Matt and Ross Duffer, the brothers who serve as creators and showrunners for one of the most successful original series to emerge from Netflix, appear set to once again give us eight episodes to enjoy when Stranger Things season four finally arrives.

We don’t have an official release date yet, but Netflix has at least shared a teaser for the new season so we definitely know it’s coming. Meanwhile, though, a new report from TVLine has teased out what it says are new, exclusive details that have been confirmed — including the fact that we’re in store for eight episodes again, the same number we got in seasons one and three of Stranger Things.

In what can easily be described as a monster earnings surprise, Tesla yesterday posted a quarterly profit to the tune of $1.91 per share. In the build-up to Tesla’s earnings report, analysts were anticipating the EV company to post a loss in the range of $0.24 per share. Naturally, shares of Tesla quickly skyrocketed and are currently up by nearly 44 points in trading today.

During Tesla’s accompanying earnings conference call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk touched on a number of topics, including some interesting details regarding the company’s plan to roll out the Tesla Semi and a brand new pickup truck. Of particular interest, though, were Musk’s remarks regarding an impending over-the-air software update that will improve performance across all Tesla models.

Landslides on Mars might not be evidence of ice after all

%name Landslides on Mars might not be evidence of ice after all by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When scientists studying Mars discovered a massive landslide on the Red Planet they thought it looked familiar. The cascading material had carved long, curved ridges, and the area was eerily similar to some landslides that have been observed here on Earth. What made that comparison particularly exciting was the fact that on Earth, landslides like this are often associated with the presence of ice beneath the ground.

This, researchers believed, was a clue that something similar may have happened on Mars some 400 million years ago when the landslide is thought to have occurred. Since ice means water, and water means the potential for life, it was a tantalizing idea. Unfortunately, a new investigation suggests that ice and water may not have played a role after all.

New Apple patent sheds light on a potential feature of Apple’s AR glasses

%name New Apple patent sheds light on a potential feature of Apple’s AR glasses by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As a matter of practice, and to prevent an onslaught of frivolous lawsuits, Apple routinely patents every single new product and technology its engineers come up with. And though most Apple patents do not result in a shipping product, that’s not always the case. Indeed, there have been a few instances in the past where an Apple patent has provided us with concrete information regarding an unreleased product or upcoming feature on an existing product.

Having said that, the most intriguing Apple rumor of late centers on the Cupertino-based company rolling out a pair of AR glasses. To this end, Apple recently filed a patent application which covers a head-mounted device with a transparent display. And while a head-mounted device could quite literally be any number of things, the entirety of the patent tends to point to something similar in design to a pair of glasses with transition lenses.

Did this leaked accessory just reveal the next AirPods?

%name Did this leaked accessory just reveal the next AirPods? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A series of recent leaks claim that Apple is readying the launch of a third-gen AirPods model that will deliver a brand new design, as well as a few new features. We’ve been referring to them as AirPods 3, even though Apple never actually used AirPods 2 to designate the product refresh earlier this year. But the new wireless earphones might be sold under the AirPods Pro moniker, according to a recent report. A brand new leak, meanwhile, seems to confirm previous rumors that said the new AirPods will indeed feature a brand new design.

Disney+ vs Apple TV+: ‘We’re not really worried,’ Disney CEO claims

%name Disney+ vs Apple TV+: ‘We’re not really worried,’ Disney CEO claims by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

At $6.99/month, the new Disney+ streaming service costs almost half the price of the Netflix plan I’m currently subscribed to. Even so, Disney’s streamer is still undercut by at least one other new addition to the Streaming Wars — the Apple TV+ service that Apple will launch on November 1 for only $4.99/month.

Disney CEO Bob Iger addressed that very issue during an interview with CNBC on Tuesday. His response: Disney’s not bothered by all the competition, including Apple’s undercutting of Disney’s already low price.

Samsung has never seemed to care about getting Android updates to its customers quickly, but things might change this year, as Google already included the Korean vendor in a list of companies that will roll out Android 10 to several devices by the end of the year. The news comes just a few days after Samsung opened the Android 10 beta for the Galaxy S10, which is going to be the first Samsung phone to receive Google’s latest update.

The iPhone 11 is shaping up to be Apple’s most popular upgrade option in years

%name The iPhone 11 is shaping up to be Apple’s most popular upgrade option in years by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After about two years of relatively stagnant iPhone sales, there’s reason to believe that Apple might see some sales growth thanks to the popularity of the company’s new iPhone 11 lineup. And though we won’t know for sure — thanks to Apple’s recent decision to no longer disclose quarterly iPhone sales — there’s mounting evidence that consumers are really flocking to the iPhone 11.

According to a new research report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple’s iPhone 11 models — a lineup which includes the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max — accounted for 20% of all new iPhone sales during the September quarter. That may not seem impressive at first glance, but bear in mind that the iPhone 11 was only available for two weeks during the quarter.
