Los Angeles-based startup Livit wants to bring a new type of content to mobile users by harnessing live streaming and virtual reality.
Livit, which describes itself as the first mobile live virtual reality streaming platform, delivered VR livestreams from Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington D.C. last month.
To stream from an event, the free Livit app connects wirelessly to the 360fly panoramic video camera. Users can watch the VR live streams at any time on Android and iOS devices, with or without a VR headset or cardboard glasses.
