Apple left key iPhone SE specs a mystery, but they were just revealed

%name Apple left key iPhone SE specs a mystery, but they were just revealed by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s second-generation iPhone SE release date has now been made official, as have several of the new 4.7-inch iPhone model’s key specs.
  • The 2020 version of Apple’s iPhone SE has the same design as the iPhone 8 from 2017, but it packs upgraded specs like the new A13 Bionic processor from the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.
  • Some specs were left a mystery by Apple and still aren’t available on the company’s iPhone SE page, but a leak reveals two important details about the upcoming new iPhone that will be released next Friday.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

All things considered, there’s a very good chance that the second-generation iPhone SE is the best new smartphone of 2020. Think about it. $399 gets you a brand new smartphone with cutting-edge specs that’s faster and more powerful than just about any Android flagship phone on the planet right now. How crazy is that? You can order a $399 iPhone SE right now that’s more powerful than Android smartphones that cost more than $1,000! There are obviously a few tradeoffs, of course, and the biggest one is the phone’s design. It’s true that the smaller 4.7-inch display will appeal to plenty of people out there, but the design of the 2020 iPhone SE is anything but modern. In fact, the phone has practically the same design as the iPhone 6 that was released all the way back in 2014.

The idea of buying a brand new iPhone with a design that’s six years old will certainly be off-putting to some, even with the shockingly low price tag that comes along with it. If you want the latest and greatest from Apple, you’ll obviously need to spring for an iPhone 11 or an iPhone 11 Pro model instead. But the iPhone SE offers impressive features and the return of Touch ID for a wonderfully affordable price, and now a new leak reveals a few additional details that might help seal the deal.

We were all wrong about the iPhone 12 Pro design – here’s what it really looks like

%name We were all wrong about the iPhone 12 Pro design – here’s what it really looks like by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s iPhone 12 release is still at least 5 months away but it seems like we’ve known nearly everything there is to know about the upcoming new smartphone series forever.
  • As it turns out, new leaks suggest that a few key things we thought we know about the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro’s design were wrong.
  • A new video shows us exactly what Apple’s stunning new iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will look like… from the back, at least.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

It’s officially smartphone season and tons of exciting new flagship handsets are set to hit the market in the coming months. The most recent announcements from OnePlus, which shocked Android fans around the globe despite the fact that nearly all of the details surrounding the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro had already leaked well ahead of their official unveiling. One of the last details that were still unknown was pricing, and it turns out that OnePlus is no longer a provider of low-cost flagship killers. It’s now a premium brand and it’s next-generation OnePlus 8 lineup carries premium pricing that starts at $699 and climbs as high as $999 for a top-of-the-line OnePlus 8 Pro.

Plenty more Android phones are due to launch in the coming months, though some are obviously more exciting than others. One thing they all have in common, however, is the fact that the hype surrounding their launches is dwarfed by Apple’s upcoming new iPhone 12 lineup. Apple is set to release a brand new stable of smartphones that pack a ton of new features and the first big redesign since the iPhone X debuted back in 2017. As it turns out, however, a few things we thought we knew about Apple’s iPhone 12 design turned out to be wrong.

Secret sale: Get a Fire TV Stick 4K at Amazon’s lowest price ever

%name Secret sale: Get a Fire TV Stick 4K at Amazon’s lowest price ever by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Amazon isn’t currently advertising any deals on its streaming media players — in fact, Amazon’s daily deals page is now hidden but we recently told you how to find it.
  • Even if you do make your way to that page and to the many deals sections linked therein, you still won’t find the secret, unadvertised sale that Amazon is running right now on the Fire TV Stick 4K.
  • A select group of people can buy Amazon’s 4K streaming dongle for just $24.99 using the coupon code 4KFIRETV, but the deal isn’t available to everyone.
  • If you can’t get that deal, there’s another sale available to everyone that’s almost as good.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Amazon has been offering great deals on its various Amazon device lineups for the past few weeks, which comes as something of a surprise since the company recently shifted its attention away from “nonessential” products. This way, Amazon can free up warehouse space and shipping capacity for important products like face masks and sanitizers, which are currently only available to ship to hospitals and government buyers.

Well, apparently Amazon devices are essential because we haven’t seen very many shipping delays at all on Amazon’s various device lines. In fact, the company has continued to offer new deals all the time, focusing mainly on a different Amazon device category each week. This week, Echo smart speakers and Echo Show displays are the focus and you’ll find plenty of solid discounts such as an Echo Dot for $39.99 or $40 off the Echo Show 8. But there’s one special deal you won’t find anywhere on that page or anywhere else, and it might just be the hottest deal on Amazon’s entire site right now.

If you’re one of the lucky people eligible to get in on the action based on Amazon’s unknown criteria, you can slash the price of the $50 Fire TV Stick 4K down to just $24.99. That is not a typo. It’s the lowest price ever for a 4K Fire TV Stick, matching Amazon’s deal from Prime Day 2019. As we mentioned, the only problem is that not everyone is eligible for this deal. Go to the Fire TV Stick 4K page on Amazon’s website and if you get lucky, you might see a note under the $49.99 price that looks like this:

Now, it’s important to note that you need to give this deal a shot even if you don’t see that note because the special coupon might still work. Drop a Fire TV Stick 4K into your cart and use the promo code 4KFIRETV at checkout. If you’re eligible for the deal, the price will drop to $24.99. If you’re not eligible for the deal, you’ll see a message that the coupon code is not valid — but don’t get too upset because we’ve got another Fire TV Stick 4K deal for you down below.

Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, includes the Ale…: $24.99 (use code 4KFIRETV)

First, you can read about the aforementioned offer on Amazon’s terms and conditions page right here:

This is a limited time offer. Qualifying customers only. Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time. Offer good while supplies last. Offer only applies to Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote, streaming media player sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to discounted items. Offer limited to one per customer and account. Offer is non-transferable, may not be resold, and may not be combined with other offers. To redeem this offer, please enter the promo code during checkout. Promotional code valid until 11:59 p.m. (PT) December 31, 2020. If any of the products related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product, subject to applicable refund policies.

Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, includes the Ale…: $24.99 (use code 4KFIRETV)

Now, if the coupon mentioned above doesn’t work for you, there’s actually another good deal that anyone can take advantage of. Just buy two Fire TV Stick 4K players and you’ll receive a $20 Amazon credit when you receive and activate them. That essentially cuts the Fire TV Stick 4K to the same price as the entry-level Fire TV Stick, which isn’t too shabby at all. Here are the terms and conditions for this separate Fire TV deal that’s available to anyone.

The HP Elite Dragonfly is a perfect companion for working on the go

%name The HP Elite Dragonfly is a perfect companion for working on the go by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In this day and age, the ability to work remotely is a necessity for many jobs. Logging on and connecting from an airport, train, hotel room, or wherever you are is vital to everyday business. It’s almost crazy to think that even just 20 years ago, that was much harder since many people had desktop computers and cell phones that could pretty much only make phone calls. These days, a business laptop has become one of the most prominent accessories for many companies. If you’re in the market for a versatile laptop that is built for travel, the HP Elite Dragonfly is an excellent choice.

Recently, I’ve been able to test out the HP Elite Dragonfly and there is a lot to love about a laptop that is so easy to bring with you from place to place. The sleek design is among its top features, as the 13.3″ diagonal display is a Full HD touchscreen. When it’s shut, it’s about as thin as you can find and it only weighs a little over two pounds. You can toss this in any backpack, laptop bag, or you can just tuck it under your arm and bring it with you. It also features HP Sure View, which will scan your face to open your laptop, adding more privacy than most computers.

Even if you’re on the floor in your airport terminal, you’ll be able to get an easy connection with the gigabit-speed Wi-Fi 6. In crazy hectic environments, it still works well. The HP Premium Collaboration Keyboard has buttons with a coating that makes typing for long periods of time much easier on your fingers. It’s also extremely quiet so when you’re using this laptop, the people around you will barely know you’re typing, which has really come in handy with multiple people working from home where I’ve been.

Even the trackpad is silent and smooth, so you won’t have to think twice about cranking out some pages for your screenplay at your local coffee shop. With the trackpad, clicking in the bottom right corner will act like right-clicking with a mouse, so you’ll have an easier time with those controls. There are multiple ways to customize your trackpad, as sliding one, two, or three fingers in various directions can be set for different tasks.

It runs on Windows 10 Pro 64, which is user-friendly even if you’ve been a macOS user for years like I have. It doesn’t take long at all to get acclimated. You’ll love how many different tasks you’ll be able to handle at once thanks to fantastic multitasking features. And with the 8th Generation Intel® Core processor, you’ll be able to have as many apps open as you want while you stream music and even watching videos all at once (which may seem like a headache, but you can do it). It may not be ideal for people running high-end design programs, but for most of us who need a work laptop, it’s excellent.

%name The HP Elite Dragonfly is a perfect companion for working on the go by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

This laptop is on the more expensive side, as it starts at $1,749. If you are someone who spends a lot of time on his or her laptop either for work or pleasure, then this is an investment that could definitely be reasonable for you. This laptop can pretty much handle any task, so if you’re working, streaming, or even gaming, you’ll be able to do it with ease. Plus the battery life is really impressive, as a full charge can last up to 13 hours.

The visuals are striking thanks to Intel® UHD Graphics 620. Streaming your favorite movies and shows on this laptop is so easy. It’s a 2-in-1 device when you need it to be, so you can also fold the screen nearly 360 degrees and turn it into a tablet within seconds. The system will also ask you if you want to switch to tablet mode when you reach a certain angle, which is extremely helpful. You can even prop it up to stand on its own, making it ideal for business presentations.

The HD touchscreen is always available, whether you’re using this as a laptop or a tablet. It’s extremely responsive to your touch, allowing you to use it many different ways. I found it easy to swipe through different tabs on my browser or move through a slideshow without a hitch. For such a tiny machine, the internal speakers from Bang & Olufsen provide an immersive sound experience. The sound quality is pure, even if you’re hearing it from another room.

