Apple’s next-generation iPhone 11 lineup might end up looking a whole like like last year’s iPhone XS and 2017’s iPhone X, but it’s still shaping up to be a pretty huge upgrade. The new Apple A13 processor is expected to offer massive performance gains and important improvements in efficiency, resulting in much faster phones with at least the same battery life as last year’s models. The design of the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max will get a big overhaul, with frosted glass backs and other big changes. There will also be plenty of new features to enjoy, such as reverse wireless charging and a new photography mode that captures content outside the frame, allowing you to re-crop your shots after you take them. And speaking of photography, that’s where the most significant improvements are likely to be found.

Once upon a time not so long ago, Apple was the undisputed champion of smartphone cameras and the gap between iPhones and Android phones was massive. Then, a few years ago, Huawei devoted a ton of resources to improving its smartphone cameras, and it overtook Apple by a wide margin. Since then, other Android phone makers have also surpassed Apple, including Google and Samsung. In 2019, however, Apple is seemingly looking to retake the throne.

After an embarrassing series of flaws discovered at the eleventh hour led to a months-long delay of Samsung’s release of its first foldable phone, it seems the launch of the Galaxy Fold is finally at hand — and, in fact, only days away.

On the heels of word that pre-registrations for the $2,000 foldable recently began in China, it seems that Samsung is targeting Sept. 6 — which also happens to be the opening day of the IFA 2019 consumer electronics trade show in Berlin — as the day it will finally launch the Galaxy Fold.

If you’re an Android user, you’ll want to steer clear of a popular Android app that recently began serving up malware to unsuspecting users. The app in question is called CamScanner and has been around for nearly a decade and has accumulated well over 100 million downloads. The app itself is fairly simple insofar that offers up OCR capabilities and can convert scanned documents into PDFs.

Security researchers from Kaspersky first noticed something was amiss following app updates that rolled out in June and July of this year. Interestingly enough, malware wasn’t found in versions of the app that users downloaded in August.

Professional fighters are only human, and as such, they sometimes get into altercations with random people. Most of the time, these confrontations end badly for the challenger, since tangling with an MMA fighter is usually not a good idea. For one random (seemingly) drunk guy in Hawaii, things went better than expected when he leveled UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn during a bar scuffle, sending the fighter to the pavement.

TMZ has two videos of the incident, one of which shows the fighter locked up with the man, who is shirtless, before eventually stepping back and asking the man to punch him in the face. The man obliges and knocks Penn out cold with a well-placed left hook.

Back in 2017, Walmart launched a pilot project that made some of its old-school brick-and-mortar retail stores seem like futuristic testbeds. The chain began trialing robots that could scan shelves to make sure items display the correct price and that they’re in stock, a test that started out in 50 stores.

This year, those robots will have rolled out to 350 Walmart stores, making robots an increasingly familiar presence in the store’s aisles as shoppers hunt for the retail giant’s signature low-price deals.

It was apparently the team over at PlayStation’s turn to trounce Xbox with September’s selection of free games for subscribers, as the Games with Gold for next month are underwhelming, especially compared to August’s. But I can’t be too disappointed, as the highlight of the month is unquestionably the first season of Hitman, which remains one of my favorite games of this entire generation. If you haven’t played it yet, grab it on Sunday.

I’m not as familiar with any of the other titles, but I know a lot of people who love the Earth Defense Force games, so here’s your chance to grab one for free. Oh, and there’s a Tekken game in there as well.

NASA’s Mars 2020 mission will officially kick off in July of next year, and there’s still plenty to do before that can happen. The spacecraft NASA will send to the Red Planet needs to be fully assembled and everyone needs to be checked and checked again to ensure there are no hiccups along the way. Oh, and the Mars 2020 rover still needs a name.

As it’s done in the past, NASA is enlisting the help of the public to come up with a moniker for its fancy new robot. Starting this week, NASA is requesting that K-12 students send in their name suggestions and short essays explaining why they think their nickname would be a good fit for the rover.
