  • Sony has yet to reveal the design or feature set of the PlayStation 5.
  • In an interview, a Crytek rendering engineer says that the PS5 is “a better console” than the Xbox Series X, and is much easier to code for as well.
  • The interview has since been deleted, leaving us with more questions than answers.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Save for a single video late last month, PlayStation 5 news has been exceedingly hard to come by. Sony is dragging out the reveal of its next console much longer than it did with the PlayStation 4 in 2013, and thus we’ve been scouring the internet for anything of substance over the past few months. Some of what we’ve turned up has been surprisingly insightful and believable, while some of it has left us scratching our heads. But the interview we’re about to discuss led me down a path riddled with nearly as many twists and turns as Tiger King on Netflix.

New iPhone 12 leak reveals all four upcoming models

%name New iPhone 12 leak reveals all four upcoming models by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • A series of iPhone 12 leaks suggests Apple will have four new iPhone 12 models in stores this year.
  • All four handsets are expected to feature smaller notches, 5G support, and A14-series chips.
  • The iPhone 12 Pro models will have bigger screens than before and upgraded rear-facing camera systems, which will include a LiDAR system and three camera lenses.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The iPhone 12 will either launch on time this year, or will miss the expected September release window by several months, depending on who you ask. The uncertainty comes from the current coronavirus pandemic, which has stopped the world in its tracks. Suppliers in China may finally be ready to mass-produce parts for the iPhone 12 and assemble the phones, but Apple engineers can’t travel to the region to finalize the design.

That’s what some reports have said over the past few days. But a series of new leaks indicate that the iPhone 12 design may be finalized soon anyway.

Bronx Zoo tiger tests positive for coronavirus, has a dry cough

%name Bronx Zoo tiger tests positive for coronavirus, has a dry cough by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • A tiger in New York City tested positive for novel coronavirus after coming into contact with a zoo staff member who had COVID-19.
  • The tiger, a four-year-old female, presented symptoms typical of COVID-19, including a dry cough.
  • The big cat is expected to recover, and it’s not believed that animals can spread the virus to humans.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

A tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York City is the latest “celebrity” to come down with an infection of the novel coronavirus. The big cat’s plight was revealed in an announcement by the zoo and further expanded on by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

The tiger, a four-year-old female named Nadia, was the first of the zoo’s big cats to exhibit symptoms typically associated with COVID-19. The primary symptom was a dry cough, and subsequent testing confirmed that the feline did indeed have a coronavirus infection. Unfortunately, she’s probably not the only cat at the zoo with the virus.

  • AIRPODS DEAL: The only deal online that saves you money on Apple’s AirPods Pro
  • Tiger King has been everyone’s TV obsession — and the hottest show on Netflix — for two weeks now, ever since it started streaming on Netflix back on March 20.
  • The streamer has since teed up new content about the show to capitalize on its popularity, including a music video released over the weekend. Netflix re-edited a video for one of Tiger King star Joe Exotic’s most popular songs, I Saw a Tiger.
  • Meanwhile, another star of the series has said the streamer is adding a new episode this week.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Netflix knows what you want to watch while the coronavirus pandemic rages on and we’re all bored out of our minds: More Tiger King content, of course.

Over the weekend, the streaming giant released a sing-a-long music video for I Saw a Tiger starring Tiger King’s central character Joe Exotic. Only, instead of a bouncy ball that highlights the words, a bouncing tiger head helps you follow along with the lyrics. And on a separate but related note, it seems that Netflix is also preparing to release a new Tiger King episode at some point this week. At least, according to zoo owner Jeff Lowe, who you’ll remember from the show and who shared the news in a video circulated on Twitter by Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Justin Turner.

Cut off from family and friends, rationing supplies, and not living the confines of your home for weeks at a time. I’m talking about our new way of life in the face of the novel coronavirus pandemic, but I could just as easily be describing life for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

The small team of scientists currently hurtling through space above our heads is composed of masters of self-isolation, and one of those scientists — NASA’s Jessica Meir — recently offered some of her own insights into how to stay safe (and sane) during these bizarre times.

Allstate is offering partial car insurance refunds since no one is driving right now

%name Allstate is offering partial car insurance refunds since no one is driving right now by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Most everyone in the US is under some kind of quarantine or stay-at-home mandate right now as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that’s still raging across the world.
  • Staying home more means a corresponding plunge in drivers on the road since people are only supposed to be venturing out to places that have been deemed by government officials as “essential businesses.”
  • As a result of the decrease in driving, the insurer Allstate has decided to offer partial refunds to customers for their April and May monthly premiums.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

If you get your car insurance from Allstate, the insurer says you can expect to receive a partial refund of your monthly premium for April and May since most of us are stuck at home right now and not driving anywhere because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The company announced on Monday that it’s returning more than $600 million of its customers’ car insurance premiums in the form of what it’s calling a “Shelter-in-Place Payback.” Allstate came to this decision, according to a call with reporters Monday led by company CEO Tom Wilson, after the insurer found that its customers were driving as much as 50% less in most states. Also, these refunds will apply to 18 million policies issued by Allstate and its affiliated units.

iOS 14 leaks reveal a massive change people have been begging for

  • New iOS 14 leak reveals refreshed wallpaper settings on iPhone and iPad.
  • iOS 14 default wallpapers will be split in Collections that will make them more organized.
  • Apple is also rumored to be working real widgets for the Home screen in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, which is something many users have been clamoring for.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Over the past several weeks, we have been inundated with iOS 14 leaks, and even with WWDC 2020 still two months away (or the online event that will replace it, anyway), Apple’s next major mobile update continues to be spoiled. This past weekend, a leaker who goes by @DongleBookPro on Twitter shared a series of screenshots that show off the redesigned wallpaper settings menu that will presumably be included in iOS 14.

