2015 is going to be the year that all the potential of next-gen finally comes to fruition. With an extensive amount of development behind them, both major developers and indie studios alike will have the experience necessary to start taking advantage of the power within the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. We can see glimmers of what this generation will be in some recent releases such as Watch Dogs and Titanfall, but we’ve only scratched the surface. In 2015, we’ll have arrived.

If you don’t understand why Amazon is releasing its first smartphone as an exclusive device for AT&T, you aren’t alone. T-Mobile CEO John Legere took to Twitter on Tuesday to bash Amazon for its reported decision to go with AT&T as its exclusive carrier for the new smartphone it will unveil on Wednesday.

As revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference last week, Destiny is going to be chock full of exclusive content for PS4 and PS3 owners at launch. We’ve been hearing reports of Apple developing an iWatch for years now but the company still hasn’t released it yet and probably won’t until this coming fall. Why the delay? An Economic Daily News report flagged by G for Games lets us know: It’s because Apple doesn’t want to release a smartwatch until it’s sure that it will have the best battery power of any wearable computer around.

It’s not unusual for email services to occasionally go down. But to have them go down for days on end without any official estimate of when they’ll be working again? That can only happen through the magic of Time Warner Cable. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that customers who use TWC’s Road Runner webmail service have had problems sending and receiving messages in a timely manner for days on end and TWC isn’t offering any updates on when it will be fixed except to say, “we… continue to make this a top priority.”

Apple released its first iOS 8 beta on June 2nd and anyone who has installed it since then knows it’s a bit rough around the edges. Of course, this is entirely expected — Apple’s early iOS betas are always riddled with issues that Apple fixes in the months leading up to its public release. Though tens of thousands of non-developers install the software on their personal devices each year, it is intended only for developers so they can update their apps and build new ones ahead of iOS 8’s release this fall. They also help Apple identify bugs, of course, and their feedback has been put to use in iOS 8 beta 2, which is now available to download.

Earlier this month, reports began trickling out about some of the scariest Android malware the world has ever seen. Dubbed Simplocker, the malicious software holds an Android smartphone or tablet hostage by encrypting all of the device’s photo, videos and documents. If the owner wishes to decrypt his or her data, a ransom is demanded. But now, thanks to Avast, there is a free way to fight Simplocker and regain control of your data without having to pay hackers a dime.

Following the iPhone 6, which regularly appears in pictures in mockup form, an iPad Air 2 mockup – or sixth-generation iPad – has also leaked in similar images, Phone Arena reveals. The images reportedly show the final design of the iPad Air 2, with dimensions, design, ports, camera and button placements supposedly an exact match with the actual iPad Air 2 that will launch later this year.
