  • Amazon has temporarily stopped shipping many of the nonessential products that it sells in an effort to prioritize deliveries of things like medical supplies and sanitizers to hospitals.
  • There are still plenty of deals to be found if you know where to look though, and if you follow the BGR Deals team then you certainly know where to look.
  • Today, we’ve got an exclusive deal for you that gets you a pair of shockingly good TaoTronics SoundSurge 60 wireless noise cancelling headphones for just $33.99 with a special coupon code.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

There is no question whatsoever that the hottest headphones deal on Amazon right now is the retailer’s sale on Apple’s AirPods Pro. Most nonessential products on Amazon have temporarily stopped shipping so that Amazon can free up capacity for medical supplies and other essentials that hospitals and local government facilities might need. It seems like nothing can stop AirPods Pro from shipping though, and Amazon is going even further by discounting Apple’s beloved ANC earphones to their Black Friday price. If you’ve been toying with the idea of picking up a pair, now is definitely the time to do it — and Apple’s other AirPods models are also discounted at Amazon.

But what about people in search of a good pair of over-ear headphones? And what should you do if AirPods are still too pricey for your budget even while they’re discounted? After all, $139+ is still a lot of money to spend on a pair of headphones.

The BGR Deals team is happy to tell you about a terrific exclusive deal we’ve managed to secure for our readers. It’s on the TaoTronics SoundSurge 60 wireless noise cancelling headphones, which many of you have surely heard of considering how popular they are. If you haven’t heard of them, there are a few things you should know. They deliver impressive sound thanks in large part to TaoTronics’s 40mm large-aperture drivers, which pump out deep bass without overpowering mids and highs. They also have solid noise cancelling technology and great battery life that delivers up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge. You’ll inevitably run low on juice at some point, though, which is why there’s another great feature you have to check out — charge these headphones for just 5 minutes and you’ll have enough battery life to listen to music for 2 hours!

The $50 retail price is more than fair for these great headphones with more than 1,400 5-star ratings on Amazon. Use the exclusive coupon code BGRCE060 at checkout, however, and you’ll only pay $33.99.

Amazon has 5 hot coupons that are about to expire

%name Amazon has 5 hot coupons that are about to expire by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The Amazon site is still full of deep discounts on popular products despite the company’s recent move to focus more on selling essentials to hospitals.
  • Discounts are available on a wide range of popular items from AirPods Pro to a fast wireless charger on sale for just $5.
  • On top of all those great deals, Amazon has five coupon deals on best-selling Anker products that are set to expire in the coming days.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

When Amazon announced that it was moving away from shipping nonessential items until late April so that it could focus mainly on delivering medical supplies to hospitals, many people had the same two reactions. First, they said to themselves that it was a totally understandable move on Amazon’s part, and that it was even commendable. After that, they wondered how they were going to get all the things they would normally buy from Amazon without leaving the house.

Even if you don’t live in a coronavirus hot zone like New York, New Jersey, or Florida, you’re still being extremely cautious if you’re smart. That means staying isolated at home with your family unless you absolutely must go out. Thankfully, Amazon is actually still delivering plenty of popular products that are considered nonessential, and there are five great deals on Anker products that you definitely need to check out.

First up, we have the new Anker PowerWave 15 Pad fast wireless charger, which comes with its own adapter unlike most low-cost wireless charging pads. It supports 5W charging, 7.5W charging for iPhones, 10W charging for most Android phones, and even 15W fast wireless charging for newer Android models. It costs $50, but the coupon code AKRB2502 cuts the cost to $34.99. Of note, you can also still get the PowerWave Pad 10W wireless charger for just $8.99.

Anker USB-C Wireless Charger, 15W Fast Wireless Charging Pad, Qi-Certified, 7.5W Fast Charge iP…: $34.99 (use code AKRB2502)

Anker’s PowerWave Base Pad is another great option for anyone in search of a good wireless charger, and it’s only $10.99 with the coupon code PWAVE2505.

The $50 Anker Premium 60W 5-Port Desktop Charger that includes one 30W USB-C port and four PowerIQ USB 3.0 ports is down to $32.99 with coupon code AKHOMEPO2, and the $55 Anker 60W 2-Port PowerPort Atom PD 2 Foldable Wall Charger is only $1 more if you use the coupon code AKHOMEPO3 at checkout.

