Google’s co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin sat down for a lengthy interview with former Sun CEO and current venture capitalist Vinod Khosla Fortune reports. Apple was, unsurprisingly, one of the topics that came up during the discussion and Page discussed the major differences between how Google and Apple run their businesses.

It’s no secret that Steve Jobs had a mixed reputation during his tenure at Apple, but there are few individuals with a better understanding of the man than Steve Wozniak. In a recent interview with the Milwaukee Business Journal, Wozniak discussed both sides of Jobs — the discerning, thoughtful business man and the demanding, off-putting boss.

Google at I/O 2014 released a preview of Android L, its next major Android operating system version that brings a complete design makeover and a slew of new features. But the company only posted the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) Android L builds, leaving Android fans who own other Nexus devices waiting for official Android L ROMs that could be installed on the Nexus 4 smartphone or the older Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 10 tablets.
While Google is yet to release the official Android L Developer Preview for older Nexus devices, developers have already put the Android L SDK and Android L source code to good use to come up with their own Android L ports for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012).

Even though some say the Nexus line of devices is approaching the end of the road, Google has recently confirmed that it doesn’t plan to kill the family of devices which it uses to highlight its vision of what Android should look and feel like on smartphones and tablets. Some reports have already mentioned a high-end HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet is coming later this year, with one particular story offering plenty of details about the tablet that’s supposed to launch alongside the final Android L build this fall.
However, it’s not clear what the name of Google’s 2014 tablet will be. And now a Nexus 8 tablet, which was also mentioned in previous months, was spotted in a shipping manifest on Indian cargo tracking site Zauba.

The single most annoying criticism that people have about Apple CEO Tim Cook is that he isn’t running the company like Steve Jobs would have run it. While it’s undoubtably true that Cook is running Apple much differently than the way Jobs ran it, Cook doesn’t have much of an option — he’s just not a charismatic visionary like Jobs and there’s nothing he can do to change that.

In what could have been one of the most terrifying disasters of the decade, a UTair Boeing 767 had to abort its landing when an errant Aerolíneas Argentinas Airbus suddenly taxied onto the runway during the plane’s descent. With seconds to spare, the pilot of the 767 pulled back up, narrowly avoiding the other plane and potentially saving hundreds of lives.

Is there anything that Microsoft can do at this point to create a substantially larger user base for Windows Phone? At this point things don’t look great, but we wouldn’t completely count Microsoft out just yet. Neowin’s sources say that Microsoft is working on two new smartphones that will both have the most intriguing Windows Phone feature we’ve heard about so far: 3D Touch.

One lucky job seeker from Europe is about to find out as Netflix has announced it is looking for a new “tagger” in the UK and Ireland, another facet of the company’s continued expansion throughout Europe. Taggers are given the envious task of watching dozens of movies and TV shows on Netflix and then describing everything they watch using objective tags. This is the first stage of the Netflix recommendation system, combining with a complex algorithm to ensure your profile is unique and aligns with your viewing habits.

After raising over $300,000 during a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo earlier this year, the team behind the Tango PC has taken to Kickstarter to raise the remaining funds to finish building the PC you can fit in your pocket. Not only is the Tango PC ultraportable, the team also claims that it is a formidable gaming machine and office companion as well.
