How to get Disney+ for $4.72 a month

%name How to get Disney+ for $4.72 a month by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Once it launches next month, the upcoming Disney+ streaming service will instantly become the best deal in streaming entertainment. For just $6.99 per month, you gain unlimited streaming access to hundreds upon hundreds of hours of content that will be exclusive to Disney’s new service, including all the blockbuster Marvel Studios movies that have been released so far, the entire series of The Simpsons, Disney movies and shows, National Geographic content, Pixar movies, and more. But that’s not even the best part, because you also get access to tons of new original content created specifically for Disney+, such as The Mandalorian from the Star Wars cinematic universe, a live-action Lady and the Tramp movie, a bunch of new Disney series, and tons of exclusive new series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…?, and even a show about Loki. All that for only $6.99 per month! Apple is planning to charge $9.99 per month for its upcoming TV+ streaming service, and it’s expected to launch with barely any content — and almost none of the content we’ve seen so far looks even remotely appealing. Dickinson? Seriously, Apple? Who is that even for!?

Of all the new streaming services that have sprouted up since Netflix created this awesome new market, there’s really no question that Disney+ offers the best value at $6.99. But even if it’s more than worth it at that price, why pay $7 each month when you can get it for even less? Hurry up and you can take advantage of a special deal that will slash the price to just $4.72 per month and save you a whopping $82 over the course of the next 3 years compared to paying the standard monthly rate.

Sony earlier this week confirmed the official name of the PlayStation 5 console that will launch by Christmas 2020 — it’s PlayStation 5, no huge surprise there. The company also revealed some details about the new console’s user interface and announced a brand new controller that will deliver a bunch of exciting features, including improved haptic feedback and USB-C connectivity. But Sony also showed a PS5 dev kit while demoing the new DualShock 5 controller — that’s probably what they’re calling it — and that’s actually an interesting detail in all this influx of PS5 updates. That’s because Sony’s demo events may have confirmed the one awesome PS5 feature that no one saw coming.

If prolonging your time on Earth is a big priority for you, adopting a four-legged friend could help in a big way. A new study that takes into account many decades of research on overall health and pet ownership reveals that people who own dogs enjoy a 24% reduction in overall mortality.

The study is a meta-analysis of research reaching as far back as the 1950s. Ten individual studies were included in this new round of research, with data from nearly four million participants. By lumping all of the data into a larger pile, the researchers can paint an even more accurate picture of how certain factors affect an outcome. In this case, the impact of dog ownership on lifespan was the focus.

Samsung warns of 56% profit slide, but two of its biggest rivals will help it recover

%name Samsung warns of 56% profit slide, but two of its biggest rivals will help it recover by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung on Tuesday released its earnings guidance for the third quarter, ahead of unveiling its actual results for the quarter later this month, and quickly made headlines for saying the company is expecting to reveal a 56% slide in its profit. The decline, according to the company, is attributable to falling demand for Samsung’s memory chips — one of the electronics giant’s myriad product lines in addition to big-ticket items like TVs and its smartphone brands.

Saturn has 20 new moons, and they all need names

%name Saturn has 20 new moons, and they all need names by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Earth’s singular moon has offered astronomers the opportunity to study the relationship between planets and the natural satellites that orbit them. In many ways, Earth’s moon is the perfect introduction to teach humanity some very basic things about how the universe works.

There’s no civilization living on the ringed gas giant Saturn, of course, but if there were, they’d have a whole lot more to see when gazing skyward thanks to the planet’s huge collection of moons. Recently believed to be just over 60 in number, a new research effort reveals that there are actually 20 additional moons we had never noticed before, bringing the total to 82.

This week’s 15 most-watched shows from Netflix, Amazon and other major streamers

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator, writer, and star of the critically acclaimed Amazon series Fleabag, is continuing to enjoy something of a moment having just come off a stellar showing at the Emmys and hosting Saturday Night Live this past weekend.

At the 2019 Emmys a few weeks ago, Phoebe won for best writing in a comedy series, best actress (for Fleabag) as well as the show picking up an Emmy for outstanding comedy series. And so having said all that, it should probably come as no surprise that some four months after Amazon debuted the second and final season of the show, there’s still enough talk and fandom around Fleabag that the series ended up as one of the most-watched shows across the major streamers over this past week.

Google is forcing Android phone makers to add even more apps no one wants

%name Google is forcing Android phone makers to add even more apps no one wants by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Storage is no longer a significant issue on smartphones, with most devices featuring at least 64GB of flash memory, if not double or even quadruple that amount. In other words, nobody really cares about bloatware — those preinstalled apps that ship with new phones, which used to be a major problem on Android flagships.

With that in mind, a new discovery reveals that Google will force manufacturers to preinstall new Google apps (or similar alternatives) on brand new devices or phones that are set to be updated to Android 9 or 10. And despite the abundance of storage, not everybody wants to have all these extra apps on their phones.
