The James Webb Space Telescope is going to be an incredible tool for scientists to peer deep into space, returning information that could teach us a lot about our universe and our place in it. Sure, the people making it might be incompetent, and it’s already so far over budget that Congress had to tell Northrop Grumman’s CEO that he’s a moron, but hey, it’s going to be awesome when it’s done.

It’ll be so awesome, in fact, that researchers are actually studying what kinds of new things the telescope might reveal, and a new paper published in the Astronomical Journal suggests it could have a lot to tell us about the nearby planetary system TRAPPIST-1.

If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep at night, there are a million different issues that could be at the root of your problem. You would be surprised at how simple the solution is for so many people, though. It’s often just a matter of sounds in the surrounding area disturbing your sleep, and there’s no better way to drown it out than with the Bose Noise Masking Sleepbuds. They’re the best-selling sleep aid on Amazon right now, and they’re on sale at an all-time low of just $199 if you hurry!

Bose Noise Masking Sleepbuds: $199.00

Here are the bullet points from the product page:

  • Noise masking sleepbuds are the latest Bose innovation. They use engineered soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noise — like snoring partners and noisy neighbors — so you can fall asleep, and stay asleep
  • They may look like tiny headphones, but instead of streaming music, the sleepbuds play pre loaded soothing sounds for sleep and relaxation
  • Super tiny sleepbuds stay comfortably in place all night long, even if you sleep on your side. Choose from three included eartip sizes for the best fit
  • Although Bose pioneered noise cancelling technology, its research found noise masking is the better option for sleep
  • Rechargeable battery provides up to 16 hours of use for deep, peaceful sleep.Charging time: Up to 8 hours for sleepbuds
  • The sleepbuds work exclusively with the Bose Sleep app so you can control and customize how you sleep. Select your soothing sound, control the volume, set an alarm, and even choose how long you want your sleepbuds to play
  • Compact and convenient storage case keeps your sleepbuds safe, charged, and ready for next time. Provides one additional charge without having to plug it in
  • Your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) must support Bluetooth Low Energy (also called Bluetooth Smart) to work correctly with the Bose noise masking sleepbuds. Apple devices with iOS 10 or later are compatible, and most devices with Android 5.0 and newer versions support Bluetooth Low Energy
  • WHAT’S IN THE BOX: Bose noise masking sleepbuds, Charging/storage case, 3 pairs of StayHear+ Sleep tips (S/M/L), Wall charger, USB cable, Drawstring travel pouch

My smart TV wasn’t actually smart until I got DISH’s new Google remote

%name My smart TV wasn’t actually smart until I got DISH’s new Google remote by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Like most of you, I have several internet-connected “smart TVs” in my home, but I don’t use any of the smart features available on them. Does anyone? Streaming devices like the ones available from Roku, Amazon, and Apple all have much better interfaces and far more available apps than any smart TV platform from the likes of Samsung, LG, and other TV vendors. Media streaming gadgets like the Fire TV Stick are also so affordable now that even people who still pay for cable get them. If you want to watch live TV, you use your cable box and if you want to watch anything else, you use your streaming stick. Why bother with a smart TV interface that doesn’t even support half the apps you want to use? It’s not like smart TVs offer any other meaningful benefits, after all.

My personal setup is DISH for live TV, and then I have Apple TVs on most of the televisions in my house for streaming and “smart” features. But something happened recently that has been something of a game-changer for me: the Hopper 3 box that I use for DISH is now far smarter than my Apple TV. In fact, it’s so smart that it has even replaced my smartphone for a bunch of things, and it’s all thanks to an awesome new feature that just started rolling out a few weeks ago.

Your MacBook Pro might’ve just been banned from flights by the FAA

%name Your MacBook Pro might’ve just been banned from flights by the FAA by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple announced a recall program a few weeks ago for a limited number of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops with batteries that might overheat and pose a fire risk. Buyers of units sold between September 2015 and February 2017 — which is obviously quite a lengthy timespan — can and should have their devices serviced as soon as possible to avoid potentially serious issues. Apart from the risks, owners of these notebooks now have another reason to get them fixed: You probably won’t be allowed to board your next flight if you have a MacBook Pro that hasn’t been fixed.

I might never watch Netflix again unless I’m watching in this awesome new app

%name I might never watch Netflix again unless I’m watching in this awesome new app by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

You know how HBO’s slogan is “it’s not TV, it’s HBO”? That statement wasn’t just a slogan for so many years, it was the truth. HBO shows were in a league of their own, offering writing and production value that had no equal. These days, however, HBO isn’t what it once was. The network still makes phenomenal shows, but other networks have upped their game and you can now find “HBO-quality” shows from at least a dozen different studios. Among them is Netflix, of course, and some might say that Netflix has surpassed HBO in many ways. Just yesterday, a colleague asked me which I would choose if I had to cancel either my Netflix subscription or my HBO subscription. Even as recently as 5 years ago, there’s no way I ever would have canceled HBO. Today, however, I would choose to keep Netflix over HBO in a heartbeat. You get original shows that match HBO in terms of quality, plus a large library of third-party content with new additions all the time. This is obviously why HBO Max is in the works, but that’s another story entirely.

I don’t believe that I’m alone in thinking that Netflix is currently the one streaming service that I wouldn’t want to be without. That doesn’t mean Netflix is perfect, though. Once you pick a show, movie, or special and start streaming, you’re golden. But there are so many bumps in the road along the way on Netflix’s site that users often grow more and more annoyed each time they open it. Thankfully, I found a new app that has quickly become my favorite way to stream Netflix because it fixes all of the most annoying problems with the service’s streaming interface.

HUGE LEAK: A Foxconn employee might’ve just leaked a ton of new iPhone 11 details

%name HUGE LEAK: A Foxconn employee mightve just leaked a ton of new iPhone 11 details by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ are a week away from being released, Huawei has killer new flagship phones on the way, the OnePlus 7T Pro will likely debut soon, and Google’s hotly-anticipated Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are set to be announced less than two months from now. There are so many new flagship phones that will be released in the late summer and early fall this year, and yet it seems like almost all attention is already focused on Apple’s upcoming new iPhone 11 lineup.

The iPhone 11R, iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Max — or iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max as they’re now rumored to be named — won’t be huge upgrades compared to the current iPhone XS lineup. In fact, the iPhone 11 lineup in 2019 is shaping up to be just like the iPhone 7 lineup in 2016. Apple decided to reuse the same hardware design for a third consecutive year with the iPhone 7, but it added a few new features and an upgraded camera. This year, the iPhone 11 series will look exactly like the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR from the front, and the back will be about the same aside from the new rear cameras; according to multiple independent reports, Apple’s two flagship iPhones will have triple-lens cameras while the entry-level iPhone 11 will sport a dual-lens rear shooter.

We know so much about these upcoming new iPhone 11 handsets already thanks to all the leaks and well-sourced reports out there. Now, however, we might’ve just learned even more about these unreleased Apple phones thanks to a huge leak.
