It looks like Apple really does have plans to make an iPhone with a Liquidmetal chassis at some point in the future, although it likely won’t be the iPhone 6. AppleInsider has found a recently granted Apple patent that details a way to embed a sapphire or glass display into a chassis made from amorphous metal that AppleInsider says must be a reference to Liquidmetal.

Last week, a developer revealed to the world just how easy it is for a nefarious hacker to use your Android phone to spy on you. With some simplecode that utilized a serious security hole, the developer was able to create a program that caused an Android handset’s camera to covertly capture photos on command, and then transmit those photos to a remote server without the user ever knowing.
The idea that your smartphone might be taking photos of you and sending them to a hacker without your knowledge is absolutely terrifying. But as it turns out, there’s an app that can guarantee your phone isn’t spying on you.

Spotify on Tuesday announced that a hacker had broken into its systems and used it to access internal company data. The company says that so far only one of its users’ accounts has been compromised in the breach so far, but it’s nonetheless taking extra steps to ensure its customers’ private data stays safe.

Rarely do we see a smartphone leak as extensively as the LG G3 did ahead of Tuesday’s official unveiling — just about everything you could possibly want to know about LG’s 2014 flagship phone has already leaked. In fact, LG itself became the biggest culprit on Monday when LG Netherlands accidentally published a dozen official images of the G3 along with the phone’s complete specs. LG put a lot of time and money into its three simultaneous G3 press conferences on Tuesday, however, and BGR will be on hand at the New York event with live coverage. After all, the least you can do is play along and act surprised.

There have been plenty of iPhone diehards who have tried making the switch to Android over the years, and while some of them liked what they’ve seen, others haven’t been able to last even a single day. UI design expert Hillel Cooperman, a former Microsoft user experience expert and cofounder of user experience design consulting firm Jackson Fish Market, falls squarely into the latter category. Cooperman recently decided to put down his iPhone and pick up an HTC One just so he could get an understanding of Android’s user interface and he seemed to dislike everything about both HTC’s flagship phone and Google’s mobile platform.

Following reports that in Germany Apple has frozen retail store staff holidays for September, suggesting that the iPhone 6 will be released during the month, German publication ApfelPage has apparently learned that country’s main mobile operator is trying to ink new deals with customers whose contracts are about to expire by revealing to them when the iPhone 6 will launch.

Apple is widely expected to launch two new iPhone models again in 2014, just as it did last year with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. This time, however, both devices will be completely new iPhone models unlike any device Apple has launched to date.
Following a report from well-sourced KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company has long been expected to debut a new 4.7-inch iPhone 6 around September and then launch a larger 5.5-inch iPhone phablet later in the year, but a new report could suggest that the launches of Apple’s two new iPhone models will be closer than expected.

KGI Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has provided ample and accurate details about unreleased Apple devices in the past, has revealed in a new note to investors that all 2014 iPhones and iPads will come with a Touch ID home button, which will let users unlock their devices using only their fingerprints.
