Marvel’s Black Widow will launch on May 1st in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, mainly because Disney can’t really afford to delay any of its movies and TV series. Postponing Black Widow might delay other shows since all the stories are connected.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, a limited TV series for Disney+, should follow in August, but the coronavirus outbreak already has had an impact on the show’s production.
Similarly, other MCU Phase 4 TV series that are in production might be affected by delays caused by the new disease.

Watching a brand new movie in cinemas might be a thing of the past until the coronavirus pandemic is under control, at least in those regions seeing a surge in daily infections. Sony is one of the tech giants that’s been among the first to withdraw from events that draw plenty of crowds, including MWC, PAX East, and GDC, to minimize COVID-19 transmission risks. Avoiding large gatherings of people is one of the things you can do to protect yourself against infection, and Sony is acutely aware of that. It’s also very aware that the coronavirus will have a significant impact on certain sectors of the economy and its bottom line, and the company is already taking measures to protect its business. The company delayed two movie releases, including the brand new James Bond as well as Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway. The delay of No Time to Die was particularly surprising, given that it’s one of the most highly anticipated films of the year.

Not all studios can afford to do the same thing with their upcoming 2020 creations, and that includes Disney’s Marvel. Earlier this week, Marvel released the final trailer for Black Widow, reiterating plans to release the first MCU Phase 4 flick on May 1st, as previously announced. Unlike Sony, which might have plenty of wiggle room with its movie releases, Disney might be forced to go forward with Marvel movies regardless of any potential financial hit.

The worst of the coronavirus outbreak is seemingly behind China as a whole as life begins to get back to normal.
Although production in China is getting back on track, iPhone sales are still expected to be lower than usual as the rest of the world deals with the outbreak.

When the coronavirus outbreak struck China in late 2019, one of the first steps that the country took was to keep its citizens out of places where they might be more likely to catch or spread the virus. Stop and think for even an instant about just how much of what you own was either manufactured in China or contains parts that were manufactured in China and you can begin to understand the impact of countless factories shutting down for days or weeks at a time. Unsurprisingly, Apple’s iPhone was one of many products affected by the shutdown.

As we’ve reported on multiple occasions over the past few weeks, iPhone production slowed significantly, leading to constrained supplies and lower sales around the world, but now that the situation appears to be stabilizing in China, Hon Hai Precision Industry (aka Foxconn) is reporting that not only has production finally resumed at its factories in mainland China, but that the factories have “exceeded expectations” (via South China Morning Post).

Wednesday was a day filled with a dizzying array of news related to the continued spread of coronavirus in the US, ending with a speech from President Trump televised live from the Oval Office.
It capped a whirlwind of news from that same day which included everything from the World Health Organization declaring coronavirus a global pandemic, the NBA canceling its season, and Tom Hanks confirming he’s tested positive for coronavirus.
Trump’s speech was one more addition to public worry about all this since it added a ban on travel from Europe to the mix. However, there are two huge corrections to note about the speech.

In an effort to show that the US is taking the coronavirus spread seriously, President Trump delivered a televised address from the Oval Office on Wednesday night that included announcing such dramatic steps as a ban on travel from Europe which also seemed to include a temporary halt on cargo shipped from Europe.

If it was meant to calm the panic that’s starting to spread around the country in the US, though, it backfired in a major way. Sony hasn’t scheduled any PlayStation 5 announcement event, nor has it released any new PS5 details this year — comparatively, Microsoft a few days ago unveiled the Xbox Series X’s main specs and features.
The PS5 design and full specs sheet aren’t the only things gamers might be waiting for anxiously. The console’s new user interface should also be an exciting PS5 feature.
A few gamers have created PS5 UI concepts based on some of Sony’s existing PS5 announcements, as well as other apps that offer user quick access to content.

You might be wondering whether Sony has announced anything about any plans to unveil the PlayStation 5, but the answer is the same. Sony isn’t ready to tell us anything new about the console, and Microsoft is the huge winner of this set. Sony may have been the first to unveil its next-gen console’s name — it wasn’t going to be anything but PS5 — and some of its specs. But Microsoft came out on top when it comes to showing the actual design of the new Xbox Series X and revealing most of its specs. Microsoft hasn’t told us everything about the Xbox Series X though, and it hasn’t shown us everything either. We still need to know how much storage is on board on the new Xbox and what the rear ports can do. Not to mention that the new Xbox user interface is missing in action as well.

While Sony might be taking its time with the PS5 reveal, we’ve seen plenty of specs leaks so far, as well as a slew of Sony gaming patents that tell us Sony has great plans in mind for the future of gaming. We’ve also seen plenty of exciting PS5 design renders from PlayStation fans who have tried to imagine what the next-gen console might look like. With that in mind, it only makes sense to see PS5 UI concepts pop up. After all, the user interface of the PlayStation 5 is obviously more important and exciting than the console’s physical design.

Netflix’s $3 mobile streaming plan just launched in two new countries

Netflix’s three streaming plans in the United States have received multiple price increases in recent years, but Netflix is headed in a different direction in other markets.
The company first began testing a special mobile-only streaming plan in India back in December 2018 before launching it last year for about $3 per month.
Now, this low-cost streaming plan is being made available in two additional markets, though it will likely never launch in the US.

Over the past few years, Netflix’s monthly plan prices have gotten more and more expensive. As of March 2020, Netflix’s Basic plan that includes lower-resolution streaming on one screen at a time costs $8.99 per month. The Netflix Standard plan that includes 1080p streaming on up to two simultaneous screens is $12.99 a month. Finally, Netflix’s Premium plan with 4K streaming, 1080p streaming, and support for up to four simultaneous streams climbed recently to $15.99 each month.

Ask anyone in the US who subscribes to Netflix and he or she will likely tell you that it’s worth every penny. Of that, there is precious little question. No other streaming media service offers as much content or as much high-quality original content as Netflix. In fact, Netflix is releasing a whopping 55 new original series, movies, and specials over the course of the month in March 2020 alone. As great as the service is, however, there are plenty of people who would love the opportunity to get a more limited streaming plan and pay less money each month. That option might never be made available in the US, but it does exist elsewhere.