AirPods Pro are somehow back down to Amazon’s best price ever

%name AirPods Pro are somehow back down to Amazon’s best price ever by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s popular AirPods 2 and AirPods 2 with wireless charging are both on sale today at Amazon, but that’s not the biggest surprise.
  • Somehow, Apple’s insanely popular AirPods Pro — which came back in stock earlier this week at full price — are now on sale at the all-time lowest price from Black Friday last year.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

We have no idea how it’s possible, but Amazon just shocked us all on last week with one of the rarest deals on any popular Apple product. That’s right, Apple’s best-selling AirPods Pro noise-canceling true wireless earbuds went on sale today at their lowest price ever. It was quite unexpected since they were out of stock just before then. On top of that, Amazon said it’s no restocking nonessential products until late April at the soonest, so it seemed like AirPods Pro might be gone for a while. Thankfully, that’s not the case at all!

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

AirPods Pro went on sale for the first time ever ahead of the holidays last year on Black Friday. Most retailers were still selling them at full retail since AirPods were the hottest gift of the season, but Amazon chopped them down to an all-time low price of $234.98. We’ve seen them drop back down to that sale price a few times since then, but each of those deals had one thing in common: AirPods Pro were out of stock at the time, so people had to wait around for them to be delivered.

Last week, we hit the mother lode. AirPods Pro were back down to Amazon’s all-time low price, and they were back in stock and shipping immediately. The deal sold out pretty quick and shipping times began to slip back, but now they’re somehow back in stock and back on sale at that all-time low. Now that the cat’s out of the bag though, there’s really no telling how long they’ll stay in stock.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

Want Apple earphones but don’t need noise cancellation? You can save $20 on AirPods 2 today on Amazon, or you can save $30 on AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case so you don’t have to fuss with charging cords and annoyingg connectors.

Apple AirPods with Charging Case: $139.00

Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case: $169.00

Finallly, if you’d rather get earphones that are almost as good and save a ton of money in the process, the most popular SoundPEATS true wireless earbuds are on sale right now at a great price. $36 SoundPEATS TrueCapsule Wireless Earbuds can be had for just $29.99 if you clip the coupon on Amazon’s product page.

SoundPEATS TrueCapsule Wireless Earbuds TWS Bluetooth Earphones in-Ear Mono/Stereo Bluetooth 5.…: $29.99

Microsoft’s dual-screen Surface Neo laptop isn’t coming this year

%name Microsoft’s dual screen Surface Neo laptop isn’t coming this year by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Microsoft’s dual-screen Surface Neo laptop is not going to launch in 2020, a new report says.
  • Instead, Microsoft will focus on delivering Windows 10X on single-screen devices even though the operating system is supposed to power dual-screen laptops.
  • Windows 10X won’t be available for any other dual-screen Neo alternatives from other Windows device makers this year.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The novel coronavirus has already ruined a bunch of product launches in the tech world, as several events had to be canceled in the past few months. We’ll see other product delays in the coming months as well, as it’ll be a while until life returns to normal. Save for a vaccine, we’ll have to worry about COVID-19 reemerging through 2022, so the old “normal” isn’t coming back anytime soon. Recent reports said the iPhone 12 series could be pushed back as far as December because of the pandemic. The Xbox Series X isn’t delayed, according to a recent interview, but things are still in flux, and launch plans might change depending on the progress of COVID-19 management. But it looks like the coronavirus has made at least one victim when it comes to 2020 products, and that’s Microsoft’s dual-screen Windows 10X-running Neo laptop.

Disney+ gains on Netflix as it rockets to 50 million subscribers

%name Disney+ gains on Netflix as it rockets to 50 million subscribers by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Disney+ now has more than 50 million subscribers across the world.
  • This compares to 26.5 million Disney+ subscribers as of February of this year.
  • As a point of comparison, Netflix has 61 million subscribers based in the US alone.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

We had a feeling Disney+ was going to be huge, but few people could have anticipated the extent to which Disney’s nascent streaming service took the US by storm. Bolstered by The Mandalorian and an incredibly strong library of existing content — a catalog which includes every season of The Simpsons — Disney+ got off to a rousing start and hasn’t slowed down since.