9to5Mac says the screenshots line up with what they found in the leaked iOS 14 code. Each of the default wallpapers is split up into a collection. Although we can’t see them all in the images, 9to5Mac claims to know the names of some of the collections: Classic Stripes, Earth & Moon, and Flowers. If you want a specific wallpaper, you can now drill down into these collections rather than having to scroll through every default option.

  • New data shows that residents of 15 states are at the highest risk of serious COVID-19 complications.
  • Data based on age and other health-related risk factors provides a detailed glimpse at which states face the biggest challenges.
  • We can mitigate these risks by following social distancing guidelines, staying home, and taking sanitization and cleanliness advice seriously.

Every corner of the United States has been affected in some way by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Even if your neck of the woods hasn’t been hit particularly hard by COVID-19, the various lockdown and social distancing measures in place nationwide have no doubt changed your day-to-day life. But how will your state fare in the long term in our fight against the virus? A new research effort by the Kaiser Family Foundation attempts to answer that question.

Using a wealth of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the World Health Organization, the group analyzed the potential impact of the pandemic on a state level for all fifty US states. Using the CDC’s 2018 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System — a nationwide survey that monitors various health-related factors, the researchers have estimated which state populations are at the highest risk.

No one knows about this Amazon sale on Sony’s epic WH1000XM3 headphones

%name No one knows about this Amazon sale on Sony’s epic WH1000XM3 headphones by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Head over to Amazon right now and you’ll find a very solid discount on the class-leading Sony WH1000XM3 wireless noise cancelling headphones.
  • This model retails for $350, but Amazon is selling them right now for $298. That’s close to the price we saw on Black Friday and it’s a terrific option for anyone trying to tune out their family for a bit while stuck in coronavirus quarantine.
  • What most people don’t realize, and what you probably won’t even find if you search for Sony’s popular headphones on Amazon, is that there’s an even better deal on a WH1000XM3 bundle that gets you the same great headphones plus a 20,000 mAh portable charger for the exact same price.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Are the Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones worth $350? Well, it depends on who you ask. Ask any audiophile who has a pair and you’ll inevitably get an affirmative answer. When it comes to both sound quality and the caliber of onboard active noise cancelling technology, it doesn’t get any better than Sony’s ANC cans. Some people out there might argue that the Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones have better sound quality, and it’s largely subjective so there’s no way to say for certain one way or the other. But in either case, Sony still has a huge lead when it comes to active noise cancellation technology because its tech is unbeatable.

If you’re in the market for a new pair of top-of-the-line ANC headphones, now is a good time to pull the trigger. Head over to Amazon and you’ll find that the Sony WH1000XM3 headphones are on sale right now for just $298. That’s a $52 discount and it comes pretty close to the sale price from Black Friday this past year. Before you jump on that deal though, there’s an even better deal that you should definitely check out.

Lots of people don’t even know that Amazon offers a bundle that pairs Sony’s WH1000XM3 Headphones with a Phonesuit Energy Core Studio 20,000 mAh Battery Pack. As we mentioned, it’s not easy to find on the site unless you really know what you’re looking for. Fortunately for you, we know what we’re looking for.

There’s really no question that WH1000XM3 wireless headphones already have fantastic battery life on their own. They offer up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge, after all. That said, it’s inevitable that your headphones will run out of juice at inopportune times every once in a while, and you don’t want to go without them when you need them most. That’s why having a portable charger like this Energy Core Studio model from Phonesuit is so crucial. A quick charge from this puppy adds more than enough battery life to get you through your commute, and you can also use it to recharge your smartphone or anything else you might be carrying. If you’re going to pick up a pair of Sony’s ANC headphones on sale anyway, it would be crazy not to get the portable charger at no additional cost.

Scientists have found another potential coronavirus cure

  • Researchers discovered an anti-parasitic drug can kill the novel coronavirus in 48 hours in lab tests.
  • Ivermectin hasn’t been tested on COVID-19 patients, and human trials are mandatory to determine whether the drug is efficient and safe at fighting SARS-CoV-2 after infection.
  • The drug joins the growing list of other medicines that are currently in testing around the world as scientists look to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

We’re at the peak of the coronavirus health crisis in some countries, while others will see the worst of it in the weeks to come. That’s pretty much all we hear from the news, and the only thing we can do right now is wait for the lockdown measures to work. Social distancing should flatten the curve and give hospitals and governments some much-needed breathing room. But the fight against COVID-19 will be hardly over once the number of daily infections drops significantly. This is the sort of disease we’ll have to eradicate. Otherwise, it might become a seasonal illness like the flu, but far more contagious and deadly.

Attaining immunity can be done in two ways, and neither one is easy. A vaccine won’t be ready for another 12 to 18 months at least, and researchers are hopeful that it will all work. The virus, as it is now, mutates very little. But you’ll have to wait and hope you don’t get infected until then. The other way involves fighting the COVID-19 infection and hoping yours will be a mild case. While there are no specific cures to help boost the immune system in its battle with the pathogen, there are several promising treatments that are being tested in many hospitals dealing with COVID-19 patients. And researchers from Australia have just discovered a new potential medicine that can kill the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The drug is so good that it eliminates any traces of the virus in as little as two days, but that’s only in lab testing.
