SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket in the early hours of Tuesday morning, delivering 24 satellites into orbit and making many of its clients very happy in the process. The company nailed the landing of both side boosters, but the center core booster narrowly missed its landing and splashed down in the ocean instead.

In the hours following the launch, SpaceX boss Elon Musk weighed in on the unfortunate fate of the core booster, offering a bit of an explanation as to why it missed its mark.

Forget the Galaxy Note 10: Samsung is making a more affordable 5G phone

%name Forget the Galaxy Note 10: Samsung is making a more affordable 5G phone by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Galaxy Note 10 is launching soon, complete with a brand new design and a few novel features, but this Samsung flagship will be at least as expensive as the Galaxy S10 series that launched earlier this year. And if you’re gunning for a 5G version of the Note 10, then you’ll have to pay even more.

But Samsung is also doing something it hasn’t done before; it’s working on a brand new flagship device that won’t be as expensive as the S10 or Note 10. Moreover, this rumored Galaxy A90 phone will deliver 5G connectivity as well as 45W charging speeds — something that hasn’t been available on any Samsung flagship to date.

NASA will finally let scientists play with Moon rocks from the Apollo campaign

%name NASA will finally let scientists play with Moon rocks from the Apollo campaign by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s been a while since NASA astronauts last explored the lunar surface. During the Apollo missions which first saw man set foot on another astronomical body, the brave space travelers brought back more than their fair share of artifacts when they returned to Earth. Now, after decades of waiting, some of those Moon rock samples will finally be unsealed for study.

As AP reports, the samples have been sitting under lock and key at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and with rapidly-advancing technology, it’s finally time for scientists to see what secrets they may hold.

Microsoft is reportedly testing two exciting new Surface models

%name Microsoft is reportedly testing two exciting new Surface models by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A rumor earlier this week claimed that Microsoft is working on a Surface notebook based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx platform that was designed for 2019 Windows 10 devices, and we now have more details on the matter.

It appears that Microsoft wants to power a Surface Pro with the 8cx, which will be a custom version of Qualcomm’s chip. Moreover, Microsoft is also looking at AMD processors for the Surface Laptop line, as it wants to explore options other than Intel.

%name PlayStation Plus free games for July: ‘PES 2019’ and ‘Horizon Chase Turbo’ by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Right on the heels of E3 2019, Sony returns with yet another underwhelming selection of free PlayStation 4 games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Both games are solid entries in their respective franchises, but they don’t hold a candle to last month’s duo. That said, if you’re in the market for a free soccer game, you’re in luck.

I haven’t played Horizon Chase Turbo on consoles, but the original Horizon Chase on iOS and Android was a solid throwback racer, with aesthetics that mirrored ’80s arcade games but boosted the fidelity. I’ll definitely be giving the console port a test run when it goes free at the beginning of next month.

NASA’s search for signs of life on Mars yields another shock

%name NASA’s search for signs of life on Mars yields another shock by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It was just a couple of days ago that NASA announced something pretty exciting about Mars. Its Curiosity rover had detected shockingly high levels of methane, suggesting an unseen geological or even biological process was at work on the planet. Signs of past or present life? Perhaps, but a follow-up reading has now generated more questions than answers.

Along with its original announcement of Curiosity’s methane findings, NASA said it would conduct another reading in short order to determine whether or not the elevated methane level was consistent. Well, its second reading revealed a dramatic drop in the amount of methane in the air, leaving scientists to wonder what is causing methane “plumes” on Mars.