According to Disney executives, the cumulative tally of Disney+ subscribers now exceeds 50 million, a figure which recently skyrocketed thanks to the recent rollout of Disney+ in Europe. If you recall, Disney+ became available in the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Austria, and Switzerland on March 24th.

Watch a black hole violently fire a jet of material into space

  • Astronomers from the Event Horizon Telescope project have released images of a distant quasar with its black hole spewing material into space.
  • The images were gathered by telescopes all over the planet, acting together to peer deep into space.
  • The images reveal mysteries about the jet of fast-moving material leaving the black hole, and researchers now have some interesting questions to answer.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

It was almost exactly a year ago today that astronomers from around the world showed off the first-ever image of a black hole. It was blurry, but it was the first of its kind. It was made possible by the Event Horizon Telescope, or EHT, which is a collaborative international effort harnessing the power of multiple observatories all over the world.

But the black hole we all feasted our eyes on a year ago wasn’t the only object the EHT team was interested in. A bright quasar called 3C 279 was another object the researchers targeted. Now we get to see what the supermassive black hole at its heart has been up to, and it is magnificent.

Xbox Series X can play Xbox One games from an external hard drive

%name Xbox Series X can play Xbox One games from an external hard drive by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Microsoft is making backwards compatibility a priority on the Xbox Series X.
  • If you want to play your Xbox One games on an Xbox Series X, all you have to do is plug in an external hard drive with the games on it and you can immediately start playing them.
  • Xbox Series X games can only be played from the internal SSD or a Seagate expansion drive.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Regardless of the differences between teraflops and compute units and memory bandwidth, we won’t actually know how the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X compare until we see them in action. Within days of each other, we’ve seen reports claiming that the PS5 is in big trouble and might have to be delayed, while others say that the PS5 is definitely the better console. We’re not putting much stock into anything that doesn’t come straight from Sony or Microsoft, and one area where we can compare the two consoles is their commitment to backwards compatibility.

Microsoft has made it abundantly clear that Xbox 360, Xbox One, and even original Xbox games will be playable on its next-gen console. On the other hand, all that Sony has confirmed is that about 100 of the most popular PS4 games will be playable on the PS5 at launch. It is a noticeable gap, and it only grows wider when you realize just how utterly painless it will be to play old Xbox One and Xbox 360 games on your Xbox Series X.

Dr. Fauci says we should never shake hands again, even when this pandemic is over

%name Dr. Fauci says we should never shake hands again, even when this pandemic is over by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Trump administration’s most public expert on the coronavirus pandemic, is strongly recommending that everyone avoid shaking hands ever again, even after a vaccine arrives for the virus and things start going back to normal.
  • Dr. Fauci made that recommendation during an interview when asked about what behaviors might linger, even in a post-coronavirus world.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Everyone is eagerly trying to look ahead and imagine what the post-coronavirus quarantine future looks like once we get to whatever the other side of the current status quo is. Maybe imagining a little aggressively, since so many people, sadly, are still dying, and we still don’t have the testing and surveillance apparatus in place that we’ll need in order to start tentatively opening the US economy back up again.

The public face of the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus crisis, however, has already offered at least one blunt suggestion we should try not to forget once we’re past this pandemic. And given that Dr. Anthony Fauci is the infectious diseases expert who’s one of the few trustworthy voices in the Trump administration on this, it’s something we should definitely not ignore. His recommendation: Absolutely no more handshakes, even after we’ve defeated this virus. “As a society, just forget about shaking hands,” Fauci said during a new television interview.

Scientists actually reversed stroke damage in rodent tests

%name Scientists actually reversed stroke damage in rodent tests by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Doctors successfully repaired stroke-damaged rat brains using human skin cells that had been reprogrammed to act as nerve cells.
  • The new cells made the correct connections in the brain after being transplanted, restoring movement and sensation.
  • Further studies are needed to determine how safe and effective the procedure is before deciding to pursue testing in other animals and eventually humans.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Over the years, doctors and healthcare professionals have learned a lot about what increases the risk of a person having a stroke. Things like high blood pressure, smoking, and heart disease can all play a major role in whether or not a person will suffer a stroke during their lifetime, but treatment after a person has had a stroke often means a lengthy rehabilitation, and even then it’s no guarantee that the individual will make a full recovery.

In a perfect world, doctors would be able to actually repair the damage that a stroke causes to the brain, fixing the damage and returning the brains to their pre-stroke functionality.
