It’s one of several factors doctors are taking into account when diagnosing new patients and determining who should get tested. As CNN reports, some coronavirus victims have been waiting for their sense of smell to return for weeks, and fears of permanent loss of smell are spreading.

Remasters of old video games can sometimes feel like cheap cash grabs, but over the last two years, we have seen developers take classic titles and completely rebuild them from the ground up, to the point where they’re hardly even recognizable as remakes. Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII remake is being lauded as one of the best games of 2020, and it launched just seven days after Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake, which has also been well received.

But few game studios, if any, have made remakes as much of a priority as Capcom. Resident Evil 2 was the top-rated game of 2019, Resident Evil 3 somehow launched just 15 months later, and now Video Games Chronicle reports that the studio is working on a Resident Evil 4 remake that has an estimated release window of 2022.

Let me tell you a little story about the time many, many years ago that I was running late for a big family dinner in downtown Manhattan. According to several top health experts, there are actually some early indications that the worst of the novel coronavirus pandemic might be behind us here in the United States.

Apple has been upgrading its Apple Maps navigation apps in the past few years to try to catch up with Google’s Maps product. The latter isn’t the default mapping and navigation app on iOS, but plenty of iPhone users still use it. Google Maps offers a more feature-rich experience than Apple Maps, and that’s understandable given Google’s development lead on Apple. But Apple Maps is about to get a feature that Google Maps should copy as soon as possible as it’s related to the novel coronavirus health crisis. Apple Maps will soon direct you to the closes COVID-19 testing center near you, which is the kind of information you should find in a navigation app during a pandemic.

The iPhone 12 5G will come in four distinct sizes featuring a 2018 iPad Pro-like design, a new report says.
The handsets will have flat edges, curved corners, and flat screens.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro versions are still expected to launch this fall, but the release dates might slip because of the novel coronavirus health crisis.

The novel coronavirus pandemic may have thrown a wrench in Apple’s product launch plans this year, but the company is still going to refresh plenty of products, both on the software and hardware side of things. Apple already updated the MacBook Air and iPad Pro, and it’s expected to unveil the iPhone SE later this week. WWDC 2020 will be the first developers’ conference not to offer an in-person experience, but the event will move online to unveil the latest software innovations from Cupertino. The iPhone 12 series is still expected to be unveiled in September, even though some models might not ship during the same month. The number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations is apparently reaching enough of a turning point in the US that officials beyond just President Trump are now hopeful that the process of reopening the country could get started sometime in May.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, a key member of the White House coronavirus response task force, signaled this weekend that it’s probably time to start getting parts of the country reopened sometime in May, a stance in line with President Trump’s.

If you’ve been among the many Americans trying in vain to get an answer to the question of when the country might be able to start opening back up again, some semblance of a timeframe is starting to emerge that may satisfy you, at last. During an Easter Sunday news show interview, one of the country’s top experts on infectious diseases feels confident enough in pointing to May as the month when, finally, restrictions on business closures and social-distancing guidelines may finally start to be loosened. But only in parts of the country, which is the massive caveat to be aware of.
