Here we go… as is tradition, we always manage to get our hands on Apple’s new iPhones a wee bit early. This year brings two different models, and judging by what has been reported and written, the iPhone 6 is the evolution of the iPhone line, while the iPhone 6 Plus can almost be considering a new type of product for Apple — one that might even be able to replace the iPad mini.

Why in God’s name do people spend days on end sitting outside the Apple Store waiting for new iPhone models? Some researchers have suggested that it helps people make friends and boost self esteem, but one iPhone fan who spoke with Barron’s says that he’s been waiting outside an Apple Store in Manhattan for 11 straight days because the iPhone 6 “brought sexy back.”

Home Depot has just confirmed what was previously rumored, that its recently announced credit card data breach may be of bigger proportions than the attack suffered by Target late last year. Reuters reports that the retail chain announced that 56 million payment cards were compromised in the attack that lasted for a few months, much longer than the Target heist – the same hacker group is believed to be behind both attacks, and many similar others targeting payment terminals in U.S. stores.

If you’re already used to sleeping on the street, you might as well sleep outside the Apple Store for a few days leading up to the launch of the iPhone 6 — after all, somebody might pay you a hefty sum for your spot in line. 9to5Mac directs our attention to a charity based in the United Kingdom that has grabbed a spot near the front of an iPhone 6 line and that is now auctioning it off on eBay to raise funds to help combat youth homelessness.

Apple is months away from releasing the new Apple Watch, so the device’s actual retail box is still a mystery. However, The Die Line features a concept from Design Packaging’s designer Evelio Mattos, who has come up with a clever retail box-wireless charger combination for the smartwatch that will also double as an iPhone dock that will be able to charge the watch and a smartphone at the same time.

There have been plenty of fantastic Android smartphones released over the last year, but none have generated quite as much excitement as the surprising OnePlus One. Seemingly from out of nowhere, OnePlus burst onto the scene with its new smartphone featuring a range of impressive specifications and an open source operating system.
