For my money, the best thing that came out of Marvel this year (with the exception of the stellar Secret Wars comics) was the first season of Daredevil on Netflix. It brought us down to the street level of the Marvel Cinematic Universe without losing sight of what made the movies so appealing in the first place.

Google yesterday unveiled a new Wi-Fi router dubbed OnHub that promises to solve all of your Wi-Fi related woes. While mobile technology has advanced by leaps and bounds in recent years, the routers we use today — and their associated problems — haven’t really made similar advancements.

Apple is expected to launch at least two iPhones this year though some reports keep saying the company will have three new additions to its iPhone lineup this fall. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus are expected to drop in mid-September, and a fresh report from China suggesting a third model is going to be launched only in November.

Did you ever read The Hobbit growing up? Of course you did! It was a charming little book that served as a nice, short introduction to the world of Middle Earth and as a thrilling prelude to the longer, more epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. Ideally the film version of the book should have been an action-packed three hour movie… but Hollywood being Hollywood, it got absurdly stretched out to three full feature-length films for no reason other than being a shameless cash grab.

A team of treasure hunters scouring the waters off Florida last month recovered a $4.5 million bounty of gold coins – including several made for the king of Spain, Philip V, in the early 1700s, Florida Today reported.
The find – made July 30 and 31 off the coast of Vero Beach — was announced Wednesday by Bret Brisben, captain of the S/V Capitana. Brisben and his crew reportedly found 350 gold coins, nine of which are known as Royals and valued at $300,000 apiece.

BlackBerry’s first-ever Android phone is reportedly coming out in November but just about every mystery about the device has already been revealed months before its launch. @evleaks posted another leak of BlackBerry’s Android phone on Thursday and this time it’s a GIF of a promotional video intended to show off the device’s newest features, including an 18-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard reminiscent of the BlackBerry Torch models it released earlier this decade.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 is already installed on tens of millions of computers, but the free upgrade isn’t hassle-free. There are various issues and bugs that Microsoft has either fixed or needs to address in following updates, and then there are privacy worries that come with the free operating system upgrade. One particular problem for existing Windows 10 users appears to be the System process that can eat a lot of RAM. A few days ago, Jorg Sprave — who runs a popular YouTube channel you may have heard of — showed off a contraption that you might want to do your best to steer clear of. Sprave, who lives in Germany, somehow decided that it’d be a grand idea to to attach four scalpels to a Frisbee, effectively creating a terrifying flying device in the process. Fittingly, he calls it the Scalpel Blade Frisbee.
Though it should go without saying, do not try this at home! Actually, now that I think about it, you probably don’t want to try this anywhere. But Sprave is a unique fellow — as you’ll see in the video below — and, well, he decided to proceed full steam ahead.
