The Apple Card is so much more revolutionary than you think

%name The Apple Card is so much more revolutionary than you think by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Here’s one of the best indicators that a new era has dawned at Apple, which has been looking for new products and services to focus on as sales of the company’s all-important iPhone continue to mature.

The fiscal third-quarter earnings Apple reported just a few days ago revealed a remarkable new reality for the company, with sales of the iPhone now representing less than half of its overall revenue. Under CEO Tim Cook, however, the company has not been waiting idly for that maturation of the product line and has redoubled its efforts on selling services, subscriptions to things like Apple Music — and on introducing new products like Apple Card, which a new survey says is shaping up to be a ‘hit’ product for Apple, despite barely any marketing.

CDC shuts down military virus lab after failed safety inspection

%name CDC shuts down military virus lab after failed safety inspection by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When you’re handling some of the world’s most deadly viruses and bacteria, safety should always be a top priority, but apparently the staff of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland, didn’t get that memo. The Centers for Disease Control has now shuttered the facility and forced a halt to all research after inspectors found multiple safety violations.

The CDC reportedly initiated the shutdown late last month and the facility has, for the moment, gone dark, as a result of having its registration with the Federal Select Agent Program suspended. This prevents the researchers from working with the deadly germs that they were studying.

%name Apple just released iOS 13 beta 6 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Surprise! Apple just released iOS 13 beta 6 and iPadOS beta 6 for developers — seemingly a bit ahead of schedule since iOS 13 beta 5 was released just last week. That makes sense though because beta 5 was reeeeeeeeeally buggy. We expect tons of beta fixes and stability improvements in iOS 13 beta 6 and the comparable iPadOS build, and there should be a few new features to be found as well.

%name Nintendo reportedly has even more new Switch models in the works by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Following months of rumors and speculation, Nintendo finally confirmed the existence of the Switch Lite last month, announcing that the new model of the console would launch on September 20th for $199. According to The Wall Street Journal, Sharp will supply Nintendo with its IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) display panels for future Switch models. The material Sharp uses for these display panels are incredibly high resolution, but don’t consume much power and are said to be very durable as well.

NASA’s Cygnus cargo vessel just left the ISS, but its mission isn’t over yet

%name NASA’s Cygnus cargo vessel just left the ISS, but its mission isn’t over yet by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

NASA’s NG-11 Cygnus resupply spacecraft spent over three months attached to the International Space Station, allowing crew members to carefully unload all supplies and experiments before being packed with anything the crew no longer needs and then departing. It was a fairly unremarkable resupply mission, but that’s about to change in a big way.

Rather than plummeting back down to Earth in a fiery blaze of glory and being destroyed in our planet’s atmosphere, the vehicle will instead spend some time in Earth orbit as engineers test a suite of new hardware. In the future, Cygnus spacecraft may be used to carry out certain scientific efforts that don’t require it to be attached to the space station itself.
