• Netflix has announced its full May 2020 releases list and as expected, it’s packed full of high-profile original movies, series, and specials.

April has already been a wonderfully solid month for Netflix in terms of new original movies and shows premiering on the service, and some of the most hotly anticipated new releases of the month are still to come. Season 2 of Ricky Gervais’s dark comedy After Life debuts tomorrow, as does the action-packed thriller Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth. Season 4 of The Last Kingdom follows two short days later, and then on Monday Netflix will release the premiere season of Never Have I Ever, a new coming of age teen comedy created by Mindy Kaling. • Apple will release its first ARM-based Mac with an in-house processor in 2021, Bloomberg reports.
• Apple’s first Mac chips will feature 8 high-performance cores and at least 4 energy-efficient cores.
• Work on second-generation Mac chips has already begun, based on the 2021 iPhone processor.

Rumors of Apple ditching Intel and designing its own processors for the Mac have been floating around for years, but a new report says the company will finally take the leap in 2021. According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to start selling computers with systems-on-a-chip designed in-house next year, barring any setbacks.

Bloomberg’s report says that Apple is working on three ARM-based Mac processors through an initiative codenamed Kalamata. The chips are said to be based on the A14 processor that will power the next iPhone, but sources say that the first of the three chips will be “much faster” than those found in iPhone and iPad models.

Despite all the craziness you’re seeing right now, there is something important that you absolutely must keep in mind: unless you’re a doctor, a nurse, or a first responder on the front lines of the war against the novel coronavirus pandemic, you don’t need an N95 respirator face mask. If you want to step things up a bit, someone reverse-engineered an N95 face mask and posted instructions to make your own, complete with a virus neutralizer. While some people talk about relaxing social distancing measures to open up the economy and allow some sense of normalcy to return, the coronavirus threat won’t go away anytime soon. Nor will most people less afraid of COVID-19 just because the government tells you that restrictions will be loosened, and you’ll be able to return to your previous life. The sad truth is that the life we had before this modern plague will not return because an official wills it so. We’ll still spend plenty of time indoors, we’ll avoid huge groups of people, we’ll have masks and hand sanitizers on us at all times, and we’ll monitor any symptom that someone associated with COVID-19. Thankfully, we’ll have plenty of entertainment at home. And that’s not just because there’s an increasing number of streaming services available right now. It’s because Netflix has plenty of original content in the works that will be released on schedule, no matter how COVID-19 restrictions would last.

• Smartphone camera review DxOMark says Galaxy S20 Ultra isn’t on par with other devices launched this year, including the Huawei P40 Pro and the Oppo Find X2.
• The Galaxy S20 Ultra score, however, is meaningless as not all aspects of photography can be measured objectively. Not to mention that the score itself doesn’t make sense to anyone trying to understand it.
• What the score and timeliness of the review seem to indicate is that the DxOMark verdict wasn’t relevant for Samsung’s marketing purposes for the new flagship series.

Samsung’s best new camera phone is the Galaxy S20 Ultra that was launched only a few months ago. The best Galaxy S20 version that you can buy has a unique rear-facing camera system that includes a 108-megapixel main sensor as well as a periscope lens that’s supposed to power that massive 100x zoom. We’ve already seen plenty of samples from S20 Ultra users that showed the latter is mainly just a marketing trick. Yes, 100x zoom is possible, but the results are often unusable. It’s the lower zoom levels that are really more impressive. Also, various reviews highlighted several camera performance issues with the Galaxy S20 that Samsung had to fix, like the problematic autofocus feature.

This brings us to the latest Galaxy S20 review, one that some people may have been waiting for before deciding on whether to buy the expensive phone or not. It’s the review from the professionals from DxOMark, which gives the S20 Ultra a meaningless score that you shouldn’t trust, especially in relationship with the other new phones out there.