I didn’t have many complaints about the machine, but one I did have was the fact that the power port is on the right side. I found this a bit annoying since I am a right-handed user who does enjoy using a mouse when I’m sitting at a desk using the computer, so the power cable kept interfering with my mouse’s movement. There is also only one USB port, which can be a problem if you are on the go and have to plug in some other devices.

The HP Elite Dragonfly truly does encompass the word “elite” when it comes to versatility in a work laptop. You’ll be able to pack it up and bring it with you without any hassle and even after a full day of working, you can stream your favorite shows on it to wind down. The touchscreen capabilities and speaker system make it great to use for business or pleasure. It’s a highly efficient machine that thrives in today’s business landscape.

Our readers have been going crazy all week long for Amazon’s deals on Apple’s true wireless earbuds, which is totally understandable since AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case are down to a new all-time low of $149.98 and AirPods Pro happen to be on sale at Black Friday’s all-time low price. Those deals are fantastic indeed, but there’s another batch of bargains we need to tell you about before they disappear.

Amazon may have shifted much of its focus away from shipping nonessential products so that it can ship more medical supplies to hospitals and state governments. It may have also hidden its deals page temporarily, though we already told you the trick to finding it. None of that can stop Amazon from offering fantastic deals on its own Amazon devices though, and there are a whopping 10 different device deals that we need to tell you about right now.

First up, Amazon’s wildly popular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale at its lowest price ever with coupon code 4KFIRETV, but there’s a catch: this deal is only available to select customers. New Nintendo Switch might have two displays

  • Nintendo might be working on a dual-screen Switch 2 console, according to code found in the latest firmware update.
  • Firmware 10.0.0 contains profiles for a new hardware model that would feature a second display of sorts.
  • It’s unclear how a dual-display Switch would work, and there’s no evidence to suggest that Nintendo is planning an upgrade anytime soon.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Microsoft and Sony are supposed to launch brand new consoles this year, assuming the novel coronavirus pandemic doesn’t delay the Xbox Series X and PS5. But there’s no indication that Nintendo is looking to launch a more powerful Switch successor to take on the two new devices. The Japanese gaming giant released a mild Switch refresh last year alongside a handheld-only version of the Switch and shot down all reports that said a more meaningful upgrade was in the works. After all, the Switch has been selling out recently, as the health crises impacted Nintendo’s supply chain. Nintendo’s extensive collection of games that aren’t available anywhere else is what makes the Switch so appealing, even though its hardware is hardly a match for the PS4 or Xbox One.

A new discovery in the latest Switch software update indicates that a Switch 2 might indeed be in the works, and the new console might have two displays.

New iPhone SE might be Google’s worst nightmare

%name New iPhone SE might be Google’s worst nightmare by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The 2020 iPhone SE comes with the same powerful chip as the iPhone 11, making the handset faster than most competitors, Pixel 4 included.
  • The Pixel 5 is rumored to feature a cheaper Snapdragon processor than the Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 phones.
  • In such a scenario, the iPhone SE would be speedier than Google’s new Pixel.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Apple launched the second-gen Pixel SE on Wednesday, putting an end to all the “iPhone 9” rumors. The phone is indeed exactly what we expected. It has the guts of an iPhone 11 packed inside of the chassis of the iPhone 8. It has the same camera as the iPhone XR, but it’s powered by Apple’s A13 chip that’s found inside the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. It comes with 3GB of RAM, according to early estimates, or as much RAM as the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, and iPhone XS. And finally, it rocks the Touch ID fingerprint sensor you love. Like the iPhone 8 series, the new iPhone SE features a glass sandwich design, which means there’s a wireless charging coil inside the handset, but wired charging is as fast as iPhone 11 at 18W. Finally, the handset comes with IP67 water and dust certification. Starting at $399, this is the best affordable iPhone ever and a device that will simply destroy mid-range Android rivals. Just a few days ago, I told you how the $399 Pixel 4a will be no match for the iPhone SE. At the time, the iPhone SE specs above were only rumors. But now that Apple confirmed everything, the iPhone SE shapes up to be not just a better alternative than the Pixel 4a, but also a phone that could turn out to be the Pixel 5’s worst nightmare.

That ‘alien probe’ asteroid might be a chunk of an alien planet

%name That ‘alien probe’ asteroid might be a chunk of an alien planet by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Oumuamua, the first interstellar object spotted by mankind, might be a fragment of a planet that was torn apart by its star.
  • Researchers ran simulations to try to explain the object’s bizarre, cigar-like shape.
  • First spotted in late 2017, Oumuamua is speeding out of our solar system as we speak.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

It’s hard to believe it was way back in 2017 that astronomers spotted the very first interstellar object in our solar system. The object — a long, cigar-shaped mass known as Oumuamua — sped into our system so fast that scientists barely had a chance to spot and study it. By the time they could focus their attention (and high-tech hardware) on it, it was already leaving. Nevertheless, a great deal of data was gathered, and researchers have been working hard to explain the object’s origins ever since.

Scientists argued over whether it was an asteroid, comet, or perhaps even an object created by aliens. All possible options were seemingly already on the table, but a research paper published in Nature Astronomy offers a new and incredibly interesting theory to explain Oumuamua.
