SoftBank CEO and Sprint chairman Masayoshi Son has become something of a maverick. He said he bought Sprint because “I am a man, and every man wants to be number one, not number two or number three.” He also convinced Steve Jobs to give him exclusivity for the iPhone in Japan before Apple had even announced the device, and before Son had bought the mobile carrier SoftBank.
Now, he wants to sell you a $2,000 robot.

We know Apple is planning to release a huge number of products this fall but the timetable for exactly when each one will launch is still unclear. Barron’s flags a new research note from Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White, who has been meeting with supply chain vendors and who believes that Apple is planning to launch its iWatch alongside its 4.7-inch iPhone 6 this September.

Just five days after the G3’s May 28th release in South Korea, LG had already sold 100,000 units, the fastest opening week sales of any smartphone is LG’s history. Korea IT Times reports that the daily sales volume has been estimated at 20,000 to 30,000 units. As a point of reference, the G2 was estimated to have sold less than 10,000 units per day when it launched last year.

When Microsoft finally unbundles the Kinect from the Xbox One later this month, it will be more than just good news for consumers; Microsoft confirmed to Eurogamer on Thursday that without Kinect, the additional resources on the new Xbox One units will “allow access to up to 10 per cent additional GPU performance,” giving developers the opportunity to make their games look even better on the new generation console.

If a dozen independent reports from insiders, analysts and some of the most respected newspapers in the world are to be believed, Apple will launch two completely redesigned iPhones in 2014. The first will be an iPhone 6 that debuts in September with a thinner housing, a 4.7-inch display and a sleek new design. Then, sometime ahead of the holidays, Apple is expected to release a second new iPhone model with a similar look and an even bigger 5.5-inch screen.
