Apple is expected to release two bigger iPhone versions this fall, with Foxconn and Pegatron said to handle the massive iPhone 6 production orders. Apparently both companies are scrambling to meet massive demand, with the Economic News Daily reporting that Foxconn and Pegatron are both on hiring sprees at the moment, in anticipation of the new iPhone launch.

Apple is apparently getting ready to release iOS 7.1.2, a build that has already been released to mobile operators to test it and sign off on by Friday, June 27th. According to MacRumors, a public release could occur this week as soon as carriers approve of the new update.

The general reaction to Amazon’s Fire Phone in the United States has been underwhelming to say the least, with some well-respected critics going so far as to say it’s “dead on arrival” and could be an even bigger flop than last year’s HTC-made Facebook phone. However, The Korea Times’ sources are hearing that local mobile powerhouses Samsung and LG are actually worried about the Fire Phone for reasons that seemingly don’t make a lot of sense.

Numerous reports have claimed that HTC will make the next Nexus tablet, a high-end 8.9-inch device that could be unveiled this summer, including Google code leaks that revealed an HTC Volantis/Flounder is in the works. However, Android Police received more details about the tablet from a tipster, including a full list of specs and what looks like an early draft image for the device.

Shortly after a report revealed that Google may be interested in purchasing home-surveillance camera maker Dropcam, the Search giant has snatched up the company for a cool $555 million – well, technically it’s Nest that bought Dropcam, but Nest itself is one of Google’s most recent purchases, a deal worth $3.2 billion.

Netflix might have finally found an ally in a very contentious market. Reuters reports that German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom is in talks with Netflix regarding a potential marketing alliance once the U.S.-based video service begin its international expansion. The news comes via Manager Magazine, a German publication in which it is noted that the two companies are rather far along in negotiations, but they have not reached a deal. In fact, Netflix was still weighing its options with other German telecom companies at the time of publication.

Who would have thought that the stupidest $1 million app in world history would have shoddy security? Yo, the inexplicably dumb new messaging app that was created in just eight hours and has raised $1 million in funding, has already been hacked by college students at Georgia Tech. As TechCrunch reports, the students figured out how to get any Yo user’s phone number and then use it to spam out an infinite number of “Yo’s” to anyone in their contacts. Basically, the Georgia Tech kids have discovered how to take an app that’s already annoying and make it even more annoying.

Microsoft is set to launch the next generation of its Nokia X line of phones, at least according to two teaser images posted by Nokia. A new post on the Nokia Conversations blog suggests a new Nokia X phone could come as soon as next Tuesday. An image with an X and the date June 24th is on the site and can be seen below. The site also features a countdown clock that is counting down to June 24th. The same teaser image and countdown clock can be seen on a Chinese version of the Nokia site as well.
