Awesome news for everyone who owns one of HTC’s last two flagship phones: You’ll be getting the latest version of Android… at some point. HTC announced on Wednesday that it will bring Android L to both the HTC One (M7) and the HTC One (M8) “within 90 days of receiving final software from Google.” It’s not surprising that the One (M8) is getting Android L since it just came out earlier this year but it’s good to see that HTC is committed to bringing Android L to anyone who bought its 2013 flagship smartphone as well.

SamMobile points us to a new report in Korean publication NewsTomato claiming that Samsung is rushing to get Galaxy Note 4 production up to speed so it can launch the device right after its unveiling at IFA 2014 this September.

Google got its annual I/O conference off to a fast start on Wednesday when it announced that it would be bringing interactive notifications to Android starting with Android L. Among other things, the notification center will make sure that when you receive a phone call, it won’t interrupt what you’re doing on your device. So for instance, if you’re playing a game on your Android phone and a friend calls, their call notification won’t take up the entire screen. Rather, it will pop up at the top of your display and give you the option of either answering or dismissing it. Additionally, the new notifications centers makes it much easier to unlock your phones with alternatives to traditional PIN numbers while also giving you more options for prioritizing your notifications.
