Business Insider flags a new research note from Rosenblatt Securities analyst Brian Blair, who just got back from Taiwan and who has learned some crucial design details of Apple’s fabled iWatch.

Apple still hasn’t responded publicly to reports that hackers have breached Apple’s iCloud system and hacked it in order to unlock stolen iPhones. While that doesn’t bode well, the company did at least respond to a more recent series of reports of another iCloud breach that allowed hackers to digitally hijack iPhones and hold them hostage for a ransom.

Apple is expected to announce its Beats acquisition this week, the New York Post has learned, and the iPhone maker will apparently acquire Dr. Dre’s company for less than initially expected. Apparently leaks in the press – not related to Dre’s acknowledgement of the deal recorded on video – convinced Apple lawyers to re-evaluate the purchase, and offer Beats “just” $3 billion, down $200 million from the previous offer.

Speaking at Re/code‘s conference in California, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella assured gamers that the company doesn’t plan to sell its Xbox division, despite what many people advise Microsoft to do. Furthermore, he said that the company doesn’t plan to sell its Bing search business either.

The past year has not been a great one for computer security. Last summer, Edward Snowden revealed how the NSA has been exploiting vulnerabilities to spy on people, Target suffered a massive security breach that exposed the credit card information for as much as a third of the American population, the Heartbleed bug was a major vulnerability found in the Internet’s most common encryption standard, and eBay just asked all 145 million of its customers to change their passwords after a security breach. As smartwatches struggle to find their place in a saturated device market, vendors are looking for new ways to attract potential customers. Even executives are willing to admit that the current lineup hasn’t done much to impress consumers. The latest patent from Samsung imagines a new method of gesture controls for future smartwatches, using a built-in camera to track a user’s hand motions. These touchless gesture controls would allow users to point at and capture an image of an object, unlock the device or even to power it down.

The G Watch, LG’s first Android Wear smartwatch that will soon hit stores, may ship with an unexpected hidden feature, Korean publication iNews24.com revealed – a built-in, non-removable SIM card. The device is apparently going to be further detailed during Google’s late June I/O 2014 developers event alongside Motorola’s Moto 360, and it could start selling from Google’s Play Store as well.

Although LG kept preaching “simplicity” at its big G3 launch event on Tuesday, the company did highlight some added features for its new flagship device that it believes will set it apart from rival Android devices. To give us a quick look at all these new features, LG has put together a slick new video that succinctly shows them off in a little over two minutes. Among other things, the G3 video shows you all of the key technology used in its new 13-megapixel camera, including optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and dual flash; its new KnockON security system; its new Smart Keyboard that lets you adjust your keyboard’s height to match your preferences and to simply swipe up to choose an autocomplete word; and a while lot more. An Audi driver in Calgary, AB had their car badly crushed by falling bricks from a crumbling office building downtown. According to The Huffington Post, the large hole measuring about six metres by four metres has appeared on the side of a Calgary office building that’s been shedding bricks from its facade since last week.
There have been no reports of injuries, but the debris heavily damaged an Audi A5 that had to be left in a parking lot when the problem all began.
