Shortly after EA confirmed the existence of Battlefield Hardline, the next game in the enormously popular first-person shooter series, a YouTube user leaked an extensive 7 minute trailer, exposing the new mutliplayer modes and the single-player campaign. EA had originally planned on saving the reveal for E3, but as with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare earlier this month, the leak was almost automatic.

Apple is still running like a well oiled money machine but that doesn’t mean the company is free of questions about its future. Asymco’s Horace Dediu has put together a list of burning questions that he’d like to see Apple executives Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi answer at Re/code’s big tech conference this week and we think they’re actually applicable to Apple as a whole, especially since the company is facing tougher competition than it’s faced in years, not only from big players such as Google and Microsoft in the mobile ecosystem world but also from smaller companies such as Pandora and Spotify, which have both been eroding its dominant position in the digital music business.

It wasn’t exactly a surprise since specs and details surrounding LG’s new flagship smartphone have been leaking for months, but the company finally unveiled its new G3 handset on Tuesday. We took an early look at the phone in our hands-on LG G3 preview, and we found that LG’s new flagship phone outshines its predecessor in just about every way.

LG certainly has an uphill climb if it hopes to compete with top rival Samsung, but thanks to cutting-edge technology and a few innovative features, there are also several areas where the G3 doesn’t just top the G2, it outshines Samsung’s market-leading Galaxy S5 as well.

Microsoft at Re/code‘s Code Conference revealed that it’s moving forward with its Skype voice and video call translation product, demoing on stage a pre-beta version of Skype Translator, which could be the final name of the product. The service will allow users to talk to each other via Skype in their own language and speech will be translated on the fly.

Apple still hasn’t responded publicly to reports that hackers have breached Apple’s iCloud system and hacked it in order to unlock stolen iPhones. While that doesn’t bode well, the company did at least respond to a more recent series of reports of another iCloud breach that allowed hackers to digitally hijack iPhones and hold them hostage for a ransom.

Apple is expected to announce its Beats acquisition this week, the New York Post has learned, and the iPhone maker will apparently acquire Dr. Dre’s company for less than initially expected. Apparently leaks in the press – not related to Dre’s acknowledgement of the deal recorded on video – convinced Apple lawyers to re-evaluate the purchase, and offer Beats “just” $3 billion, down $200 million from the previous offer.
