A pair of startups from within the Georgetown University Venture Lab has launched a new web tool called the COVID-19 Testing Locator that lets users know how far away they are from testing locations and where they can find the closest site that will test them for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Anyone in the US can access the COVID-19 Testing Locator for free starting today by visiting www.covid19testing.today. The locator’s features include showing users how far away they are from testing facilities, allowing users to view contact information for the facility if that data is available, and letting users filter locations based on preferences — such as whether it’s drive-thru only, focused only on children, or geared towards senior citizens.

• Apple recently released iOS 13.4.5 beta for developers, but it will be a while before that new version makes it to the general public.
• In the meantime, iOS 13.4.1 has been released for the iPhone and iPadOS 13.4.1 is now available for iPad models.
• The updates aren’t huge, but they do fix a few pesky bugs including a FaceTime but that has really been bothering people.

iOS 13.4.5 beta 1 was just released for the iPhone earlier this week along with iPadOS 13.4.5 beta 1 for the iPad. Apple still has plenty of testing left to do before it releases those updates to the public, but a new version was just released for everyone in the interim. iOS 13.4.1 is now available for all iPhone users with compatible devices, and iPadOS 13.4.1 is available for iPad models. The update includes a few bug fixes including one that prevented some devices from joining FaceTime calls with iOS and Mac devices running certain older versions of their respective operating systems.

I’m a longtime Apple user and I have no plans to change that anytime soon. • The Galaxy Fold was both the first foldable phone Samsung had ever released as well as the most expensive when it came out in September 2019.
• The only Galaxy Fold available was the $1,980 512GB model, but Samsung is reportedly preparing a 256GB model of the Galaxy Fold 2, which will sell at a cheaper price point.

Foldable phones haven’t taken off the way that some smartphone vendors expect them to, but there also has yet to be a foldable phone that the average consumer would consider using in place of their daily driver. Samsung came as close as any phone maker has with its Galaxy Z Flip, which had the allure of a foldable device paired with a price that didn’t make everyone balk, but it was still a niche product. In order for a foldable phone to break through, it will need both a revolutionary design and a price tag that most people will be able to stomach.

According to SamMobile, that might be exactly what we end up getting from the Galaxy Fold 2. Sources tell the site that the successor to the Galaxy Fold will include a base model with 256GB of internal storage at a lower price point than any of the original Fold models, bringing the barrier of entry down for consumers.

• Amazon is running a surprising sale on Tuesday that slashes the class-leading Sony WF1000XM3 true wireless noise cancelling earbuds to a price that’s even lower than the deal we saw ahead of the holidays last year on Black Friday.
• Apple’s extremely popular AirPods Pro are also on sale right now at Amazon, and they’re back down to Black Friday’s all-time low price.
• Even with Amazon’s discount, AirPods Pro still cost almost $40 more than the rival Sony earphones today, which is a big price difference when you consider that the Sony pair is widely believed to offer superior sound quality and noise cancelling tech.

Apple’s wildly popular true wireless earbuds flew off the virtual shelves last year on Black Friday and Cyber Monday when Amazon slashed the price for the first time ever, and that all-time low price is now back once again at the nation’s top online retailer. If you want a pair of AirPods Pro, now is most certainly the time to pull the trigger because you won’t find them for less money anywhere. If you’re willing to go a different route, however, there’s a pair of cord-free earbuds on sale right now from Sony that many people believe are superior to Apple’s AirPods Pro in every way.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

If you’re an audiophile or even just someone who appreciates high-quality headphones, you’ve undoubtedly head about Sony’s WF1000XM3 true wireless noise cancelling earbuds. Sony entered the noise cancelling over-ear headphones space and then dominated it with the WH1000XM3 ANC headphones despite Bose’s early lead, and the company has pretty much done the same thing with the WF1000XM3 earbuds in the AMC earphone market. They weren’t the first cord-free earbuds to feature noise cancellation, but they’re widely believed to be the best.

Even on a normal day, Sony WF1000XM3 ANC earbuds cost less than Apple’s rival AirPods Pro earphones. They retail for about $230 while Apple sells its ANC earbuds for around $250. With the AirPods Pro on sale for $235 on Tuesday though, it’s a much more difficult decision if you’re trying to decide between the two. Well, it would be a more difficult decision, that is, if Sony’s buds weren’t also on sale. That’s even less than they cost last year on Black Friday!
