announced a series of changes to help alleviate some of the stress that will inevitably come with attempting to make or change travel plans through its site. Going forward, if you search for information about a flight, a hotel, or things to do at various destinations on Google, you will see COVID-19 travel advisories or restrictions for those locations, along with links to relevant details from your country’s travel authority.
