The single most annoying criticism that people have about Apple CEO Tim Cook is that he isn’t running the company like Steve Jobs would have run it. While it’s undoubtably true that Cook is running Apple much differently than the way Jobs ran it, Cook doesn’t have much of an option — he’s just not a charismatic visionary like Jobs and there’s nothing he can do to change that.

In what could have been one of the most terrifying disasters of the decade, a UTair Boeing 767 had to abort its landing when an errant Aerolíneas Argentinas Airbus suddenly taxied onto the runway during the plane’s descent. With seconds to spare, the pilot of the 767 pulled back up, narrowly avoiding the other plane and potentially saving hundreds of lives.

For the fourth consecutive year, the city of Hudson, Quebec (a small English-speaking community west of Montreal, QC), invited classic car owners to takeover their streets and show off their vintage vehicles for a day. The rare line-up of vehicles at the 2014 Hudson classic car show was a dream come true for many car connoisseurs and gearheads of all ages.
With over 100 cars on display, the main street and some arteries were lined with classic cars, hot rods and vintage vehicles of different eras. This exhibition is a rare opportunity to discover the wonders and charm of this small town itself, while traveling through time thanks to the many cars parked along its streets. Although there were many modern cars too, the classic treasures that appeared stole the show.

One lucky job seeker from Europe is about to find out as Netflix has announced it is looking for a new “tagger” in the UK and Ireland, another facet of the company’s continued expansion throughout Europe. This is the first stage of the Netflix recommendation system, combining with a complex algorithm to ensure your profile is unique and aligns with your viewing habits.

After raising over $300,000 during a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo earlier this year, the team behind the Tango PC has taken to Kickstarter to raise the remaining funds to finish building the PC you can fit in your pocket. We’ve heard a lot of good reasons to oppose the Federal Communications Commission’s plan to allow for the creation of Internet “fast lanes.” However, the best one we’ve seen so far might be from Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler, who has written an op-ed for The Washington Post in which he explains why any plan that lets ISPs charge more in exchange for traffic prioritization should be a nonstarter.

We have good news and bad news, Samsung fans. The good news is that according to a new leaked photo from a reliable source, Samsung’s upcoming premium Galaxy F smartphone won’t be the shameless iPhone ripoff that a previous leak suggested it would be. Apple’s first iOS 8 beta was released on June 2nd and the second one came just as expected two weeks later. Now, Apple has released a much-needed third beta of its next-generation mobile platform. iOS 8 beta 3 brings with it a number of bug fixes and various new items as well. While Apple’s iOS 8 betas are intended for use by developers only on test devices, many people use the software on their personal phones, so the fixes brought about by iOS 8 beta 3 will certainly be greatly appreciated.
