The iPhone 6s is Apple’s best “S” update in iPhone history, featuring both significantly hardware upgrades and new software improvements. But Apple hasn’t shared all the details about the iPhone 6s’ internal components. As was the case with previous releases, the company doesn’t talk about processor speed – other than to say it’s 70% faster than the A8 – RAM, or battery size. The RAM and battery capacity mysteries have been solved already, and thanks to official documentation seen on a website belonging to China’s TENAA regulatory agency, pressing A9-related questions can also now be answered.

These interesting tidbits come courtesy of Google engineering manager Rachel Potvin who disclosed it at the @Scale engineering conference earlier this week. Not surprisingly, the topic of Potvin’s talk centered on the benefits and challenges associated with storing and managing a gargantuan codebase. And ensuring that everything remains safe, Google’s mammoth code repository is stored and updated at 10 Google data centers located across the globe.

Apple just released iOS 9, an operating system that’s supposed to introduce many performance improvements over last year’s iOS 8, including better storage management and battery life, and improved security. On top of that, there are many interesting new features, including plenty of new tricks that are hidden in iOS 9. While these are all reasons to be excited about upgrading to iOS 9 – and staying there – some people will find at least two reasons to roll back to the latest stable version of “old” iOS (that’s iOS 8.4.1 right now). The good news is that you can do it fairly easily, as Apple is going to support iOS 8 and iOS 9 for the time being.
