The World Health Organization will release an official coronavirus information app for iPhone, Android, and the web.
The WHO MyHealth app will launch on March 30th and will include all the information the organization already pushes to its official WhatsApp chatbot.
The first version of the app will provide self-diagnose help and assistance, while future releases might help combat the spread of epidemics.

One of the more infuriating aspects involving the coronavirus pandemic is that hackers and scam artists have been trying to use the crisis to bilk innocent victims out of their hard-earned money. Especially at a time when unemployment is at an all-time high and many people are struggling to make ends meet, the fact that hackers are still going at it is beyond revolting.

Aside from run-of-the-mill scams involving scammers calling up people and offering fake coronavirus testing kits, there are also reports that cyberattacks in general, and phishing attempts in particular, have skyrocketed over the past few weeks. Some brazen folks have even engaged in phishing efforts by sending out emails designed to look as if they’re official notices from the World Health Organization. Even more problematic are attempts from hackers to install ransomware on hospital computer systems.

Dogs have already been trained to sniff out other medical conditions, including cancer, malaria, and Parkinson’s.
Dogs able to recognize a particular smell for COVID-19 patients could help authorities prevent transmission in crowded places and prevent future outbreaks.

How long can the US economy remain shut down because of the coronavirus? As long as it takes, say many health experts. Until Easter, President Trump wishes. Like him, many officials around the world may be worried that strict lockdowns and quarantines will have a massive impact on the economy the longer they run. The UK famously attempted herd immunity before realizing the strategy was doomed to kill countless COVID-19 patients. It pivoted towards social distancing in an attempt to flatten the curve of the novel coronavirus.

The longer we stay indoors and avoid others, the more time we buy for those who are infected and need hospitalization. Time also works in favor of medical systems and governments that are scrambling to deal with the pandemic. More personal protective gear, more ventilators, and more tests for the novel coronavirus are needed, as well as measures to support the millions of people that lost their jobs over the past few weeks.

It turns out a test to detect the COVID-19 virus early isn’t the only one we need, though. There’s a second test that would not only signal that it’s safe to restart the economy, but would also help us to determine whether we’ll have to fight SARS-CoV-2 ever again. Tt’s also a test could save lives. It’s the immunity test.
