NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope is finally nearing the end of an absolutely incredible journey. Remember those gorgeous Pixel 4 renders that showed us a phone featuring a dual-lens hole-punch display on the front, a la Samsung’s Galaxy S10? It turns out that was a real Pixel 4 design prototype, according to a brand new report, although it’s not what Google landed on for the final design. Also, remember that rumor that said Google had three distinct design teams working on the Pixel 4? Apparently, that’s true too.

Switch up your protein sources to live longer, study says

%name Switch up your protein sources to live longer, study says by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Studies focusing on potential links between consumption of red meat and overall life expectancy have long suggested that eating a lot of red meat — especially if it’s been processed — may increase overall mortality.

Consumption of processed red meat has been implicated in the rise of cardiovascular health issues in the past, and a new study seems to strongly support those earlier findings. The study, which was published in the journal BMJ, utilized health data and dietary habits of over 80,000 men and women, tracking the changes in red meat intake to draw broad trends over time.

Amazon is being sued over claims that Alexa ‘routinely records’ children

%name Amazon is being sued over claims that Alexa ‘routinely records’ children by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Anyone who opens YouTube can find countless videos of children reacting with glee and amusement when conversing with Alexa, the digital voice assistant that powers Amazon’s smart speaker products. That’s to be expected, given that Amazon quickly solidified an entrenched market leadership position in the smart speaker category, with its line of Echo devices and the like now a staple of many ordinary consumers’ homes.

But is there a privacy cost to that ubiquity? A pair of lawsuits seeking class-action status against Amazon would argue, emphatically, yes.

Just hours after Google shocked all of us by partially unveiling the design of the Pixel 4 months ahead of schedule, confirming many of the leaks that had sprung up in recent weeks in the process, a release date for the phone might have emerged. On Thursday morning, VentureBeat’s Evan Blass shared a screenshot of what seems to be a leaked Verizon marketing calendar containing the release dates of multiple “tier 1” mobile devices.

In addition to featuring the May launch of the Pixel 3a, the calendar also suggests that the Galaxy Note 10 will launch in August, the iPhone 11 will debut in late September, and the Pixel 4 will arrive in October. All of these dates line up with our expectations pretty much to a tee, but more proof never hurts.
