Netflix has apparently done a good job of training people to expect to pay only rock-bottom prices for a streaming video subscription service. A new poll finds that most people think all the streaming services they pay for — from Hulu to Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Disney+ and Apple TV+ — should cost a combined $21 or so, at most.

That’s the takeaway from a new Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult poll which finds that $21 is the optimal sweet spot within customers’ range of price expectations (between $17 and $27) that they have for their streaming subscriptions in aggregate. With the low end being “too good to be true” and obviously the high end representing the “too expensive” side of the range.

Humans have never set foot on Mars, but that’s not stopping scientists from doing their best to understand what it might be like when that day eventually comes. Researchers using data from NASA’s InSight lander are taking that idea to the extreme by testing what a particularly intense Marsquake might feel like using a special room-scale simulator.

As NASA details in a new blog post, the so-called “shake room” allows scientists to feel an ultra-amplified version of the shaking detected by the InSight lander’s seismometer, and it definitely looks intense.

It looks like almost no one canceled their HBO subscription after ‘Game of Thrones’ ended

%name It looks like almost no one canceled their HBO subscription after ‘Game of Thrones’ ended by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

HBO’s post-Game of Thrones subscriber base is still proving as resilient as the fortifications of a Westerosi castle.

The series finale of the network’s massively popular fantasy show back in May sparked some worries that HBO might be in for a subscriber exodus to some degree. Along with questions about whether HBO could keep the hits coming now that its blockbuster was finally disappearing for good — at least until the GoT prequel series arrives. Tesla sold a record number of Model 3s last quarter as revenue hit $6.3 billion

%name Tesla sold a record number of Model 3s last quarter as revenue hit $6.3 billion by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Tesla posted its earnings for the June quarter today and, per usual, there’s a lot to dissect. Revenue wise, the company generated $6.3 billion compared to $4 billion during the year-ago quarter. Analysts on Wall Street, meanwhile, were anticipating revenue to fall somewhere in the $6.4 billion range.

Earnings wise, Tesla posted EPS of $1.12. This compares to a loss of $3.06 per share during the same quarter last year. And while that is clearly a step in the right direction, analysts on Wall Street were anticipating a smaller loss in the range of $0.55 per share. So while Tesla didn’t lose as much money as it did compared to last year, the extent of Tesla’s quarterly loss sent the stock tumbling down nearly 10% in after hours trading.
